New Year’s Day brings a Full Moon in Cancer, ripening to 10⁰21 Cancer, at 7:24 pm EST.
The Cancer Full Moon arrives in the timely wake of the holidays. Cancer rules our roots, family, and homeland, but it’s also the pack we roll in. The Cancer Full Moon illuminates our awareness in regard to what family means. Chances are, you spent your holidays with your loved ones. What is the takeaway? What traditions resonate with you? What makes you feel at home?
Maybe you are feeling especially worn out after the holidays and you need some extra TLC. The sign of Cancer also represents the nurturing principle, so connect with the rituals that help bring you back to center. Nourish. Replenish. Practice self-care.
Ruling our roots, Cancer also rules our infancy. Human babies cannot survive without the nurturing of others. At that age, we are functioning from a primal, instinctual level. We do not yet know the spoken language, relying purely on our senses. We respond to our environment at a young age with noises, laughs and tears; as adults it could be our body language and our facial expressions, which ironically are still subconscious! The Full Moon is going to intensify these very senses, so pay attention to your responses and feelings.
Compounding these instinctual responses, Mars approaches a conjunction to Jupiter. This is kind of a big deal. The Full Moon trines the duo, serving as a taproot from the subconscious habits to the conscious. Mars perfects its union with Jupiter on January 6th, so we have the entirety of this lunation to gain clarity on how these two sides of ourselves are so intimately connected.
Mars conjunct Jupiter is going to bring more exposure to the occulted shadow we all carry – personally and collectively. Since Jupiter entered Scorpio in October, several people have been ousted for inappropriate behavior. Mars is going to animate this theme even more. The Vedic name for Jupiter is Guru, which means teacher, but literally translates as: “from darkness to light.” It’s those very disempowering experiences that can become our greatest teachers. Mars brings an eagerness to dig deeper. Unpleasant at first, but the sooner the pain can be processed, the more comfortable we can be in our skin. There is much power to be gained from surviving, but even more empowerment by thriving.
Additionally, this combo can be insanely competitive, healing and/or sexual. If you are trying to conceive, practice tantra or sex magick, this lunation is supremely potent, boosting virility and eroticism. Other primal reflexes are anger, territorialism, sadness, or laughter. The only caution is on how we release emotions such as anger, so as not to lower too much into the animal brain, but rather to ask ourselves, what are these instinctual responses showing me? What’s the lesson?
Mars and Jupiter square the nodes of destiny offering us the choice to evolve or stay. This potent energy offers us a huge invitation to move forward with courage and a willingness to face the deepest part of ourselves. We’ve got two weeks; now go forth! (And don’t forget to nurture yourself!!!)
January 2nd: The Wild Card
Uranus stations direct at 24⁰34’ Aries. If you’ve got planets at this degree (any sign), it’s probably a very exciting time in your life! Big changes, sudden revelations, jars exploding in your kitchen, nervous breakdowns and breakthroughs… And similarly for the collective, we can expect some extra stress dodging these curve-balls.
Intuitively, I feel like someone may make a discovery, or find a loophole of some sort that can turn things around. Uranus is moving forward, remember, along with Mercury. We are retracing our steps; the Republican Tax Bill and the Net Neutrality Bill were recently passed within just one week. They say it's final, but Uranus is like Robin Hood, the rebel who up-swoops the status quo. Let’s see if there’s a rebuttal.
If someone pulls the wild card on you, remember that this energy is meant to AWAKEN, to stir the pot. Uranus stations can make us more anxious, high strung or energized, so make sure you have outlets. And try to be open to seeing things in a new way. This energy gets wrapped into the Full Moon, again, we may be feeling this amplified energy for the next two weeks.
January 2nd and 3rd: Sun and Venus sextile Neptune, inviting inspiration and idealism that you can use. Get a positive boost and let your creativity flow.
January 6th: Mars and Jupiter perfect their conjunction (see Full Moon above); Mercury trines Uranus, bringing an inventive, creative, hyper-perceptive quality. See things for what they are. Pick up the pieces, see the clues and put it all together.
January 8th: Sun and Venus sextile Mars and Jupiter; if the revelations shook you up this past week, this is the rainbow after the storm. You’re on the other side of it and feeling more positive now. Mars sextiles Pluto, offering resourcefulness and an unrelenting will to keep going. How can I use these gifts?
January 9th: a vivid day indeed. Most importantly, Eris stations direct. Eris is the archetype of the enraged and the excluded. We’ve been hearing a lot from Eris lately. She made her first conjunction (since her discovery) with an outer planet in 2016, igniting the BLM movement, Bernie Sanders’ grass roots political movement, NFL players kneeling, the Women’s March in DC the day after the inauguration and even now, the wave of #metoo confessions – all of these movements are saying the same thing: “we’ve had enough!” We can expect to be hearing from Eris today in a big way. Eris has zero fucks left to give, so let’s see who has a meltdown or makes a big political statement.
Venus overtakes the Sun as they cross over Pluto. It’s a race and Venus, love, wins. Look for small victories. And I say small because Venus is combust, (burnt up) under the sun’s rays. However, she does move ahead. It’s as if we are all wondering, “where is the love?” determined to love harder in a world that can be so callous.
Venus conjunct Pluto: intense love, obsessions. Pay attention to where you get fixated with finances or relationships.
Sun conjunct Pluto: power, embodiment, awareness, evolution, mastery, growth, transformation, empowerment, will to succeed, healing.
January 11th: Mercury enters Capricorn, effectively clearing his shadow and completing the retrograde story. On to something new! If you haven’t yet envisioned your year ahead, now is an excellent time to set goals and plan.
Mercury in Capricorn wants to get serious and focus on strategy. For those living in colder regions, you’ll want to take extra vitamin D, as this extra seriousness can also manifest as depression or feeling blue. If you are prone to seasonal blues, arm yourself with positive music and good friends.
The positive side of the negative mind is developing caution, realism, careful planning, pragmatism and FOCUS. Mercury conjoins Saturn tomorrow, for an added dose of temperance. But not to worry, things should brighten up a bit in a few days.
The Moon is void all day. So go ahead and relax if you can.
January 13th and 14th: Sun and Venus square Uranus: Illumination; urge to break free from anything that’s limiting. What’s stopping you from more joy, more bliss, from living in more of your truth? Is there a practical way over the hurdle? Remember, Mercury in Capricorn wants to operate responsibly, so we aren’t as reckless as we would otherwise be with this aspect. Do less of something, so that you can do more of what you enjoy. Design a new schedule that supports your innate freedom and creativity.
January 14th: Venus and Sun sextile Chiron: the wisdom borne of the healing process. See how far you have come!
January 15th: Jupiter sextiles Pluto for the first of 3 times. This is about exposing the rot, the ugliness. Pay attention to what emerges today because it may become a theme that we work with all year. Watch for themes of corruption, manipulation, taking advantage of others, use of power, whistleblowing, and truth-bombs. This aspect could also be about sex or finances. Both planets are focused on exposing the TRUTH in order for GROWTH and TRANSFORMATION to take place on a massive level. Wahe Guru!
