Mars Retrograde in Aquarius and Capricorn?
If you were born under either of these signs, it's going to feel most personal. Mars will be talking directly to you. For some people, this will not seem to affect them much at all. It depends on which degrees of the zodiac are occupied by planets in your natal chart. But before you feel left out, know that everyone has Capricorn and Aquarius somewhere in their chart.
I am offering $25 Mars retrograde readings if you would like to know how YOU personally can best work with this energy.
Most interestingly will be Mars' continuous square to rebellious Uranus. Usually lasting 2 weeks, this aspect is prolonged and weaved into this transit. It's time to figure out where you've become too limited and alter our direction accordingly. Uranus is the AWAKENER, the anarchist throwing a Molotov cocktail... Your higher self is speaking and it's going to rock the boat. If you are in a situation where you feel like rage-quitting, face it head on. You may not have to quit altogether. You may just need to get clear on WHAT needs to change and SPEAK UP! But then again, maybe you do...
Mars square Uranus is fiercely independent, unafraid of moving to it's own drum.
Listen to those desires now.
Aquarius innovates, then we move back into Capricorn where we build the new goals.
So if you find it difficult to slow your gait, I leave you with this reminder:
Lots of Love,
The first week of May is fairly quiet. (sigh of relief here) We could all use it. Reflect, integrate and admire the beautiful bounty around us. The Moon is in Sagittarius May 1-3, which is excellent for exploration, seeking, spirituality and optimism. The Moon travels through Capricorn May 4th through the morning of the 6th - excellent for discipline, grounding, building, and committing to one's work. The Moon enters Aquarius on the morning of the 6th, where she will stay through the late evening of the 8th. Excellent for inventiveness, innovation, experimentation and socialization.
May 6th: Sun sextile Neptune
May 7th: Mercury square Pluto (again)// Venus square Neptune
May 8th: Vesta stations retrograde in Capricorn:
Night of May 8th- 10th, the Moon is in Pisces - excellent for dream work, artistry, tuning into one's emotions and connection with universe. Moon in Aries May 11th through the morning of the 13th: excellent for speaking your truth, action, adventure and spontaneity. The Moon wraps up her cycle, slowing down as she enters Taurus on May 13th. Before the New Moon arrives, it's a good idea not to jam pack our schedules, as this period is best for rest and reflection.
May 11th: Sun trine Pluto
May 12th: Mercury square Mars
May 13th: Mercury conjunct Uranus
Moving into the second half of the month,
Where is that Moon?
The Moon changes signs every 2.5 days
The Moon is in Cancer May 17th-19th, perfect for matters related to home and family, allowing feelings to lead and excellent for cooking! The Moon moves into Leo in the evening of the 19th, staying until the evening of the 21st; excellent for creativity, playfulness, passion and allowing the heart to lead. The Moon resides in Virgo from the evening of the 21st until the 23rd, which is great for productivity, tidying, and tending to the smaller details in life. The Moon moves into Libra early on May 24th, where she stays until the morning of the 26th; great for tending to partnership matters, socializing and sharing ideas. The Moon strolls into Scorpio early on May 26th until late on the 28th, intensifying emotions and offering determination and personal power. The Moon culminates in Sagittarius and then spends the last day of the Month in Capricorn which is great for building toward our ambitions and goals.
Still hungry for more?
Hold yourself over until May with these ::
March 1st, 2018 :: FULL MOON, 11⁰ 22’ Virgo :: 7:51 pm EST
The last Full Moon prior to the Vernal Equinox – the first day of spring – is known as the “worm moon,” or the “sap moon.” The earth begins her defrost and the Maple trees release their sweet sugar. Similarly, the top of the soil begins to defrost, allowing the worms to wriggle to life and begin churning the soil beneath the surface of the ground, as the young seeds prepare to burst forth, uncoiling their wild potential.
The Virgo Full Moon asks of us to analyze our current projects, get organized and plan what to do with our recharged energy as winter breaks. This is also an excellent time to do your “spring cleaning” – whatever that would mean for you. The Sun conjoins Neptune in Pisces, invoking our imaginative faculties to divine what else could be possible in the lengthening days. What do you want to bring forth this year?
Virgo is quite the crafty sign; cultivated, perfectionistic, and dead-set on mastery. Perfection demands a narrow focus and attention to detail, which can cause anxiousness and even worry when things aren’t to standard. The shadow side of the imagination is hypochondrial tendencies. Curb any worries by fixing what is within your control and going with the flow where you have none.
The Virgo/Pisces polarity holds a vision of divine perfection. While success is earned by the dedication of some in their craft, it’s truly impossible to be perfect in every way. Pisces represents the divine ideal that does not exist on Earth (except in our imaginations). Instead of driving ourselves crazy trying to reproduce our instant third-eye-visual of “perfect,” we can instead accept it as inspiration.
The motto of this moon is “practice makes (almost) perfect.” Be humble like the worm, do the behind the scenes work, get your hands dirty, and watch beautiful seedlings rise and blossom. And at the end of the day, know that you are enough – and perfectly imperfect!
March 4th: The Sun reaches its annual conjunction with Neptune, harboring a deeply subjective, sensitive period which encourages water to flow – both from the sky and down our cheeks. Who doesn’t need a good cry once in a while? Watch a movie that speaks to your heart, listen to sentimental music, connect with loved ones.
This can also be a deeply spiritual time. Be gentle with yourself, being receptive to your own soul’s speaking to your conscious mind. This is time for fluidity, reflection and just allowing space to feel. Warning: possible longings of Divine-Discontent
March 6th: “Clean up on aisle 1!” Venus follows Mercury into fiery Aries, whose warmth evaporates some of the sappiness. The transition out of aimless Pisces into sharp and pointed Aries gives a fresh, no-nonsense attitude. Feeling more opinionated now, we are more likely to say it straight and tell it like it is. Bravery, courage, passion, and impulsiveness spring us into action.
