October 10th, 2017 – November 8th, 2018
Jupiter enlarges the collective awareness of all things Scorpio:
sex, intimacy, trust, privacy, death, secrets,
power, garbage, occult, healing and transformation.
Generally speaking, this will be a potent time for Scorpios, as the planet of prosperity, luck and growth is in your sign. While not every Scorpio will win the lottery, this is generally a time of joy and counting blessings. Your efforts are really feeling like they are paying off.
If you are 24, 36, 48, 60, 72 or 84, you can also expect a fortuitous year, as you were probably born while Jupiter was in Scorpio. Jupiter in Scorpio natives have a deep yearning to tap into the undercurrents of existence; they ask big questions and invest much of their energy seeking truth. Intimate relationships are vital to their development and these people might be really good with money.
Aries: Welcome to your new life. Jupiter is in your house of transformation, reflecting a readiness to shed certain aspects of being. When one door closes, another opens. Something in your world or within your own self is ready to be reborn. While endings can be difficult, ultimately, this is an invitation for deep growth. This is also a great year for investments, loans, or joint finances.
Taurus: Lucky you! Jupiter brings blessings to your house of relationships. Find joy and growth as you connect with others. This is a year of deepening friendships, solidifying business partnerships, and connecting more deeply with your romantic partner(s). If you are single, you might be looking for your soulmate or even your twin flame. Ooh baby!
Gemini: It's time to transform your daily routine. "Life" is what we do in our everyday lives, so it's time for an update. Health, healing, empowerment, creativity, productivity, relaxation or passion? Jupiter likes freedom, so careful that you don't jam pack your schedule, as this year might get busy! This is a great year to get crafty, hone your skills. So if you've been wanting to learn how to knit or make your own beer, get on it!
Cancer: Lucky you! Jupiter is in your house of playfulness, romance and creativity. If you have children, this time will be especially joyous with them, so take advantage. Children or none, it’s time for you to see the world through their eyes: the world is your playground! Plan more play-dates with your friends so that you can deepen and lighten at the same time. Make art for art’s sake and maximize your pleasure.
Leo: If you aren't looking to move somewhere more spacious, this is a great time to purge and rearrange so that you can stretch out more. Expansive Jupiter is travelling through your realm of home and family, so there may be some big changes here. Keep your ears open for family secrets. While this is an overall positive time, this is also a house of endings. Maidenhood ends when motherhood begins, for example. Nurture your roots and you'll find how rewarding domestic endeavors can be.
Virgo: Geek out, read, research and learn. You're ready to replenish the well of knowledge. Jupiter is in your house of communication, reading and writing- all of which you may have the desire to improve upon. This is an excellent time to explore your community more, so get on your bike and join the nearest book club near you. This may be an exciting year in the lives of your siblings.
Libra: Jupiter is in your house of money, so this could be a really great year for income, or, it will make your spending problems too big to ignore. This may be a year for making larger purchases or investing in the tools you need to perform in the world. You’ll want to spend more, but usually these are important items that you will continue to use over and over again. And as long as you are putting in the work, the dough should be rolling in!
Scorpio: With the planet of luck, growth, possibility, and adventure in your sign, this is bound to be a great year for you. You might feel more positive and confidant than usual, and as you reach for the ice cream, you'll be reminded of how sweet life can be. With the expansive nature of Jupiter comes the possibility of weight gain. So be the alchemist of your life and seek enjoyment of all kinds.
Sagittarius: Go on a retreat, spend time alone, meditate or write in your journal. So much is happening behind the scenes for you right now so it’s valuable for you to take space to process. Think of this time as a period of gestation. You are more sensitive and therefore have more compassion for others, so you may desire to alleviate suffering in the world somehow, someway. Your dreams may be more vivid than usual, so pay attention for clues, and don't forget to take as many bubble baths as possible.
Capricorn: You are expanding your reach within your network. If you own a business, this could be a lucrative year for you. Grow your circle, get involved in your community. This is a great year to improve your social media presence, join a club and elevate your status quo. Jupiter is in your sphere of friendships and connections, so it may be a joyous time for some of your friends and you'll be happy to celebrate with them!