Aho Mitakyue Oyasin. May Mother Earth and all her inhabitants be awakened to our unity, and the highest LOVE of the Universe.
Love, peace and unity to ALL....
We’ve done enough seeking. The future is NOW.
It's time to find your TRUE PURPOSE, and fully embody it. Capricorn is a physical sign, where we ground down the Sagittarian ideals. In the physical dimension, we must act. No more complaining, no more wishing. Either make it happen, or quit wasting energy.
Saturn is at home in Capricorn, where personal responsibility, integrity and the fruits of our actions (karma) amount to something. Every action has a reaction; words are of equal vibratory nature that makes up everything tangible. Look around. See things for what they are. 2016 and 2017 notoriously blurred lines to the point where nothing seemed clear. But now, it's going to be starkly different.
One thing that is excruciatingly clear is that the current order is no longer supportive of the majority, but only a select few.
In the United States, the rot has been gradually exposed since 2008 with the crash of the housing market. Not coincidentally, the plummet coincided with Pluto's ingress into Capricorn. Pluto doesn't give two shits whether we learn the lesson or not, but Saturn does indeed. Saturn is like the stern teacher who calls you out on all of your BS; at first you hate him, but then you later realize that he really cared about your success and well-being all along. It's about respect. No more baby games. Saturn has returned to his home sign, like parents coming home after their teenagers threw a kegger.
No doubt, the peak of this 3-year transit will be the conjunction (union) of Saturn and Pluto, occurring in January, 2020.
The last time Saturn and Pluto conjoined was during the Reagan Era, which seeded the very snag which led to the unraveling of the middle class. Trickle down economics? Tax breaks were given to the wealthy, which has amounted to the bulk of the issues we are dealing with now.
Occupy Wall Street seems to mark first distinct outcry against the massive inequality of wealth. But it wasn't enough; the movement lacked concrete (Saturn) goals to achieve change. But finally, Saturn is here to help. In one single week, the FCC abolished Net Neutrality and the Republicans passed a widely opposed tax bill, serving the interests of the wealthy elite. Saturn is all about sobering up, and now we are all waking up from the "American Dream," and realizing it is only but a dream. As this 30 year cycle comes to a close, it's our responsibility to learn from our mistakes and do better this next time around.
Pluto is all about power; use/misuse/abuse; moving from powerlessness to empowerment; exposing the truth, healing and evolution. Saturn wants to create a structure around power and lay some ground rules. Everything is up for review: What's acceptable and what's not? We can only hope that the recent theme of holding people accountable for inappropriate behavior can extend beyond Hollywood and into the corporate and federal rings.
A LOT has changed since the 1980's: globalization, technology, the internet,
increased life expectancy...
Saturn wants to know what the rules are. Speed limits and traffic lights were created long after people were driving cars. In many cases, rules create order and can help protect. So it's no wonder that people are now trying to regulate the internet. The problem, however, is that the terms and conditions of the Net Neutrality Bill are oppressive to most people, instead serving corporate interest.
We are, however, in a time when children are technologically more advanced than their parents, ushering in a whole new set of concerns around safety. In the next three years, we might see more programs introduced to help parents regulate their children's online activity.
Interestingly, the last time Saturn was in Capricorn and Jupiter was in Scorpio was 1959. My mother was born in 1959 and recently lamented that "there is no rule book for this! How do we know if we are doing to right thing in making choices for our parents?" She stated that her generation is paving the path of rearing children and then caring for their parents in a similar fashion. Over the next 3 years, we might collectively try to figure this out.
We are living longer, so how does this affect things like retirement, IRA's and social security? How can be better prepare for our own inevitable ageing? And how can we support our elders (and inevitably ourselves) as they age?
recently saw a brochure for a retirement community which boasted top-notch art classes for their residents; now that's awesome! I hope to see retirement communities begin to look as enticing as college campuses. If you live to be 90, where would you like to be living? And how will these facilities be funded?
Skin, bones, teeth and hair (all indicators of age) are also under Saturn/Capricorn's domain. We might see advances in dentistry, skin-care, anti-ageing and even in hip-replacements. Recently, scientists discovered the gene responsible for grey hair and balding - both symptoms of ageing! Let the clinical trials begin.
The Good News:
Saturn in Capricorn has limits. This ingress signals a time of getting realistic about your time, priorities and goals. Simplify to have only what is necessary. Slow it down and say no to unnecessary clutter in your life.
A slower pace means that we can steady our stance, our drishdi and our mudra; ground it ALL down.
TRUE FREEDOM COMES FROM NOT HAVING TO WORRY!
Doing the necessary Saturn work of having a steady paycheck, visiting the dentist every 6 months and the mechanic every 4 months ensures the lower risk of chaos. Live within the means of WHATS POSSIBLE. The last 3 years challenged us to push beyond our wildest dreams, and now its simply about sustainability so we don't crash and burn.
And a bit of Bad News:
Saturn/Capricorn deals with conservation and conservatism, so things may have to get worse before they can get better. Fears breed stricter safety measures, born out of a 3-year-era of xenophobia, Black Lives Matter and gender equality. So we may first witness greater attempts to control, restrict and regulate.
But nature conservation would be an excellent thing! As Uranus moves into Taurus in May of 2018, we will shift our focus to sustainable farming and infusing technology with agriculture. This is where Saturn in Capricorn will be exceptionally helpful! Watch for when Saturn trines Uranus July- October 2018.
What about Me?
This transit affects everyone collectively, however it's gonna feel personal for some:
If more than one of these apply to you, feel free to contact me at any time. I'd be happy to guide you through it. Saturn transits can be very challenging, as it's all about growing up.
If your birthday falls into the aforementioned dates, congratulations! You are beginning your first or second Saturn return. If it's your second, think back to 28-30 years ago. What was going on for you? How were you challenged and how did you grow? Watch for similar themes repeating.
If you are having your first Saturn return, here's a special article just for you! Everyone's first Saturn return is a Rite of Passage into adulthood. It's an invitation to get serious about creating the life you actually want. Your twenties are all about experimentation, and your thirties are about crystallization. But before you can crystallize, you must get realistic with yourself.
You are going to feel old.
This is when you notice your first forehead wrinkle, find your first grey hair, have your first root canal and see a specialist for your aching back. You've played the bachelor card and now you've gotta decide if you want a family or not because your female peers have a biological clock you are unfamiliar with. It's really about discipline, taking responsibility and learning self-preservation.
In your twenties, your motto was "I've got time." Well NOW is the time. You are going to become hyper-aware of TIME. You start making strides in your career and start saving for retirement, so that by the next time Saturn comes around when you are approaching 60, you actually have a retirement savings.
But there is much more involved, so stay tuned....
Some key dates for Saturnine Catalysts of Re-ordering:
We will get through this! It will be hard, but so worth it! Everything we are worried about now, we will strive to create solutions. Together, we can do it.