March 8th: Jupiter turns retrograde in Scorpio today. Jupiter’s entry into Scorpio last Fall correlated with the death of Hugh Hefner and Ronan Allen’s exposé on Harvey Weinstein, which cascaded a slew of similar stories of sexual abuse in Hollywood. Then we all got to talking and the #metoo movement began. Jupiter’s journey through each sign is exactly that: a journey. Together we are having a much-needed conversation on consent and appropriate conduct in sexual encounters. We’ve pointed several fingers and now it’s time to go deeper within our own psyches. This marks a potent time of going within to give attention to the dark corners of our psyches - and even seeking professional guidance. Where you have been wronged or shamed may emerge during this time, inviting you to process more of the experience. The good news is that above all the pain, the sign of Scorpio wants to transform the story from one of suffering to one of empowerment. Jupiter remains retrograde until the beginning of July.
March 9th: Mercury enters his shadow. That's right, there's a retrograde on the horizon. Today Mercury arrives at the degree that he will later retrograde to next month. Pay attention to any communication themes that arise today - or if any of your gadgets give you any grief - as this may be a theme you are working with over the next month.
March 11th: Real talk. Focus. Persistence. Mercury squares Saturn, which is excellent for study (or finally doing your taxes), but this could also indicate challenges in communication. Maybe it means having a hard conversation with someone, or it might mean doing something you don’t want to do, but have to. Luckily, we get a big burst of energy to carry us though. Uranus trines Mars on the Galactic Center, heralding enthusiasm and inspiration to spur us toward spring. Meanwhile, the Sun sextiles Pluto urging us to keep up as we move out of our comfort zone and grow.
March 13th: Issues with authority, money or love may arise at this time, as reflected by Venus' square to Saturn. Desire gets a reality check, as everything comes with a price in this dimension. No matter the obstacle, we have the determination to work through it - one way or another - thanks to the Sun's trine to Jupiter in relentless, transformative Scorpio. .
March 17th: immediately following the new moon, Mars enters ambitious Capricorn, where he loves to be. Mars is our drive, how we take action and go after things we want. In Capricorn, Mars has a larger purpose to work toward. Lucky for us, Mars will have an extended stay in Capricorn this year, propelling us up success mountain one step at a time. This placement also gives us more of a readiness for responsibility, impeccable foresight for planning, patience for taking practical methodical measures and a willingness to put in the work hour after hour until you can't go anymore.
March 17th, 2018 :: NEW MOON, 26⁰ 53’ Pisces :: 9:11 am EDT
The Pisces New Moon softens us into the cradle of the cosmic stream – where we are just one part of the vastness of the universe. What does it all mean? Pisces is a dual sign, where everything seems both futile and divinely intertwined in a perfect masterpiece of the Godhead. Everything matters and yet nothing matters at all.
The last sign of the zodiac, Pisces is a place for consolidation and reflection. The New Moon conjoins Chiron, reiterating the precious wisdom borne of the healing process. YOU are a miracle – but also a work in progress. Look how far you have come!
Chiron represents the mortal wound – we all have one. It’s the thing that continuously trips us up – our fatal flaw, so to speak. We are not perfect, we are not gods, we are not immortal. Whether our wound is physical, emotional, psychological or spiritual, we are invited to make new strides in our healing process or simply reflect on what have you learned along the way.
It’s through firsthand experience which offers wisdom to impart on others. Chiron is the mentor, healer, teacher or councilor. You may begin the healing journey by seeking expertise, and by the end of the process, you may become the healer yourself.
You may even be able to squash something for good (if you’ve been vigilant for some time). The Sun, Moon and Chiron square Mars in the final minutes of Sagittarius. All together, they point at the North Node of Destiny in an active shape known as “Thor’s hammer.” This formation seems to indicate completion, hustling over the finish line, breaking patterns or working the kinks out. Excellent for rolfing, chiropractic adjustment or courageously facing your fears with the help of a counselor.
The New Moon also trines Jupiter in Scorpio – responsible for revealing the skeletons in the closet or sexual misconduct, abuse of power and more – has recently turned retrograde, thus drawing the illumination inward to take a look at our own shadows. Jupiter in Scorpio is a healing journey around intimacy, trust and our relationship with the things we want to keep secret. At this time, we might look at our own attitudes around sexuality and shame – as a primal aspect of our own psyche.
The Sabian symbol for this degree is “a harvest moon,” reiterating completion, fullness and illumination in the light of healing. Forgive others for not knowing better, forgive yourself for not knowing better and be grateful for the healing wisdom that can aid yourself and others in the future.
March 19th: Ceres direct in Leo :: a renewed readiness to nourish the heart chakra; cultivating passion, creativity; parenting. Tell someone you love them; acts of kindness.
March 20th: The Sun enters Aries, initiating the Vernal Equinox (Ostara), wherein daylight and night are of equal lengths everywhere on Earth. Here in the Northern Hemisphere, the light begins to conquer the night, which is why we celebrate the rebirth of the Sun God (Easter) at this time of year.
We are now beginning to see new signs of life sprout forth, which is where we get the symbolism of the Easter egg.
Ostara is the Pagan goddess of fertility and of the dawn. Her imagery is surrounded by animals and budding trees. Legend has it that Ostara arrived late one year a found a bird whose wings were frozen into the ground. Since it would no longer be able to fly, Ostara turned the bird into a rabbit, but when the transformation was complete, it was discovered that the rabbit could still lay eggs! The rabbit would decorate the eggs and leave them for Ostara. (the more you know…)
We are now in a New Moon phase as this holiday of fertility, eggs and seeds arrives. Today is an excellent day for a manifestation ritual. Mercury joins Venus today, merging the heart and the mind for assuredly focused intention-setting. Do it now, before Mercury stations retrograde in a couple of days.