Aquarius: With Jupiter in your career house, this will be an excellent year for recognition. This is the time to put yourself out there. Have courage to make the advances you desire and ask for that raise. Welcome the increased opportunities which are coming your way and don't miss out on your chance to move up in the world!
Pisces: This is an optimal year for deep study, so if you've been wanting to go back to school or commit to a spiritual discipline, heed the call! If your Yoga Teacher Training intensive is in Hawaii, well, this is an excellent year for travel as well. Book the trip you've always wanted to experience as there is no better time than now. This is also an advantageous year for publishing.

October 10th, 2017 – November 8th, 2018
Jupiter enlarges the collective awareness of all things Scorpio:
sex, intimacy, trust, privacy,
death, secrets, power, garbage,
occult, healing and transformation.
While Jupiter was in Libra, we may have expanded our social circle, so now the question is “who do I connect with the most?” For a relationship’s roots to flourish, there must be a mutual trust, often built upon by sharing things "private," which is accompanied by vulnerability. Few people are trusted to receive our deep feelings, fears and or even our naked bodies, so we invest in these special connections. When we reveal these otherwise hidden facets to those we trust, we form a closer bond. And in intimate relationships, there are certain expectations of reciprocation─ whether it’s oral sex, or emotional responsiveness.
I trust you and you trust me.
Notice that some of these key words can also be used to describe finances. When we share money or have a joint investment, we have similar expectations.
Is there a carnal pleasure you’ve always wanted to experience? Jupiter in Scorpio might enlarge this desire, so now is a good time to ask for what you want. If you’ve been with your partner for a long time, this is an opportunity to go even deeper with them and spice things up at the same time. Here, reciprocation and trust are also important. Perhaps what I give you isn’t the exact same as what you give me, but it’s on the understanding of shared value.
Your relationship with your sexuality is a mirror of your relationship with yourself. Our sexual energy is the creative energy, the lifeforce. If there is a block here, it may translate to emotional and creative blockages as well. Healing this part of ourselves may involve professional expertise, a trusted partner, or maybe it’s deep personal work.
Scorpio is a feminine sign, so I cannot overemphasize enough the importance of the empowered feminine taking joy in her sexuality and pleasure─ it’s a radical act! And while the saying goes, “When a woman heals herself, she heals the 7 generations before and after her,” this statement of course applies to all human beings. Heal yourself, heal the world.
Possible healing modalities: yoni egg, yoni steaming, pelvic floor therapy, sacral chakra energy healing, energy orgasms, OMing, tantra, or mantras of empowerment.
Semen, shit, piss, periods, female ejaculation (amrita), breast milk, bile, spit… things you don’t usually talk about around the dinner table unless you are a Scorpio.
In a recent TED Talk, Katie Hinde wonders why scientists know more about tomatoes than breast milk. As Jupiter rules both understanding and legislation, it seems that the volume of this conversation will get louder this year. The UK has banned certain genres of pornography while some States in the U.S. want to mandate funerals for fetuses. We are learning that sperm may smell their way to the egg, therein a case can be made that each sperm is aliving entity.
“Healing in general”
Oh, you thought you already dealt with those feelings? Jupiter in Scorpio might dig up some undesirables from our psyche. Now is a great time to finally get to therapy. Like popping a pimple, Jupiter in Scorpio takes a twisted pleasure in shadow work. We want to go deeper. So now is an excellent time to commit more fully to our spiritual practices.
Scorpio specializes in removal and purging, so now is a great time to try a colonic, remove skin tags or warts, remove a tattoo, participate in a sacred plant ceremony and also, this is a good time to look into life insurance policies.
“Garbage and Waste”
Scorpio marks the time of the Tropical year in which the dead leaves fall; these leaves eventually become part of the soil for next year. Scorpio rules waste, garbage and compost. This period is an excellent time to start your first compost. So often we throw something in the garbage and don’t think about where it ends up thereafter. Like many other Scorpio topics, garbage is “icky” and compost smells like shit, but under the magnifying lens of Scorpio, some of these issues might get bigger than could otherwise go on ignored. The key here is transformation, as compost turns garbage into gold.