Aho Mitakyue Oyasin. May Mother Earth and all her inhabitants be awakened to our unity, and the highest LOVE of the Universe.
Love, peace and unity to ALL....
With a grim political and economic climate, we've been challenged to hold a positive vision for the future. Despite all of the technological breakthroughs, we seem to be collectively held back by politics as usual. But that is all about to change. If we can help it.
While Saturn has been in Sagittarius for the past 3 years, we formed an ideal vision for the future, which in turn seemed to divide us somewhere on the spectrum between two extremes: embracing an ideal of openness, inclusion and equality, and conversely, a protective ideal of tight borders and secularism. Walls are practical constructs which protect and give order, but they can also be oppressive.
On December 19th, Saturn moves into Capricorn, where we will be held accountable to do the work... to BE the change we want to see in the world, where we can make actual strides toward strengthening our infrastructure in a way that serves us all. Until then, we are reaffirming our vision of what we want to see in the world, and in our individual lives.
Venus perfects her alignment with the Great Attractor, Tuesday, December 12th at 7:59 am EST.
Venus represents our individual values, preferences and pleasure. What is pleasing to you? In Sagittarius, there is no limit to our pleasure, so go big or go home! What if you could have it all ─ no strings attached – what would that look like for you? The Great Attractor is essentially a black-hole-like anomaly that everything in our galaxy seems to be drifting toward. Whatever it is, it’s highly magnetic.
What do you want to draw in? On and around this day, I invite you to partake in a pleasurable ritual. Whether it’s preparing food, practicing yoga or tantra, visualize or invoke your desires to manifest. And as a reminder: be very detailed with what you wish to draw in; as the saying goes, “be careful what you wish for!”
Saturn, the planet of materialization is further amplified at the last degree of the Visionary, Sagittarius. As Saturn prepares to leave this sign, he wants to make sure we have our vision in order, because he will not return to this division of the zodiac for another 27 years!
Also on this day, Mercury aligns with the Sun to birth a new cycle around communication, mental function and self-awareness. Yes, Mercury is still retrograde, so reflection is an integral aspect of reseeding.
26⁰31’ Sagittarius ~
The Sun and Moon auspiciously align at a point known as The Galactic Center, while Saturn at the final degree of Sagittarius enters Capricorn just hours later.
It's as if we are given one last chance to imbue a higher vibration into our collective vision of the future before we go forth to do the work in Capricorn.
The Galactic Center represents TRUTH, CONSCIOUSNESS, LOVE, UNITY, ILLUMINATION and DIVINITY. We are blessed with a cosmic boost of Sagittarian-style confidence that has no limit. And we all know how much we could use the reassurance right now!
Appropriately, the Sabian Image for this degree reads: "the sculptor's vision is taking form." Who is the sculptor? We are! Together! Our shared creation is not finished; there is still time to modify before we send it to the kiln. It's not too late. Yet. Everything is alive and malleable; water molecules change shape based on our words. So it's here on this cusp that we take responsibility for our own vibration because it affects our participation as a sculptor.
This New Moon is about FREEDOM. Answering to Jupiter in Scorpio, it's the truth that sets us free. Be honest with yourself about your desires and have courage to make changes accordingly. Encapsulated in this New Moon is the possibility for healing and quantum leap in consciousness. Expect more truths to emerge within your own self-awareness and in the collective. In trine to a stationary Pallas Athene, we may have to shift our approach or strategy a bit. As scientists study the effect of emotions on water, we find that the most potent vibration is GRATITUDE; gratitude has the power to elevate you - no matter what - and that is also true freedom.
This human experience is difficult; we are not all-knowing. Our experience in this life is temporary. But on this new moon, conjunct the galactic center, we can find comfort that our souls are eternal, that we are a part of something much greater and we can be GRATEFUL for this human experience, that is as extraordinary as it is minuscule.
Saturn returns home to Capricorn on December 19, 2017, where he travels through December 17, 2020.
Pluto has been in Capricorn since 2008, when we suffered the collapse of the housing market and thousands of Americans lost their homes in foreclosure by the banks.
Pluto exposed the festering wounds of our society.
Now Saturn is here to clean it up and we all are called up to help.
Saturn in Capricorn is all about materialization, effort, duty and ambition. This is when we decide what is acceptable and what is not.
Saturn seeks to define order, and Capricorn deals with leadership and the large power structures.
It's been 30 years since Saturn was in Capricorn and our society has evolved A LOT since the 1980's... globalization, corporate growth, the internet. As Saturn prepares to ingress into Capricorn, the FCC threatens to regulate the internet. Net Neutrality is probably going to be a big theme for the next 3 years. The internet has become another dimension of human existence and stands mostly unregulated. It's now that we decide the rules.
We are in a time when children are technologically more advanced than their parents, ushering in a whole new set of issues around regulation on a more local frontier. In the next three years, we might see more programs introduced to help parents regulate their children's online activity.
Saturn/Capricorn also deals with AGE. We now live in an ageing society. The last time Saturn was in Capricorn and Jupiter was in Scorpio was 1959. The Generation born in/around 1959 is the first to rear children AND care for their ageing parents. My mother was born in 1959 and recently expressed that there is no rule book for this! Over the next 3 years, we will collectively try to figure this out. We are living longer, so how does this affect things like retirement, IRA's and social security? How can be better prepare for our own inevitable ageing? And how can we support our elders as they age? I recently saw a brochure for a retirement community which boasted top-notch art classes for their residents; now that's awesome! I hope to see retirement communities begin to look as enticing as a college campus. If you live to be 90, where would you like to be living? And how will these facilities be funded?
Skin, bones, teeth and hair are also under Saturn/Capricorn's domain. We might see advances in dentistry, skin-care, anti-ageing and even in hip-replacements. Recently, scientists discovered the gene responsible for grey hair and balding - both symptoms of ageing! Let the clinical trials begin.
BOTTOM LINE: WE HAVE EVOLVED PAST THE CURRENT ORDER
It's time for something new. The current order is so corrupt that it is no longer sustainable.
Pluto has been EXPOSING the rot.
The decay is so great that our infrastructure is no longer supportive.
It's time to rebuild.
Winter Solstice 2017
And all of these shifts come to a head when the Sun follows Saturn into Capricorn on December 21st: the shortest day of the year. Candles and strings of tiny lights symbolize the call of the Sun's return.
How special it is to experience a Sun/Saturn conjunction exact on the Winter Solstice! But we will want to watch and see what comes to light. Both planets are on a potent point of prominence known as the "world axis." Events on/around this day may correlate with Saturn's theme in Capricorn and continue to play out over the next 3 years.
As of this writing, the FCC plays to make a judgement. Whatever is decided before December 22nd will not be permanent because Mercury is retrograde. However, Mercury stations direct right on this day and beelines it toward Capricorn, where he arrives on January 12th, 2018 (and fully clears his shadow). So PAY ATTENTION on this day, December 22nd: Mercury is stationary, with the Sun and Saturn conjoined on the world axis. Big News.