March 22nd: Mercury Stations Retrograde @ 17⁰ Aries,
retrograding back to 4⁰ and moving direct on April 15th.
I'm an astrologer who advocates for Mercury retrograde.
It's an excellent time to "Be Kind, Rewind;"
In a fast-paced world that glorifies "busy," we owe it to ourselves to practice the pause.
Mercury retrograde is indeed a precious time to process, integrate, and reflect on all that has happened in our lives in the past three months. Mercury goes retrograde approximately every 3 months for about 3 weeks. This is almost seasonal! So why the stigma?
One manifestation of Mercury is the Trickster. We are reminded not to take things so seriously and to slooww down. Of course it's annoying when things get lost in translation, emails disappear into thin air and we misplace things we need. Even worse, when you drop your new phone and the screen cracks. What I urge you to explore when the joke is on you, is what is the deeper message? Maybe it's simply to slow down. Or maybe you shouldn't be on your phone so much.
With Mercury representing the mental function, and the inherent nature of routinely retrograding backward, it seems to confirm this very suggestion: that "rest, recovery and reflection" are integral pieces of everything else we do.
March 23rd, Venus conjoins Eris and squares Pluto, evoking a Medusa-like energy. The myth of Medusa begins with a beautiful maiden who fell in love and dismissed her vows of celibacy. Enraged, Athena turned Medusa into the enraged form we most commonly associate with. Here is a woman who was expressing her sexuality and was shamed and punished for it. The Venus/Pluto hard aspects may bring up issues around our most intimate wounds. Where have you been made to feel shame around your sensuality? - or been called a whore or a prude?
Pluto is where we have compulsive patterns, and Venus is about love and relating. What is the seemingly inescapable pattern that you keep attracting? Venus/Pluto aspects can bring in love-triangles, power-play dynamics, jealousy, or at it's worst, abuse. If any of these patterns emerge for you this week, try to go back to the beginning when you were taught that you had to compete for love, and tell yourself that you ARE love and love flows freely toward you. This is a potent time to reset any such patterns.
Eris additionally represents the enraged feminine; in my observations, the Eris archetype represents all oppressed peoples, and the retaliatory demand for equality, and at minimum, representation. Let's see if we hear any revolutionary voices today.
March 24th, today is a high intensity, perhaps even volatile energy with the Sun's square to Mars. Frustration may be the root of the problem, because there's seems to be a roadblock that is delaying an otherwise eager energy to get moving! With energy not having the necessary outlets, watch out for outbursts, upsets and aggression. Get ahead of the curve and plan to go to kickboxing for these few days leading up!
March 28th, it's time to mix things up and entertain your wild desires. Venus conjuncts Uranus, representing a craving for new experiences. Reinvigorate the routine this weekend. Impulsiveness beckons (and you should answer) but safety first! As someone in the Venus profession, I can expect people coming in and asking me to chop their hair into a pixie, or color their hair a totally new color. This is also a time when people get really sick of waiting for things to improve at work or in their relationship.... watch for breakups and people quitting their jobs.
March 29th: Time to reel in a bit more mindfulness and caution. The Sun squares Saturn and the hammer comes down if you got too reckless last week! Excellent for discipline, hard work, and getting clear about boundaries and limitations.
March 31st: Venus enters Taurus, inviting more flowers to bloom. Venus is at home in Taurus when the plushness of spring is in full flow. Our five senses activate, inviting us to drink the fresh air, ogle the intoxicating colors, maybe even feel the grass between our toes again. Venus in Taurus is pure nature, pure beauty, pure appreciation of what is. Eat a slice of fresh cheesecake as slow as you can and then you will know Venus in Taurus.
March 31st :: FULL MOON, 10⁰ 44’ Libra :: 8:36 am EDT
For our second Full Moon on the calendar month, we have a Libra Full Moon, illuminating our partnerships – both romantic and platonic.
Partnerships are both enjoyable and challenging because of the polarity principle. We become each other’s mirrors, reflecting both strengths and weaknesses back and forth. And if we are receptive, we grow together!
We attract the vibration that we exude; and as such, people enter our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime. The word, “soulmate” is often associated with fairytale love, however it is not the case! A soulmate is someone whom you have repeatedly incarnated with; the love accumulated transcends the human ego so that you may even have to teach each other the hardest lessons. And you don’t have just one – you have multiple soul mates!
Speaking of challenges, the Full Moon squares Mars and Saturn. We want to progress in the relationship (our way) but there is something demanding more effort. The Full Moon will illuminate any of these hurdles and invite you to find a way over it. The good news is that with Venus in Taurus, Love will persevere. Love is the universal solvent and where there is love, we have an easier time understanding the other person’s point of view.
Aho Mitakyue Oyasin. May Mother Earth and all her inhabitants be awakened to our unity, and the highest LOVE of the Universe.
Love, peace and unity to ALL....
***If you were born between February 1988 and January 1990,***
Ready or not, it’s time to grow up!
By the time Saturn – the planet of maturity, wisdom and hard work – returns to its place in orbit that it was when you were born, you are nearly 30 years of age and beginning to face the reality of your life.
You are going to feel old for the first time. Maybe it’s the worsening hangovers, a receding hairline or finding your first grey hair. That forehead wrinkle becomes emboldened, your back hurts all too often and you are slowing down a touch – and you realize what the older folk said was true. You just didn’t see it coming so soon.
Just yesterday you were a carefree 20-something with nothing but a sea of possibilities before you.
“I’ve got time….” you used to say.
Well now that time has come. You are nearly 30. You might be half-way through your years by now, and if you’re lucky, a third. But you begin to ask yourself if you are anywhere close to where 20-year-old-you thought you would like to be “when you grow up.” It’s time to quit getting wasted multiple days a week and take a sober look at the reality of your life.