“Why are we so afraid of Death?”
Death is a rite of passage equally as important as birth. Perhaps what’s most unsettling about it is the unknown. We literally do not know for sure what happens when we leave our bodies, although we have many ideas. This sensitive topic may become more deserving of our attention under Jupiter’s transit through Scorpio’s territory of the occulted spiritual realms.
I leave you with a few topics I've been pondering:
Some final key words to leave off with:
Investment, Power, Mafia
Discovery, Plumbing, Mining
Privacy, Sharing, Hacking
Pandemic, Obsession, Horror
Enjoy the freak show, kiddies. Whether we like it or not, we all have a shadow side, stare at car accidents and sometimes have malicious thoughts. We are a culture obsessed with Criminal Minds, Law and Order, and Stephen King. We all waste, we all die and we are all sexual beings. Some of us just wear it on our sleeves while others hide. Perhaps while Jupiter is in Scorpio, we can collectively release some of the shame.
With all of the love from my Scorpio Moon,
But what will Jupiter in Scorpio do for me?

The lights went out, and when they came back on, everything looked a little different...
I know I'm seeing things in a new way, and maybe you are too. The past month brought much clarity, thanks to a potent Solar Eclipse and Mercury retrograde. Now what to do next?
This month is largely about integrating the changes we know we must make. But how? We will have a better idea in time.
Mercury and Mars travel closely throughout the month, which is sure to be interesting, and Neptune is a key player, elevating both compassion and confusion. It is said that if you are confused, you are on the right path. This month, we reorient ourselves in a changing world, as the eclipse continues to echo its message throughout the month.
Friday, September 1st, we are feeling extra productive with the Moon in Capricorn. Ambitious and hardworking, we might be focused on finishing our to-do pile so that we can enjoy a long weekend. Neptune sextiles the Moon, which reminds us that it’s important to let go once in a while. Neptune gives us the vision of what we optimistically look forward to. Listen to music that elevates and transports your consciousness while your body moves through the day.
Moon joins Pluto to dig up something from the depths. Maybe it’s willpower, or maybe it’s old memories, but something wants to come to light. Notice the contrast, see the pattern, take the cue and dance with the shadows. You might make an important discovery if you are open.
Saturday, September 2nd, Mars trines Uranus giving us a major energetic boost. We are ready to receive this rocket power. This creative adrenaline encourages the new direction we are choosing in lieu of the solar eclipse. We can’t ignore the call of our soul any longer and we are feeling especially spunky today. Tell is like it is. Raw, unrefined truth.
Mars and Mercury conjoin on the eclipse degree, giving us some attitude. Take altitude and soar courageously forth. We are ready to take some healthy risks, informed by the passion of our heart and soul. Build something radical, something extraordinary. Don’t be too reckless with your words, but say it straight.
We can expect today to be very eventful in the collective. Not only are Mars and Mercury triggering the eclipse degree, but they are also forming a fated configuration, matching the degree of the United States’ natal Moon (27/28 Aquarius). “We the People….” This configuration carries themes of wounding and healing. The tragic descent of tiki torches upon the city of Charlottesville echoed the literal line drawn across the country by the eclipse path, symbolic of a divided nation. We have much healing to do, but healing is a process.
The eclipse occurred on Trump’s rising degree (the ascendant), so with Mars and Mercury there today, we can expect that he will be a loose cannon. Mars/Mercury can be impassioned, angry words. He would be wise to cloister himself for the day. In the sign of regal Leo, might the crown be teetering off one’s head?
The Moon moves from Capricorn to Aquarius at 4:06 pm EDT, remaining progressive, a bit rebellious, and with a concern for the human collective.
Sunday, September 3rd, Mercury and Mars swap places over the eclipse degree. This is a really big deal! The eclipse degree remains sensitive long after the eclipse takes place; when a planet touches this degree, it’s said to “trigger” it. Let’s see who gets triggered today!
Words are impassioned today, for better or for worse, ranging from heated disputes, inspirational messages from the heart, shouting matches, championed speeches, angry insults, or even physical fighting is possible. Mercury is moving retrograde, so this is probably in response to something that happened previously.