Additionally, Venus arrives at the Galactic Center to ground down even more compassion, truth and love on the 22nd-23rd. HEART CHAKRA ACTIVATION. Be prepared to be more sensitive at this time. Pull it together again when Venus enters Capricorn and joins Saturn on Christmas.
On December 28th, Mars trines Neptune, which is excellent for spiritual, artistic and healing pursuits. Get creative, raise your compassion and seek your ideal expression. This can also be great for collaborating with others.
Aho Mitakyue Oyasin. May Mother Earth and all her inhabitants be awakened to our unity, and the highest LOVE of the Universe.
Love, peace and unity to ALL....
Maybe not the best Full Moon for trying new things...this time?
Full Moon 12⁰ Gemini: 12/3/2017 10:47 am EST:
~playfulness, curiosity, restlessness, wit, the mind~
The Moon is the closest to Earth right now, so we are REALLY feeling this one!
The mind is the part of self that thinks it knows. There are 3 main expressions of the mind:
Positive mind: "I can do it!"
Negative mind: "I’ll fail anyway."
Neutral mind: "It is what it is."
Ideally, we should have a healthy balance of all three. Check in and see what you are feeling now. Is it different from normal? Similarly, there is a past, present and future: 3 modes of time.
Ruler of Gemini, Mercury, has just only stationed retrograde hours earlier, stands still between the past and the future. We can see both forward and backward in time, standing right here. We have both perspective forward and back, and ability to be in the present. It is said that if you have anxiety, it's about the future; depression/guilt, the past; so we try to be in the present as much as we can, although we can't be there all of the time.
Despite the gifts, confusion can also arise. The mind is not used to operating this way, so it can GET LOST IN THE PROCESS.
Neptune tightly squares the Full Moon, which can muddle reality and distort our normal thought process. We might go to extremes of doubt and confidence, fantasy and fear, truth or untruth... Or, it’s a case of Divine Discontent – no matter what, it’s not enough! Neptune can also show us things we are grateful for, if we position ourselves to do so.
Lucky for us, Saturn conjoins Mercury, helping us to see clearly, remain grounded and aim to be pragmatic. However, the struggle is real right now. Neptune’s position is the strongest.
We are not seeing as clearly... yet. In a few days we will.
So for now,
Do not assume.
Follow the directions on the box.
Go with what you know.
Check your sources.
And don’t psyche yourself out too much. It’s a Super-Full Moon in Gemini and we are full of ideas and not all of them serve us!!
(and if you ARE curious enough to try something new and it doesn't go as planned, you'll be glad you gained the experience!)
May ALL the LOVE surround you!!!
“The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.”

Neptune Stations Direct on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2017.
Neptune stations are infamous for blurring our perception and turning us into space-cadets. We may feel spacey, groggy, sleepy or confused, and as untethered as we are, emotions will have unlimited range ─ and that could spell trouble for some of us... at least, at first.
Over the past month, Pandora's box has been opened, releasing secrets into the world regarding sexual misconduct, initiating an unraveling of magnificent proportion. Women (and men) have been unpacking a history of trauma, violation and shame on a personal and collective level, stemming back to the very roots of patriarchal conditioning. We are going deep and we are determined to heal.
For many of us, the thing that we shoved down inside us to deal with later is now bubbling up to the surface.
The shadow's emergence is reflected by Jupiter's transit through Scorpio, serving as a magnifying glass into our psyche. Neptune's station trines Jupiter in Scorpio, further enlarging these feelings.
This past weekend's New Moon in Scorpio doubled down on our ability to see our subconscious and unconscious operations. Scorpio rules our primal urges and instincts that are not easily tamed by the conscious mind. And with a rough square from Mars and Pluto, feelings such as anger, aggression, viciousness, and competition were obvious side effects. Conversely, I witnessed great strides in healing this week.
Neptune's ability to highlight the subjective experience
may HELP US to understand our feelings and reactions
that have been coming up.
Allow the spaciness. You don't HAVE to been anything right now. Get in touch with these feelings.
Float, listen to music, encourage introspection with evocative films, artwork and poetry. This is an excellent time to really pay attention to your dreams, as they can be extra vivid at this time; stay with them upon waking. What was the message? Who/what did you see? Look it up in your dream dictionary.
Use this week to gain greater insight of your own psyche. The only thing you have to do is allow.
What feelings have been coming up for me?
For me, it's been anger ─ I've been unusually reactive to small things! So now I'm exploring why.
I've noticed people posting things like “this isn’t usually me… I can usually move past this, but today I can’t…”
For the time being, our conscious mind has taken more of a backseat, allowing our subsoncsous and unconsciuous to have their say. Perhaps it's healthy for them to speak aloud sometimes, instead of constantly running in the background beyond our immediate awareness. When you can identify these feelings, then you've found your gift.
The good news is that we are moving forward.
Neptune stations direct, but before we actually begin to move forward, we may first feel stuck, even hopeless. This is where our feelings can deceive us. Neptune is the master of illusion, so the shadow monsters may seem humongous.
If this is you, remember that YOU'VE GOT THIS. Surround yourself with your support system, and most importantly have compassion for yourself. Neptune always enhances our empathy for ourselves and others. On a positive end, Neptune offers us an ideal to strive toward; we are given the capacity to serve, surrender, and sacrifice. Neptune gives us HOPE.
So no matter how you are feeling, use this period to go deeper within to gain more insight on your own psyche. To see, is the gift. Use any muck as fertilizer to grow a healing vision for the world, so that we may relinquish our discontent. Together we can.
“Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all.”
― Emily Dickinson
Infinite Love and Healing to us all,
I know this image jogs your memory... Driving to Blockbuster, scanning aisles and aisles of VHS tapes, the smell of butter popcorn and the thrill of renting your very first rated "R" movie. Ahh, it's nice to recall.
As I ponder the nature of Mercury retrograde and it's ill reputation, I remember the phrase,
"Be Kind, Rewind;" and realize how true it is that we should gift ourselves a pause. It's indeed a precious time to process, integrate, and reflect on all that has happened in our lives in the past three months. Mercury goes retrograde approximately every 3 months for about 3 weeks. This is almost seasonal! So why the stigma?
One manifestation of Mercury is the Trickster. We are reminded not to take things so seriously and to slow the fuck down. Of course it's annoying when things get lost in translation, emails disappear into thin air and we misplace things we need. Even worse, when you drop your new phone and the screen cracks. What I urge you to explore when the joke is on you, is what is the deeper message? Maybe it's simply to slow down. Or maybe you shouldn't be on your phone so much.
The IRONY is that the usual function of Mercury is PRODUCTIVITY,
and obsessively gathering INFORMATION (Virgo and Gemini, respectively).
I recently came across this Instagram post, which seems to sum of the balance of Mercurial function.
Our society puts an emphasis on being "busy," hard-working and productive. But many of us are beginning to ask why?