What have you built for yourself thus far? Do you want that married life? Quit pretending you don’t and actually imagine your life as an older person. If you still have roommates, do you think that one day you might want to live alone? What will it actually take to get where you want to be?
Usually, there is some kind of wake-up call. For me it was getting a root canal. My tooth was dead, and I felt the weight of mortality upon me. Not only that, but I had to fork over $3000 to take care of it. A solid reminder that while you could live in Thailand for 6 months on that money, you also need it for these expensive *just in case* adult scenarios. I had a couple more expensive incidents that gave me the understanding of WHY you need a savings for emergencies ONLY.
Your wake-up call will be different, but the overarching message has to do with responsibility and TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF.
Rest assured that by the end of your Saturn Return, you will be more polished, practical and have more of your shit together; you’ll be more focused, having realized that your health and your end goal are a more worthwhile investment than the bar down the street.
If this sounds harsh, good – its supposed to be. You are done being coddled. This is the time where you are officially responsible for your life. Your first Saturn cycle is a 29-year guided walk through. Breaking the cycle down into quarters, or turning points of development, we see that at 7 years old, you are in 1st grade, on your own for the entirety of the school day. This is the first taste of independence you get. You also begin losing your teeth around this time.
At 14, you begin high-school in the full throes of puberty. You begin taking more responsibility – for your wardrobe, who you hang out with, and you might even fall in love for the first time. Braces are also a common experience at this age, while your hair becomes an important way of defining oneself. You might also hear people comment on how “mature” you’re becoming, but it’s a very awkward time because you are still very immature.
At 21, you are allowed to drink alcohol and you might be finishing college at this age. You realize that with more freedom, comes more responsibility. You start thinking about your first career and having your independent place in the world. As far and the physical body goes, you look like an adult now and you start getting your hair done professionally – you might even get a tattoo. You are responsible for yourself, but mom and dad are still there for you – you might be paying your own rent and buying your own groceries, but you are still on their insurance and phone plans. You can still get away with not knowing how to do your taxes and spending your paycheck frivolously. You are finally enjoying freedom and you’ve earned it! And there is still much exploration to do. Think of this time as adulting with training wheels.
But now that you are almost 30,
you should know how to take care of yourself
(and maybe even others) by now.
This is the time that most people get married, have a child, buy a house, or do something that signifies greater responsibility. Saturn is all about cause and effect. You put in what you hope to get out. That newly forming wrinkle? Get yourself some retinol and wash your face every night. You gain weight faster – join the gym. You want to be CEO? Show up on time every day and keep your wits sharp. Be a better partner and a better planner. Be more realistic. Because by the time of your second Saturn Return, you will be almost 60 and hopefully close to retirement. Think about what you want that to look like…. You want to be in shape? You want to have a savings? Maybe some grandkids? Well, time to get moving then!
Saturn Return in Capricorn:
First of all, I just love you guys. My brother and all of his friends are beginning their first Saturn return right now. You guys also have Neptune in Capricorn, which will flavor your experience. Neptune is all about the dream, the ideal vision, hope…
But Saturn comes along and says, “Is this doable? Does this still make sense?” “Yes,” you meekly insist and Saturn just laughs. Kids, I hate to break it to you, but some of your dreams are going to die. You aren’t going to be a famous musician. No one is going to discover you. From here on out, you get more and more washed up by the day. Haha, just kidding. We want you getting distinguished. For some of you, you’ll be able to turn to dream into reality by breaking it down into smaller goals and showing up for said goals every damn day.
Best case scenario: building your empire becomes a lifestyle.
It’s time you realize how valuable your time and resources are.
Your friend invites you to go to a thing on a Tuesday night; the old you would’ve said, “fuck it, why not?” But the new you will say, “no fuck that; I don’t want to be tired at work tomorrow and I’d rather spend money on a night out somewhere I’m certain I’ll like.”
Plainly, it’s about priorities and knowing who the fuck you are.
Your 20s are all about experimentation; your 30s are about self-actualization. You’ve been around the block at this point. You know what you’re about and you ain’t got time to waste. Saturn is about crystallization. Saturn is also about limits, and you will be shown where your lane is. You must know your limits, your boundaries, what’s possible/what’s not, what’s realistic/what’s not. Time is the most distinct limit we have to obey. You’ve got an allotted amount of it and now you must use it wisely!
You’ll have time to change your mind again later at your midlife crisis, but for now, you need to build something with what you’ve got. Build the adult life you’ve been putting off. And do it well! One of my favorite astrologers, Rick Levine says “Change is inevitable, growth is optional.” But if you don’t change now, it will be much harder later on.
Saturn really isn’t a bad guy, I promise. The Saturn archetype is the wise elder, who is actually rooting for us! Think of Saturn as a stern, loving parent like Yoda, Dumbledore or Gandalf, or even Tabatha Coffey, Gordon Ramsay or John Taffer. They will all tell you how much you suck, but then tell you how awesome you are once you take the steps to improve.
How long will this last? Saturn is in Capricorn until through December 2020. No matter what, your Saturn return always lasts for a long as Saturn transits the sign. For everyone, it’s a 2.5-3-year journey. Mine just wrapped up, and I will tell you that it’s hard facing reality, but it’s so worth it. I know you can do it and become a more polished version of yourself on the other side of it! And from what I hear, the work never gets easier, it just becomes part what you do to ensure your security, success and eventual happiness. And this kind of happiness is not fleeting like a cupcake. This is the long-term joy that comes from labor, dedication and cultivation – the kind that doesn't come easy. Real talk. You are creating your CASTLE, your LEGACY and living your PURPOSE. ....And GO!
Lots of Love,
Your new Saturn enthusiast,

February is a fruitful month of introspection, without losing sight of our concrete building plans. Inherently, this is the time of year where much is going on beneath the surface: plants are gestating within the Earth, preparing to burst through the soil, and similarly, this is a time where we are internally planning for what's ahead. Imagination active, we visualize what we will do in the warmer months.