Regardless of what is said, it must be let out. There is a compulsive authenticity in the air, so whatever is expressed cannot deny itself to be known. The Moon opposes Venus, which is an awareness of “my needs,” versus “your needs.” Do we meet the other person halfway? Either make amends or pride will drive the nail in deeper.
Monday, September 4th, what are you letting go of? It’s Labor Day, so maybe you are letting go of adulting for the day. But as Mercury retrograde comes to a close, changing direction, we too may be changing our minds about something in or lives. The Aquarius Moon on the south node helps us to unhinge and reorient our vision of the future. Trim the dead branches, so that new growth may later blossom forth.
Tuesday, September 5th:
Mercury stations direct at 7:29 am, ending the retrograde period. Still, the Trickster is alive and well on the station days. Give yourself plenty of extra time on your morning commute and don’t overbook yourself. This Mercury retrograde has been brutal with redo’s, so you can expect to do everything twice today, and even tomorrow. Despite the obvious annoyances, the value of Mercury’s message is vital: “Are you sure? Are you forgetting something?”
We are ready to move forward now. What realizations have sunk in over the last 3 weeks? What changes do you know you must make? Now is time to implement them forth. Mercury overwhelms the eclipse degree. Are you feeling overwhelmed? As I’m writing this, I don’t even know what’s happening in the world yet and I certainly do! It seems like a lot of big changes are happening in the world today─ turnovers, turnarounds and turn of events.
Adding to the snafus and confusion, the Sun opposes Neptune. Neptune blurs lines and makes it challenging to discern the facts. Sensationalism gives people something to grasp onto, but don’t believe everything you hear. When we can’t see clearly or we don’t understand, we turn to our intuition or a higher power. Neptune is the “Great Dissolver,” where all borders become imaginary and thus elevating compassion. We are all one; we are all connected. With Neptune, you can even have compassion for the oppressor. “Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do…”
Let your heart guide you in this confusing time. We will be working with these fuzzy energies over the next two weeks, as they funnel into tonight’s Full Moon. Art and music are excellent mediums to find meaning with Neptune─ there are no rules, it’s all subjective and meant to evoke a feeling.
Mars enters Virgo, evoking a readiness to get organized. While Mars was in Leo, we got creative and weren’t afraid to splatter paint everywhere; but now, we are ready to tidy up, scrutinize our work and see where we could do better. Weed, analyze and minimize. Mars in Virgo gives us worker bee medicine. We can be insanely productive, with really high standards. Take your time and smooth all the edges through October 22nd.
Full Moon :: 13⁰53’ Pisces :: Wednesday, September 6th, 2017 :: 3:02 am EDT
Have you ever heard the parable of the blind men and the elephant? Each touching a different part of the animal, the men dispute over their varying convictions of what the Elephant must be like. One man touches the trunk and asserts that the elephant must be snakelike, while another touches the side and argues that the elephant is more like a wall. The moral of the story is that while we might not be wrong, we may not be entirely correct either.
The Full Moon tightly conjoins Neptune, illuminating the big Dream. Until a dream comes true, it is a fantastical projection, or a hope, often born of our true heart and soul. The Law of Attraction allows these visions to manifest; under the ripeness of the Full Moon, you may be enjoying the fruits of a dream come true. Today’s Full Moon puts a cap on eclipse season, however, it also answers to the Solar eclipse of March 8th, 2016. What seeds were you planting back then, in regard to your dream, art, or spiritual practice?
As dreams often are, this may be a confusing time in the world. Ambiguity divides our perceptions, and often we see what we want to see. The hard part is recognizing that people are entitled to their beliefs, as they have had a different experience. There is a lot of ignorance and unjustifiable hate in the world. Like the courageous black man who befriended several KKK members, sometimes you have to meet people on their level to get through. Neptune and Pisces rule saints, sacrifice and endless compassion. We must try to understand each other if we are to work together. The Sun in Virgo answers to stationary Mercury on the fated eclipse degree; we are faced with some huge choices right now.