How healthy is it to be constantly jam-packing our schedules? Is that any way to live?
With Mercury representing the mental function, and the inherent nature of routinely retrograding backward, it seems to confirm this very suggestion: that "rest, recovery and reflection" are integral pieces of everything else we do.
So this Mercury retrograde, don't berate yourself for being "lazy," and simply "be kind, rewind."
Who knew there was so much wisdom on a VHS sticker.
Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius:
This is a big deal because Saturn is wrapping up its 3-year stay in Sag, which began in January of 2015.
Saturn officially leaves the fiery philosophical sign on December 19th and enters Capricorn.
With Sagittarius ruling beliefs, law, foreigners and religion, we've seen:
Saturn usually emphasizes fear, limits, and aims to protect. Walls can be supportive, but also oppressive, depending on how they are constructed. If you are a Sagittarius, the last 3 years have probably been challenging, but if you've kept up, the work you've done will be immensely rewarding later on. That's the nature of Saturn.
What have the past 3 years been like for you? Has your understanding of other cultures grown with effort or have you closed off? How has your worldview changed, or what about your relationship with spirituality?
Below, I will explore the area of prominence relative to your Sun sign for December's Mercury retrograde. Bear in mind that this is also where Saturn has been helping you develop through initial limitation and eventual significant maturity and growth. Thus, this Mercury retrograde may be a chance to review what you've learned in the past 3 years.
Mercury officially stations
retrograde on December 3rd,
(2:34 am EST) at 29⁰ Sagittarius,
travelling backward until
December 22nd, (8:51 pm EST) stationing direct at 13⁰ Sagittarius.
Aries: What do I believe? With all the "fake news" out there, you must decide for yourself. Not based on what anyone's told you, but based on experiences. You've probably been confronted by your beliefs in some way, forcing you to either fight for them or change. You may return to a spiritual practice or study of some kind. How has your world view changed in the past 3 years? You may have committed yourself to your education. If you had difficulty, rest assured that 2019 will bring more freedom in this area of higher learning and understanding of other cultures.
Taurus: Who can I trust? Previous experiences of shame and let downs contrast with strength and overcoming obstacles. What is the mantra that has helped you overcome your challenges in life? You may have grown a lot in the past 3 years, gaining financial independence and stability. You can trust yourself, that's for sure! But you want to be able to let others in now too, so how do you know who is deserving of your most intimate thoughts? Look how much you've grown. Who can hold the space for the total raw beauty of who you are?
Gemini: You might hear from an old friend or lover. What's the message? If you are thinking of them, they are probably thinking of you, so don't be shy and make the connection. The theme here is partnership. What have you learned in the area of relating with others over the past 3 years? Your philosophy of what makes a partnership may have been challenged, realizing it takes a bit more work than what you were used to. What did your partner(s) teach you? What is the new outlook?
Cancer: You've probably been dealing with a reoccurring health issue and now you are just ready to be done dealing with it! This final period can be useful for summing up all of the clues and healing experiences you've gained over the past 3 years. Now you have a tool kit to squash the issue once and for all or to manage it with greater ease. Check out Louise Hay, if you haven't already. Maybe you've been working your ass off. What's the philosophy you have about work/routine? Has it changed over the past few years?
Leo: You feel like you haven't been able to have as much fun, for whatever reason, but luckily this will change when you begin to make time for deliberate play. Maybe your child has needed extra attention, or maybe it was something else. This may have been a period of slight depression, but maybe by now you have developed tools or mantras to help dig yourself out of a rut as needed. Sometimes the lows make us appreciate the highs. What can you do to intentionally bring more joy moving forward?
Virgo: This has been a potent seeding of a new beginning. What is your vision and what are you blossoming into? A new core set of values has taken root and you see your direction clearly. You may have moved recently, which may have been some sort of exchange of freedom and maturity. Maybe you bought a house and realized that you need things like leaf-blowers and plumbers. What is going on with your family? It's taught you a lot. Now you get to assimilate what all of this means and use it as plant food.
Libra: You've been finding your place in your community. How much involvement and where? You've been gaining confidence in voicing your ideas and insights as you are challenged to integrate yourself in your locality. In order to strengthen your stance, you may have been busy reading or committed yourself to learning something new. What's been going on with your siblings? Have they grown up a lot or had challenges of their own? If so, how does that affect you?
Scorpio: The focus for you has been finances. Working, saving, spending. All of it. Perhaps you suddenly had to spend a lot of money that you didn't foresee, imploring you to focus more on saving. This also helps you to mature your own sense of value. What's more important to you now, in terms of priorities? This also helps you decide what's worth your time and how you make choices accordingly. This Mercury retrograde might present a final test, so you especially will want to watch the temptation to make impulse purchases!
Sagittarius: Identity and self-awareness; Who am I and what am I working toward? Beginning a new cycle around purpose, although purpose may not be clear yet. This marks a period of self-exploration and purging the old order. Mercury retrograde helps to assimilate all experiences in the past 3 years before redefining value system and investing in new venture. The past 3 years were about pruning the old, outgrown ways of being. You may have gotten rid of belongings or lost weight. Do you have a name for this chapter?
Capricorn: You may experience the resurfacing of old energies. What is your subconscious telling you? Write down your dreams and have the courage to explore the signs you are seeing. Are you seeing repetitive numbers or words that stick out to you? Explore these symbols further, as the universe speaks to us in codes. This might be a particularly reclusive 3 weeks for you, so if you have lower energy, don't feel bad about it. Journal, meditate and practice self-care.
Aquarius: What is the vision that is coming back to you? You might recall a hope for the world you used to hold dearly and something rekindles the fire. A theme of groups and friends suggests that there is either a back-and forth ongoing, or you might rejoin a group you used to be a part of. Reflect on your affiliations. Then what will you do?
Pisces: What's my place in the world? What have my efforts amounted to? What does it all even mean and how do my accomplishments make me feel? Pat yourself on the back and now contemplate what your next move will be? You will eventually need to expand your network which can be intimidating for someone who prefers privacy, like you. So first, you'll want to do some necessary reflection. You might do this will a role-model in mind, or perhaps a parent.
Again, Saturn is all about maturity. This Mercury retrograde may offer you a final test or maybe even a gift. But at the very least, an affirmation of what you've learned from Saturn's travels through Sagittarius.
Jupiter and Venus, the two most luminous planets in the sky join together on the morning of November 13th, just before sunrise in the eastern sky. Trust me, you're not gonna want to miss this. So get up early and cast your sleepy eyes on this magnificent ball of light. The two planets will be so close to each other, that their auras appear to merge.
Why is this so unique? Declination. Venus and Jupiter conjoin every year, but for one, we can't always see it. For two, they might both arrive at the same zodiacal degree, but they might be far apart in terms of north and south in the sky. However, this time Venus and Jupiter will conjoin at the same degree of declination AND of the zodiac. Truly a spectacular sight, and assumed to be the same celestial phenomenon known as the Star of Bethlehem.