This month, the Sun, Venus and Mercury will enter Pisces, diffusing our Saturn-in-Capricorn focus for just a moment so that our imagination can become the vehicle of possibility. Pisces has everything to do with fantasy; so return to your ideal vision of what you are creating for just a moment (and be watchful not to indulge the fears too much). It's a time of creativity: get in your own world and love it there. Our architect, Saturn in Capricorn will be holding our hand the whole way - keeping us grounded and reminding us about the logistics - so that next month, we can begin to go after it some more.
But above all, it's about creating meaning. What's the spiritual purpose behind your work?
On February 1st, we celebrate the cross-quarter holiday known as IMBOLC, the midpoint of the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. The days get longer as Gaia reawakens, and it won't be long until we begin to see early signs of life on the floor of the Earth. IMBOLC is the first of 3 fertility holidays. February can be a month of visualization: what will you desire to bring forth in the warmer months? Probably the least impressive bastardization of Pagan holidays, Imbolc's modern parallel is known as "Groundhogs Day;" and regardless of what the critter does tomorrow morning, Spring is on its way.
February 3rd: It's possible that we are feeling energetically zapped today, as it's a day of release, letting go... We might say a quiet goodbye to something: "Thanks for the memories, but I'm finished with that, peace out." It's also a time where people who are ready to leave take their exit.
Adding to the laziness, Venus and Jupiter team up to give us "too much of a good thing." This combo can leave us with an insatiable hunger for MORE - prone to extravagance, indulgence, spending money or extreme idealism. The caution is that this overdoing might be overcompensation for something more psychological. Often when hunger is continuously insatiable, it's an allegory for something deeper we are craving. Best case scenario: eat your Valentine's day chocolate early and have sex with someone you can laugh with. Open, open, open to receive, receive, receive. Connect with your loved ones in a celebratory way.
(***This was also the day that Uma Thurman's story emerged; the Harvey Weinstein scandals broke and the #metoo movement began the same week that Jupiter entered Scorpio; here is a classic example of this energy being activated both in the skies and here on Earth.)
February 4th: Active minds and motor-mouth. Mercury sextiles Mars, stimulating verbal connection. Let’s philosophize together: “If everyone would just ___, the world would be a better place!” You fill in the blank with your crew today. Excellent for writing, sports or Superbowl watch parties.
February 6th: It's Tuesday, but it feels like a Friday. Venus teams up with Uranus to turn the voltage up a notch. It's a great day to run errands, get things done, facetime your friend or meet up with friends after work. This little smidgen of extra energy emboldens us to take a small risk to mix things up: wear the vivid lipstick or take the scenic route home.
February 9th: Another day of releasing old ideology that no longer supports us. Make room for a new motto, new idea, declutter your desk drawer. Unlearn something. Parting words. Purge anything old and outworn in your immediate environment. (Mercury on the South Node)
* Venus enters Pisces February 10th.
*Mercury, on February 17th
*Sun, on February 18th
Soften, open and connect. Pisces season is about connecting to something greater than you: spirituality, service, kindness, compassion, selflessness. Where are you willing to sacrifice? Pisces is the most subjective sign; it knows no hard lines, but only circles and clouds.
Hearts open, Third Eye perceptive...
Dreamy, artistic, creative, idealist, open, go-with-the-flow....
Timeless, formless, don't-put-me-in-a-box, we are all one; I am you, you are me. I'm a spiritual being having a temporary human experience. I have been every gender, race, religion, rich, poor, every facet of the God-mind....
Saturday, February 10th: Boundless energy, optimism, indulgence, confidence, eagerness, prone to excess and overdoing (due to the Sun's square to Jupiter in Scorpio). Go BIG; be LUMINOUS. "Here I am, whether you like it or not!"
We might also see more breaking stories around sexual misconduct. Last week, Venus squared Jupiter and we heard Uma Thurman's story; today, we might hear from a man. Darkness comes to light; humiliation, shame, disempowerment are transmuted into power, voice, a telling of truth, teaching.
Also today, Venus enters Pisces, amplifying compassion, love, empathy, sympathy, spiritual devotion, devotion to an ideal, or someone you love; fantasy, fairytale love, come to the rescue, sacrifice for another, acts of selflessness, prayer, meditation, romance, theater, poetry, love letters, art, music, yoga... Venus is what we like, what we prefer, while Pisces is the ideal. In a perfect world, what do you want? Finetune this vision through March 6th, when Venus changes signs.
Tuesday, February 13th: be mindful with words today, as we are more prone to oversharing, saying too much or not being able to communicate clearly and directly. Ideas may get lost in delivery. But if gossip is your thing, it's gonna be a juicy couple of days. Mercury squares Jupiter, which also gives way to preachy dialogue, speaking too loudly or voicing ideas that haven't been well thought out. Don't talk over each other too much!
And again, Jupiter in Scorpio is activated, but this time by Mercury, who often represents young people, children. Continuing with the theme of exposing sexual misconduct, watch for stories about sex trafficking, young actors/actresses, or predatory behavior. Additionally, Mercury rules written documents, emails, letters, etc; perhaps an incriminating document comes to light, or someone testifies on behalf of the Russia investigation.
February 15th, 2018 :: 4:05 pm EST :: 27⁰07’ Aquarius :: Partial Solar Eclipse
Solar eclipses are supercharged New Moons laced with karma and dharma, to get us on the right track. In Aquarius, it's our group affiliations. friends and network that become illuminated in a new way, helping us to detach from those that no longer serve our greater purpose, and align more closely with those that challenge us to grow.
Aquarius represents the hivemind, where we gravitate towards those who share our vision of the world and the future. Aquarius is as much about being an individual as it is about being in a group: you can have both!
This is a big lunation for break-ups. And sometimes, if you know you need to move on, but don't have the courage, eclipses will remove things from your life for you. Certain commitments and contracts are up for review (new terms and conditions may apply) and in renegotiating the terms, it's important that you voice your ideas - no matter how crazy or "out-there" you think you might sound. Aquarius is an intellectual sign, emphasizing originality, and future-forward ideas.
Jupiter helps us to release fear about not being accepted for who we are at our core, while the Aquarian energy helps us to detach from the emotional part of ourselves that wants to keep showing up in these groups for the wrong reasons. Eclipses are about aligning with your greater purpose. Honor your own unique path, individuality, creativity and unique perspective by sharing space with those who welcome your assets.
***In a political sidenote:
This Eclipse falls on the United States' natal moon. Plainly, this could be a really big deal. In the third house of communications, it would highlight media, internet, education and transportation.
It also closely aspects the angles in Trump's chart, falling in his 6th house of public servants. Perhaps we will see people in his political party abandon their allegiance.
Additionally, the eclipse chart cast for the United States activates ALL of the lady asteroids:
*Eclipse conjunct Juno, semi-square Lilith
*Quintile Vesta and Pallas Athena
*Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) conjunct Eris
It will be interesting to see what happens....
And forward we go...
February 17th- 26th: We officially enter the foggy forest of Piscean domain. We can expect to feel more tired than usual, as the solar eclipse usually zaps some of our energy. Compounding the situation, Mars squares Neptune, which can make us aimless. The key to mastering this aspect is to seek fluid motion: practice yoga, meditate, sing, dance, pray, create art, wander, get lost on purpose - in movies, books, in the woods, daydream.
The trouble is that not everyone has the freedom in their schedule to access such fluidity. So after dragging your feet, you find your escape hatch - whatever that may be. Maybe you have a healthy escape, but other popular not-so-healhty escapes are alcohol, weed, ignorance, spiritual bypassing, avoidance.
"In a perfect world____"
Unfortunately, we don't live in that world.
But our minds and hearts are capable of imagining it. Venus conjoins Neptune to truly connect with our idealistic desires, creating friction with cold hard reality. Mercury sextiles Saturn to help us stay grounded and keep our dreams in check. Of course anything is possible and miracles do happen. But for now, we hold our idealism as inspiration, while we build something with the materials available to us here and now.
All of this said, it's a great time for romance. Because LOVE is the universal solvent, miracle intoxicant and elevator above this heavier dimension where mountains CAN be moved in the name of love. LOVE is the very fabric of this universe, but here on Earth, we live in duality and the greatest illusion that exists is separateness. We win when we overcome differences and hold space for one another's divinity and darkness at the same time. Valentine's day should be extra sweet this year!
Use whatever comes up for you this week as firewood. February 27th and 28th present the opportunity to receive a deeper message. What's the meaning? How can I use this? How has your perspective shifted? What do you want to go after now? Process, process, process, transmute, transmute... now build!
Aho Mitakyue Oyasin. May Mother Earth and all her inhabitants be awakened to our unity, and the highest LOVE of the Universe.
Love, peace and unity to ALL....
January 16th, 2018: New Moon in Capricorn, 9:17 pm EST, 26⁰ 54'
Holy Shakti! There are six planets in Capricorn! The message is loud and clear: FOCUS.
Since Saturn’s recent ingress into Capricorn, we have been feeling our feet more firmly planted on the ground and the superfluous “what if’s” dissipate. We have done enough soul-searching (for now); we’ve tried on all the hats and now it’s time to pick one – and make it the right one. It’s time to get serious about giving form to our potential – do what you know, do it well, and make it meaningful.
While Saturn resides in Capricorn for the next 3 years, this is the first New Moon since it’s ingress (and in its own sign no less!), which offers us a period of planning. This could be the to time to draw up your 3-year plan of actualization – then break down each year into quarters and so forth. Capricorn is all about building supportive structures that will stand the test of time. And time is valuable – we don’t want to waste it either – so maybe we need to create an itinerary to help streamline our process toward our goals.
With 6 planets in Capricorn, we are not only planting seeds, we are sowing an entire field. Capricorn loves the saying “measure twice, cut once,” so if you aren’t completely clear on your master plan yet, go to your drawing board. Writing is the first step to giving your ideas form.
Capricorn can sometimes be pessimistic or doubtful. Trust that the experience you have and the wisdom you’ve gained is enough to give you EXACTLY what you need right now. Work within your means and you’ll have everything you need. No one ever knows it all, and life still goes on. Capricorn is a sign that honors limits and reason, but also MASTERY.
Uranus squares the New Moon, reminding us that there will always be disruptions along the path, but you’ve got to maintain your focus. Stay cool, stay centered and return your gaze. A mini grand trine supports us to have confidence in our abilities as we begin this new chapter of becoming.
****It’s with this New Moon that ECLIPSE SEASON BEGINS! Pay attention to the subtle changes in your bodies (you have more than one) as you move through the next couple of weeks as we approach a Leo Lunar Eclipse. Often, everything just feels more intense during eclipse season. It can feel like karmic tax season, where we rebalance our cosmic currency. Reap rewards or pay up. The good news is that it's also a time of spiritual course correction. If you have veered too far away from what you came here to do, you will be directed back. Watch for opportunities to grow! Eclipse season is 6 weeks long and begins now!
This New Moon also occurs within 1 degree of the United State’s natal Pluto in the 2nd house of values and money. Let's see what happens.
And a little bit of Aquarius...
Venus and the Sun respectively enter Aquarius on January 17th and 19th. Venus is more concerned with her friendships and group affiliations now than romantic interests. If you are dating right now, this is a time where cerebral connection may be stronger than physical attraction.