Pay attention! Remain alert to the subtle sensations in your body as you move through your day on November 15th.
You'll get a clue as to what your Mercury Retrograde story will be about.
No, it hasn't happened yet, but the "dread" might begin to sink in.
Mercury retrogrades are excellent times to go back and review, re-do, revisit, realize, remember...
We can't always crusade forward.
There is so much value in reflection... realization.
Mercury begins retrograde motion in Sagittarius on December 3rd, appearing to move backward in the sky until December 21st. But because the Trickster retraces his steps, it is where he is on this day that marks where he eventually returns to. So again, pay attention to clues and take note of possible themes.
Thursday, November 9th: Power becomes a theme as the Sun and Pluto connect. Check in with your solar plexus. Are you standing tall enough? Or perhaps your voice booms over everyone else. Are you a leader who encourages everyone's unique gifts or do you outshine the rest? Have you toned it down too much for fear of your own luminosity? Notice if you aren't speaking your truth clearly enough. The Moon is in Leo, which encourages authentic expression. It's an energized, chatty day filled to the brim with warmth, so go ahead and give it a try.
Friday, November 10th, claim your crown; step into your birth right. Seek joy. Wrap up and release the old way.
Saturday, November 11th, complete the secret pact with your higher self. Juno finally conjoins Pluto. This has to do with loyalty and commitment to something empowering, or strengthening. What are you committing to now that promises to elevate you in some form? At what means are you willing to go to achieve this? Sometimes we must let something else die, which is not always easy. With Pluto, you KNOW deep down what must be done.
Speaking of transformation and growth, today is the final exact trine of Saturn and Uranus. These two have been in and out of formation all year, encouraging us to update the outworn aspects of the current order: moving toward renewable energy, inclusiveness of individuality, technological breakthroughs. Let's see if we hear anything from Elon Musk today!
The last time that these two outer planets formed into an exact trine was May 19th 2017. Looking back, we already see some of these themes reemerging:
Sunday, November 12th: why are you so spaced out this morning? Blame Neptune or admit you had too much fun last night! Snuggle on the couch or get your booty into a downward dog and float to the front of your mat. Keyword, f l o a t.
Remember to wake up early tomorrow morning to see the luminous Venus/Jupiter conjunction.
Monday, November 13th, today could be a deeply sensitive and introspective day. Not only is the day influenced by an irritable edge from Saturn (nothing seems to go as planned!), but the marriage of Venus and Jupiter in Scorpio brings up more issues around sex, intimacy and themes therein of healing and wounding.
Essentially, more shit emerges that we purposely swept under the rug. Why do we need to talk about this? Because if we don't address it, it's going to fester and mutate into something even harder to make sense of. Where have you felt violated, humiliated or embarrassed? This is an excellent time to seek the help of a professional to help us rewrite the story. We all have wounds and traumas of varying forms, so we shouldn't have to carry the shame. Talk about it.
This combo has magnificent healing powers, so tune in if you'd like! Excellent for sex, intimacy and deep convos with friends. Expect the mood to brighten by the day's end, but don't expect to have all the answers. As I mentioned previously, Neptune is blurring the lines of reality and it's hard to see clearly. Thus, the instincts of Scorpio kick in. Instincts are the (mostly) unconscious urges and reactions that we have- so with the themes of cars driving into crowds, I'd be watchful today (and sadly, I can't not mention this). Instinct is our very first primal language of survival. Honor the feeling.
Tuesday, November 14th, Moon in Libra wants to debate this evening. Healthy sparring with your mates. Watch a sports game, play poker or hit the gym after work.
Wednesday, November 15th, there might be some excitement as the day begins to wrap up, but tonight's an evening to be sensible. You've had enough fun. Make dinner, meditate, read, go to bed.
Thursday, November 16th, Love is in the air! Maybe it's the cold weather encouraging us to move in closer. Or maybe it's just this tumultuous world which urges us to choose at least one person to trust. Love fully. Engage. Go deeper together. Weave your own fairytale. How does the story go? Venus trines Neptune, which has the power to move you emotionally. Think of your best friend's wedding vows, or a baby smiling at their mother. But Venus is in Scorpio, so again, it could also be a Haunted House that you paid $20 to experience! What's the illusion you want to see? The point is the feeling.
Friday, November 17th, say what you mean and mean what you say! Mercury sextiles Mars, imbuing passion into speech. Make a choice in direction today. How will you proceed?
Scorpio New Moon (26⁰ 11): November 18th, 6:42 am EST
This new moon offers bountiful potential for healing. It's time to shed that itchy layer of dead skin. Think of the recent discomfort as a CATALYST for growth. Scorpio is a potent sign of transformation; but often transformation has a prelude of crisis. Before that sparkly diamond landed on your finger, it was a drab piece of coal; between forms, it endured a thousand-year chrysalis period of pressure-cooking within the Earth. Change is the only constant in our lives, and Scorpio knows this intimately. To Scorpio, EVOLution and LOVE are synonymous.
It's going to be a sensitive time. Your instincts are in the forefront of your awareness, defying rationale. What are you feeling? Anger? Passion? Compulsion? You must honor your primal, intuitive knowingness, as this was your very first language. The way you first learned to perceive was not with the words which you speak. Notice the emotional and psychic impressions you receive. Logic moves to the side for now. You KNOW what must be done to move through this energy. Don't keep yourself small. Scorpio is an all or nothing sign, so you really need to go for it!
Again, this period is ripe for renewal and healing. But often there is a push, a reminder of why we do the work...
Mars, ruler of Scorpio, makes a harsh square to Pluto, amplifying compulsive behavior. I NEED TO... I MUST....
Mars is also receiving help from Saturn, expressing a readiness to build a new order. What's the new attitude that serves your highest potential and supports your growth? Even though there are some volatile energies, the emphasis is on moving forward. Sometimes a bit of agitation is necessary for change to take place, as we are seeing here in the United States.
New Moons are usually quiet periods of introspection, and the Scorpio new moon is doubly so. Allow yourself as much alone time as you need.
The degrees of 24-26 are activated, so think back to that age. What changes did you make? How did you grow?
(You can also visit the ages of 54-56.) And when in doubt, go with your gut!
Aho Mitakyue Oyasin. You are all my family.
May we all be awakened to our heart, and align our hearts together to create a
New Earth, rooted in righteousness, love, equality, abundance and compassion for all.
"Scorpio is a secretive sign.
Why? Because when a Scorpio tells everything, it usually scares the crap out of everyone around.
So Scorpio learns to hold energy in;
In fact there's a power in Scorpio, which has to do with the power of the 'hidden.'"
((1:22 am EDT, November 4th, 2017))
((10:22 pm PDT, November 3rd, 2017))
The Full Moon culminates at the 12th degree of Taurus, marking a period of rest, recharging and also pleasure. So eat, sleep and be merry in your own private world as we adjust to the weather changing and replenish our energetic reservoir.
Simultaneously, there is an energy of agitation. We want to rest, but what is making it difficult to do so?
The Ruler of Taurus, Venus, is being challenged by Uranus, indicating a feeling of limitation that we no longer wish to endure. With Uranus, there could be an urge to break free at any cost... the unrelenting desire to walk away unapologetically in the name of your truth. Particularly so for Libras and Tauruses. It might not make sense logically, but heed the call. What is making you feel stuck? Uranus is asking that we change something so that we can be more comfortable LATER.
The Sun is in Scorpio this time every year, marking a time to go within. As nature begins to "fall" away, we are reminded of the subtle, unseen forces of existence that indeed, one day everything dies. This, of course, can be deeply psychological and introspective. It's a time when we may be less social, knowing that a fun summer is behind us and a joyous holiday season before us.
However, this particular Scorpio season is a quadruple montage of Jupiter, Mercury and soon to be Venus and Mars too! Hugh Hefner died at the Pluto Station, which sparked the unraveling of a veil shrouding the legacy of both sexual liberation AND oppression. And thus the conversation began, leading to big reveals of perversion and abuse in Hollywood and even in our own personal worlds. It should be noted that Jupiter is both the magnifying glass, enlarging things so that we can improve upon, and also "the great benefic." That's right, he's supposed to be like Santa Claus, bringing lots of gifts and blessings. And he is, but first we must see the things we've been sweeping under the rug.
Pandora’s box has been opened and now there’s no looking back.
It may feel like you are lost right now. Things have welled up to the surface for you to see.
The good news is that your path may soon become more clear.
We can't see it right now because Jupiter is "under the beams" of the Sun. AKA, when an object is too close to the Sun, we can't see it. As the month of November goes on, we will receive more clarity on what to do next.
* * * *
“You enter the forest
at the darkest point,
where there is no path.
Where there is a way or path,
it is someone else's path.
You are not on your own path.
If you follow someone else's way,
you are not going to realize
― Joseph Campbell, The Hero's Journey: Joseph Campbell on His Life & Work
Aho Mitakyue Oyasin. May Mother Earth and all her inhabitants be awakened to our unity, and the highest LOVE of the Universe.
Love, peace and unity to ALL....
Joyous Samhain. The cool winds howl,
In death, lies the promise of rebirth.
The breakdown of withered leaves,
Transforming into soil for next year’s growth;
Of the forgotten acorns, many will rise into trees,
To produce countless fallen seeds in the coming years.
The great cycle: life, death, rebirth;
It is in death, that we never felt more alive.
This time of year is when the veil between worlds is at it's finest, and with Jupiter freshly in Scorpio, we may be even more attuned to this portal now than in other years. Many believe that this is an optimal period for communing with the deceased, with the nature spirits─ the devas─ and with our deepest, truest self. Speak to your loved ones who have passed on; they might be listening. Talk to your spirit guides and other exalted deities: ask for clarity and give gratitude.
Others make it a point to consciously release old outworn aspects of self. The falling leaves remind us that it’s ok to let go; we are making room for new growth!
Does science affirm the notion that the veil is now thinner? No, they aren’t quite there yet. However, technological innovation takes paranormal investigation to new heights. Members of the Ghost Adventures crew speculate that since they can communicate with spirits through certain devices which detect other frequencies, that the spirit world exists in a frequency not much different than our own─ similar to how ultraviolet and infrared light exist, but we can’t see it with the naked eye.
So when the spirit leaves the body, where does it go? Another dimension of a slightly variable frequency? Are our higher selves simultaneously existing in that same dimension while we are alive? What is that dimension? Who knows. But hopefully time will tell!
October 21st: Moon in Scorpio squares the nodes of fate offering us a choice to move forward or stay put. Make a small change and the ripples will emote.
October 22nd: Mars enters Libra, which is not his favorite place to be. Mars is the action principle, so ideally, we go for it! But here, there is a bit of hesitation to GO FORTH, because in Libra, we are PARTNERSHIP-oriented and more conscious of OTHERS. Libra likes harmony, so our choices and motivations might be informed by keeping others happy. COOPERATION. And since not all of us are mind readers, we might be more indecisive now through the beginning of December. Maybe this isn't such a bad thing with the weather getting colder. If we're gonna be stuck inside with someone all winter, might as well get along!
The Moon enters Sagittarius at 7:57 am EDT, giving us a vision and inspiration to get us through the day. What ideologies motivate you? What's your philosophy?
October 23rd: Scorpio season officially begins! Do you feel like someone is behind you? Why do we exist? Where do we go when we die? If you were ever wondering why all Scorpios are complex, secretly tortured souls, it's because we sense that's there's MORE than what meets the eye. During this time of year, we want to connect more deeply with others and with the subtle forces of existence. "I want to see..."
It might be hard waking up today if the alarm clock disrupts your vivid dream. The Sag Moon square Neptune is perfect for Astral Travel, and you wake up wondering if it was real. gonna be hard waking up today... Moon square Neptune. I wanna stay in the dream?? What is your dream? So start the day with something that makes you feel transcendent. Reinforce that aura before you leave the house so that you can be a superhero.
October 24th: Focused AND creative morning leading up to a LONG VOID OF COURSE DAY. Get anything important ready for print before 12:44 pm because after that, things may not go as planned. Reserve the afternoon for free-writing your drafts, tending to the odds and ends. Move intuitively; go with the flow and you might be surprised by the colorful creations you weave. Moon enters Capricorn at 8:12 pm: time to reel it in.. It's a Tuesday night after all. Make a sensible dinner and catch up on your Netflix queue.
October 25th: Capricorn Moon- use it to work steadfastly toward your goals. Be sensible. But this evening, Moon aspects Neptune, so you'll want to do something magical, whether you are sharing a cocktail with a friend, watching a movie, or opening your third eye.
October 26th: Today is a ripe for deep introspection. We see things purely, clearly cutting as they are. "Sometimes being wounded is easier than healing." That's right. Jupiter is travelling close to the Sun for the entirety of these dates, but it comes to exactitude today at 2:09 pm; perhaps there's an issue too big to ignore. Tune in and get the insight you need to move through it. Heal, confront, elevate. If the thing you thought you dealt with is back from the dead, ask your ancestors and spirit guides for help!
October 27th: The electric Aquarius Moon keeps us chill and buzzed all day, like a 6 pack of pumpkin ale. Looks like a busy day, with a dose of indulgence, so go ahead and get the donut too. Venus perfects her square to Pluto, which can bring out more from the sexual abuse stories that have been emerging. The square aspect says, "what can we do about this?" Also triggering obsessive/compulsive behavior, especially when it comes to romance, love and pleasure, this aspect can also signify themes of love triangles or manipulation. Money might be a player in the game too.
October 28th: Happy Adult Halloween! After a laid-back day, the aspects are looking sweet for enjoyment, pleasure, good conversation. The only thing is that around 9:35 pm, there's a disagreement between intellect and gut feeling. You have a choice: stick with the plans or tell your friends you don't feel like it anymore! But if you have a good back up plan, Mars in Libra could be working for you!