Aquarius marks the peak of winter; it’s symbol is akin to electric airwaves. When it’s this cold, there is no moisture in the air and we get static electricity – shocking! Its symbol could also reference wi-fi or telekinesis. Either way, it’s about getting zapped with new ideas by connecting with like-minded people, who share your vision for the future… especially once Mercury joins the Aquarius brigade on the 31st.
Friday, January 19th: Get inspired! Mercury sextiles Neptune, which is perfect for making a vision board (ok, or a pinterest board). Get excited about what you are creating. Neptune tends to over-inflate for better or for worse, so heed making mountains out of mole hills. Visualize your goals manifest.
January 23rd- 25th: Go within, see things for what they are. The debris has been cleared from your lenses and it’s a stark difference from the way you used to see it. Mercury conjoins Pluto and sextiles Jupiter in Scorpio. We’ve been processing a lot of our experiences lately and now we arrive at another crux. It might be ugly, it might be beautiful, but above all it’s empowering to face the reality of our experiences – shadow and all. What’s the story? Jupiter helps us to rewrite the dialogue from one of wounding to one of growth and wisdom.
January 26th: Ok, we can lighten up now! The Gemini Moon adopts a lighthearted, playful swagger. Keep the jokes coming! Mars enters Sagittarius, tempting us to toss our resolutions in the fireplace and resume debauchery. Mars in Sagittarius seeks to find “the moral of the story,” and one of his favorites is “eat, drink and be merry…”
Mars will be in Sagittarius until mid-March, inviting us to get excited about the journey we are on. Mars in Sag seeks meaning. Working in tandem with Jupiter in Scorpio who is exposing all of the rot, shadows and psychological wounding, Mars in Sag helps us to rewrite the Epic. You are living the Hero’s Journey. You are the protagonist of your life, and the protagonist always overcomes and is always victorious.
Mars in Sag also wants to explore, broaden the mind, and attain greater understanding. The challenge will be to remain rooted in our Saturn project, as we are tempted by seemingly greener pastures.
January 31st, 2018, 8:26 am EDT:
Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse, 11⁰37’ Leo
Love is your birthright; you were born to be fully expressed, adored, radiant, unfiltered…
But at some point when we were young, we realized that we can get in trouble for expressing our hearts truth, so we learned how to adapt in world with social constructs.
This Lunar eclipse can help us to objectively see where we have toned it down waaay too much. Leo governs all matters of the heart: passion, play, children, creativity, gratitude, appreciation and pleasure.
The Sun and Venus conjoin the South Node in Aquarius, inviting us to release old ideology that limits us from experiencing a fuller heart. Aquarius is of the mental realm, so perhaps it’s your idea of what love or friendship looks like that is cutting you off from more enjoyment in the present! The Moon inconjuncts Neptune, helping us to ditch the idealist vision. What you have in front of you is perfectly imperfect, so cherish it now.
In the same current, maybe you are in an unloving or unsupportive dynamic. Sometimes “we accept the love we think we deserve;” this lunar eclipse can help you see that you deserve better.
But since Leo is about leadership, how can we take responsibility for our own pleasure? What's the drama you play into that keeps you from experiencing more love? With the usual flow of light (information) disrupted, we can see our usual patterns in a new way, gaining greater awareness of ourselves. It doesn't have to be dramatic to be enjoyable. Notice where you hold your truth back from being fully known. Does it serve you?
Recount the strides you’ve already taken to experience more love in your life since August, when we had the Leo Solar eclipse. We will continue to open up to more joy and gratitude through the end of 2018.
The Moon combines with Ceres, producing a Queen Mother archetype. So of course, I checked Queen Elizabeth’s chart and sure enough, she shares this configuration natally. It’s no wonder The Crown is gaining popularity in its second season. This eclipse falls on her Moon, followed by another eclipse in July which highlights her nodal and ascendant/descendent axes. Plainly, The Queen’s legacy is hugely illuminated this year.
In another political side-note: This eclipse occurs on Trump’s natal Pluto, highlighting his relationship with power. Whether we like him or not, he is a man of influence, holing one of the most powerful positions on the world stage. However, he is also widely known to misuse and abuse his power and frequently indulges in power-tripping. Watch and see if he engages in another power-play, implodes in powerlessness or pays up for misdeeds. Donald was born on a lunar eclipse, so he is more sensitive to them.
Aho Mitakyue Oyasin. May Mother Earth and all her inhabitants be awakened to our unity, and the highest LOVE of the Universe.
Love, peace and unity to ALL....
New Year’s Day brings a Full Moon in Cancer, ripening to 10⁰21 Cancer, at 7:24 pm EST.
The Cancer Full Moon arrives in the timely wake of the holidays. Cancer rules our roots, family, and homeland, but it’s also the pack we roll in. The Cancer Full Moon illuminates our awareness in regard to what family means. Chances are, you spent your holidays with your loved ones. What is the takeaway? What traditions resonate with you? What makes you feel at home?
Maybe you are feeling especially worn out after the holidays and you need some extra TLC. The sign of Cancer also represents the nurturing principle, so connect with the rituals that help bring you back to center. Nourish. Replenish. Practice self-care.
Ruling our roots, Cancer also rules our infancy. Human babies cannot survive without the nurturing of others. At that age, we are functioning from a primal, instinctual level. We do not yet know the spoken language, relying purely on our senses. We respond to our environment at a young age with noises, laughs and tears; as adults it could be our body language and our facial expressions, which ironically are still subconscious! The Full Moon is going to intensify these very senses, so pay attention to your responses and feelings.
Compounding these instinctual responses, Mars approaches a conjunction to Jupiter. This is kind of a big deal. The Full Moon trines the duo, serving as a taproot from the subconscious habits to the conscious. Mars perfects its union with Jupiter on January 6th, so we have the entirety of this lunation to gain clarity on how these two sides of ourselves are so intimately connected.