October 29th: I love it when a long VOC Moon falls on a Sunday, don't you? Go with the flow. No pressure, just do what you feel. I wouldn't schedule a lot for today, if you are reading this in advance. Best to flow intuitively, but the morning has a nice aspect to Saturn, so tend to the necessities early, especially if you must go grocery shopping.
October 30: Moon in Pisces: stay in your cocoon if you are able! Float, transcend, meditate, dream, dance, yoga, music, art, get inspired and connect with something bigger than you.
October 31st: Happy Halloween; Blessed Samhain. Mercury squares the nodes of fate, offering another choice in direction. But this time, you must consciously make a choice and vocalize it. Speak your truth and send those vibrations out so they manifest into reality. Throat Chakra activation!
Unfortunately for the kids, this doesn't look like the most cheerful night for Trick or Treat... The Moon goes void with a square to Saturn (of all things) to put a damper on the evening. It could literally be rain, or maybe it's too cold and the kid doesn't wanna wear a coat over their costume. Understandable! There's just an element of disappointment or crankiness, so get some back up candy for the kid who ONLY gets tootsie rolls.
November 1st: Bendiciónes para el Día de los Muertos. The Aries Moon wants to go it's own way, but Mars says, "think about how this will affect everyone else." What will you do?
November 2nd: This is quite a vivid day, ranging from strong emotions early in the day, to a social evening of sensible enjoyment. Don't be surprised if you get a late night jolt of energy just as you are trying to relax. Jot your ideas down so you don't forget them tomorrow.
May we all tune in to the subtle frequencies,
to learn, to see, to heal...
to connect with our ancestors,
to heal any wounds behind us and before us....
As the wheel turns...
Blessed be and One Love.
“Peace, Justice and Anarchy”
The New Moon takes root on October 19th, 2017 at 3:12 pm EDT and at 26⁰35’ of Libra. Quite fitting for the dual sign, the Libra New Moon chart is both salty and sweet, setting the tone for the next 2-4 weeks.
On the surface, Libra is balanced, sociable, refined and has the ability to remain impartial, sympathizing with both sides. But behind the charming, put-together exterior, is a strong will and an uncompromising set of values around equality, fairness and justice. They don't call Libra "the iron fist in the velvet glove" for nothin'! They know how to drive the ship and look damn good doing it too.
Libra's ruling planet Venus is also in Libra, so we see an even greater yearning for fairness, beauty and balance and yet we live in a world with massive wealth inequalities, and a government who helps Houston but not Puerto Rico,. There are countless major issues facing us as humans on this planet, and the urgency to alleviate these geo-policitcal ailments is amplifying. The Hopi word, Koyaanisqatsi, comes to mind, meaning "unbalanced life." Science continues to affirm what the ancient peoples all knew was true: we are all connected. And further, if one aspect of existence gets out of whack, it upsets the entire equilibrium.
Have we played nice for too long? The New Moon exactly opposes Uranus, suggesting the need for radical changes in order to achieve more of a harmonious collective. Uranus is the revolutionary, the anarchist, the genius, the breakthrough, break-down and the disruption; his purpose is to startle, stir and awaken. Uranus is prone to extremism, which is sometimes what's needed to get the collective gears turning.
In other words, this is not a quiet New Moon at all. Where do you need to make some noise? Libra is also our partnerships. Could something be more harmonious if you were to speak up? We might expect to see acts of resistance around this New Moon, as well as break ups! The Nodes of Fate are highly active, indicating that it's time to leave the outworn programming behind and expand our consciousness.
Also, pay attention to air travel. Uranus rules spaceships and airplanes, while the Sabian Symbol for this degree reads: “an airplane sails, high in the bright clear sky.” The imagery also describes the need for a greater perspective, freedom and transcendence.

Jump the Hurdle:
October 11th: Everything in life is a cycle. And the astrological cycles reflect this truth. The Mars/Saturn cycle lasts for roughly 2 years, and this has to do with OBSTACLES─ and the maturity that develops as we try to work around them. Mars is the drive to win, and Saturn is the limits, the rules, the authority or the law. Personally, this last cycle has been related to my physical body, as Saturn rules bones and alignment, teeth and skin. This could also be describing issues with your boss, career, goals or your direction in life.
Think back to what was going on in your life on/around:
October 12: the Moon in Cancer sensitizes us to the awareness of our emotions. Before we had language, we relied on our instincts. Today is a very active day, but our senses will be our compass. It might be hard to get moving if we aren’t feeling it. Get creative and find a way through the blocks, if any. Excellent aspects for practical thinking, focus and study.
October 13th and 14th: The Leo Moon warms our hearts and generates appreciation, gratitude and creativity. Just heed the possible drama and worry about your own swag!
On the 14th, Venus enters her home sign of Libra. Venus in Libra is a master of social graces, etiquette and class, but she can also be fake! During this time, we might aim to be better about returning those unanswered texts, take more time to curl our hair and try to understand more, instead of getting offended. Venus in Libra has a balanced perspective and can almost always sympathize with both sides of the story. This is a great time to invite more beauty into your world and to become more aware of how we are relating with others. In lieu of being fake, try to find a nice way to speak your truth!
October 15th and 16th: The Virgo Moon shifts our focus to the details. Our eyes are like microscopes and not a “t” goes uncrossed. Virgo Moons are excellent for productivity, cooking, cleaning, writing, crafting and completing to-do lists. Oh, and nagging.
On the 15th, be open to creative inspiration that illuminates your psyche like lightning. Some say that all the ideas that exist are out floating in the ethers, but once you attune your frequency properly, it could be you who invents the next wheel. You never know! Today is ripe for cosmic downloads, but also motor-mouth. Mercury opposes Uranus, so watch what you say to whom and be mindful on the road. This is an aspect for recklessness, but also ingenuity.
The Sun sextiles Saturn on the 16th, aiding in productivity. We want to build something long lasting, whether it’s a career, a partnership or a house.
October 17th has some tough aspects. The Moon goes void with a conjunction to Mars at 7:27 am EDT, and remains void until entering Libra at 1:35 pm EDT. The morning could be anything from busy, confrontational or competitive, but it is definitely active and more intense than usual. Once the Moon enters Libra, the mood should lighten up.
October 18th: Mercury conjoins with Jupiter early in the morning. This is the first time any planetary body conjoins with Jupiter since he moved into Scorpio, so it should be interesting to observe. We might be prone toward introspection, obsessive thoughts, or deep conversation with close friends. Excellent for journaling! The Moon further squares Pluto, doubling down on this abysmal sense of uprooting. Today is the last day of the lunar cycle, so energy levels might be lower than usual.
October 20th: The Scorpio Moon wants to flow freely and creatively. Today feels better. Trust the flow, your inner guidance, and breathe deep.
Have a splendid New Moon, ALL! We are ONE!