Mars conjunct Jupiter is going to bring more exposure to the occulted shadow we all carry – personally and collectively. Since Jupiter entered Scorpio in October, several people have been ousted for inappropriate behavior. Mars is going to animate this theme even more. The Vedic name for Jupiter is Guru, which means teacher, but literally translates as: “from darkness to light.” It’s those very disempowering experiences that can become our greatest teachers. Mars brings an eagerness to dig deeper. Unpleasant at first, but the sooner the pain can be processed, the more comfortable we can be in our skin. There is much power to be gained from surviving, but even more empowerment by thriving.
Additionally, this combo can be insanely competitive, healing and/or sexual. If you are trying to conceive, practice tantra or sex magick, this lunation is supremely potent, boosting virility and eroticism. Other primal reflexes are anger, territorialism, sadness, or laughter. The only caution is on how we release emotions such as anger, so as not to lower too much into the animal brain, but rather to ask ourselves, what are these instinctual responses showing me? What’s the lesson?
Mars and Jupiter square the nodes of destiny offering us the choice to evolve or stay. This potent energy offers us a huge invitation to move forward with courage and a willingness to face the deepest part of ourselves. We’ve got two weeks; now go forth! (And don’t forget to nurture yourself!!!)
January 2nd: The Wild Card
Uranus stations direct at 24⁰34’ Aries. If you’ve got planets at this degree (any sign), it’s probably a very exciting time in your life! Big changes, sudden revelations, jars exploding in your kitchen, nervous breakdowns and breakthroughs… And similarly for the collective, we can expect some extra stress dodging these curve-balls.
Intuitively, I feel like someone may make a discovery, or find a loophole of some sort that can turn things around. Uranus is moving forward, remember, along with Mercury. We are retracing our steps; the Republican Tax Bill and the Net Neutrality Bill were recently passed within just one week. They say it's final, but Uranus is like Robin Hood, the rebel who up-swoops the status quo. Let’s see if there’s a rebuttal.
If someone pulls the wild card on you, remember that this energy is meant to AWAKEN, to stir the pot. Uranus stations can make us more anxious, high strung or energized, so make sure you have outlets. And try to be open to seeing things in a new way. This energy gets wrapped into the Full Moon, again, we may be feeling this amplified energy for the next two weeks.
January 2nd and 3rd: Sun and Venus sextile Neptune, inviting inspiration and idealism that you can use. Get a positive boost and let your creativity flow.
January 6th: Mars and Jupiter perfect their conjunction (see Full Moon above); Mercury trines Uranus, bringing an inventive, creative, hyper-perceptive quality. See things for what they are. Pick up the pieces, see the clues and put it all together.
January 8th: Sun and Venus sextile Mars and Jupiter; if the revelations shook you up this past week, this is the rainbow after the storm. You’re on the other side of it and feeling more positive now. Mars sextiles Pluto, offering resourcefulness and an unrelenting will to keep going. How can I use these gifts?
January 9th: a vivid day indeed. Most importantly, Eris stations direct. Eris is the archetype of the enraged and the excluded. We’ve been hearing a lot from Eris lately. She made her first conjunction (since her discovery) with an outer planet in 2016, igniting the BLM movement, Bernie Sanders’ grass roots political movement, NFL players kneeling, the Women’s March in DC the day after the inauguration and even now, the wave of #metoo confessions – all of these movements are saying the same thing: “we’ve had enough!” We can expect to be hearing from Eris today in a big way. Eris has zero fucks left to give, so let’s see who has a meltdown or makes a big political statement.
Venus overtakes the Sun as they cross over Pluto. It’s a race and Venus, love, wins. Look for small victories. And I say small because Venus is combust, (burnt up) under the sun’s rays. However, she does move ahead. It’s as if we are all wondering, “where is the love?” determined to love harder in a world that can be so callous.
Venus conjunct Pluto: intense love, obsessions. Pay attention to where you get fixated with finances or relationships.
Sun conjunct Pluto: power, embodiment, awareness, evolution, mastery, growth, transformation, empowerment, will to succeed, healing.
January 11th: Mercury enters Capricorn, effectively clearing his shadow and completing the retrograde story. On to something new! If you haven’t yet envisioned your year ahead, now is an excellent time to set goals and plan.
Mercury in Capricorn wants to get serious and focus on strategy. For those living in colder regions, you’ll want to take extra vitamin D, as this extra seriousness can also manifest as depression or feeling blue. If you are prone to seasonal blues, arm yourself with positive music and good friends.
The positive side of the negative mind is developing caution, realism, careful planning, pragmatism and FOCUS. Mercury conjoins Saturn tomorrow, for an added dose of temperance. But not to worry, things should brighten up a bit in a few days.
The Moon is void all day. So go ahead and relax if you can.
January 13th and 14th: Sun and Venus square Uranus: Illumination; urge to break free from anything that’s limiting. What’s stopping you from more joy, more bliss, from living in more of your truth? Is there a practical way over the hurdle? Remember, Mercury in Capricorn wants to operate responsibly, so we aren’t as reckless as we would otherwise be with this aspect. Do less of something, so that you can do more of what you enjoy. Design a new schedule that supports your innate freedom and creativity.
January 14th: Venus and Sun sextile Chiron: the wisdom borne of the healing process. See how far you have come!
January 15th: Jupiter sextiles Pluto for the first of 3 times. This is about exposing the rot, the ugliness. Pay attention to what emerges today because it may become a theme that we work with all year. Watch for themes of corruption, manipulation, taking advantage of others, use of power, whistleblowing, and truth-bombs. This aspect could also be about sex or finances. Both planets are focused on exposing the TRUTH in order for GROWTH and TRANSFORMATION to take place on a massive level. Wahe Guru!
Aho Mitakyue Oyasin. May Mother Earth and all her inhabitants be awakened to our unity, and the highest LOVE of the Universe.
Love, peace and unity to ALL....