Neptune is also water, the universal solvent. All life depends on water and so we are united. Water gives life, but it can also take away, as we have witnessed with the recent Hurricane Harvey. How touching it is to see people rescuing others in Houston. It restores faith that deep down, people want to be good. In times of crisis, the field is leveled. This Full Moon casts a light on suffering, but it also reminds us that we are all one; we are all born and we all die, we all share the same emotions, which are as fluid as the water which comprises us.
Thursday, September 7th, get behind the wheel, you’re in charge of your direction today and no one can tell you otherwise! Perhaps short tempered and spontaneous, today is great for initiating new things and being direct about how you feel. You’ll have a lot of energy, so get moving!
Friday, September 8th, we want to socialize, but we also have a deeper orientation. Today and tonight is best for hanging out with your best friends, or deepening other relationships. Complex layers are ready to be exposed and expressed. These are not superficial aspects. Discuss things that enrage you, fascinate you; share lifechanging moments in your lives. After hours, there may be a tendency to overdo, so make sure you are either home safe, or in good company.
Saturday, September 9th, give yourself extra time this morning. Mercury says goodbye to Leo as he trudges through the final degree, so we might be moving slower today. Meditation and reflection can help to consolidate the heart-centered guidance we have received this month. Root in your uniqueness as we move forward to refinement in Virgo.
The Moon conjoins renegade Uranus, reaffirming our need for openness, as plans may change. Let’s hope that some of the surprises are pleasant and others are enlightening. The Sun trines Pluto, which offers an invitation to draw in power from other sources. Spiritual will flows into the Ego to access and activate higher purpose. Following a very short lunar void, the Moon enters Taurus at 12:23 pm.
Sunday, September 10th, Mercury returns to Virgo, where the retrograde story began. Mercury spent most of his retrograde in Virgo “how can we make this better, more perfect?” and discovered that no matter how much attention to detail, it’s the heart and soul, the feeling, that matters more. Now that we know how to stay true to ourselves, we are ready to return to the Virgo work of fine-tuning and perfecting.
The Moon conjoins Pallas Athene in Taurus as she prepares to station retrograde tomorrow. See the pattern, seize your sword. The Moon goes void of course at 8:54 pm with a square to Venus. It’s time to satisfy your desires. Something in your life screams, “Pay attention to me!!”
Monday, September 11th, there is a super slow start to the week. The Moon is void all morning and into the afternoon, which isn’t ideal for initiating projects. Follow through, tidy up and tend to ongoing affairs. The energy kicks up around 3:30 pm when the Moon enters Gemini. Any gloom lifts and chatter crescendos. There are some annoying aspects this evening, which demand our attention. There could be a little trouble making up your mind, but you’ll fare best if you keep it simple: get some exercise, cook dinner and tend to the little things at home.
Tuesday, September 12th, “you can’t believe everything you hear,” is the motto for the last couple of years. In the Information Age, there are too many “facts” tailored to every perspective in existence and everything becomes diluted. The Truth is muddled with all kinds of other truths. Develop the inner compasses of the heart and the intuitive third eye in order to navigate the times. Question everything.
Venus trines Saturn, solidifying some of the connections we’ve been building and reinstating our values. Use your sense of aesthetic and playfulness to enhance the beauty of your work. Have pride in your creations and your accomplishments. The last time Venus trined Saturn, she was retrograde and we were restacking our priorities. Now we get to enjoy the changes we’ve made. Things seem to be going well, so give yourself some credit!
Wednesday, September 13th, is a multifaceted day, but overall, busy. Jupiter gives us can-do confidence this morning, which motivates us to anything. We are on a roll and might be feeling extra inspired, productive and creative, which carries us through the lunar void period this afternoon. If you must begin something important, try to lay the framework before 2:35 pm, because after that, your creative genius will take over and fill in the lines. All of the fire and air signs are activated today, which is the rapid spread of ideas, rumors and invention. The Moon enters Cancer at 6:12 pm.
The Sun squares Saturn tonight, which is a period of checking in with our responsibilities to our bodies, our families, and our careers. If you’ve been putting off your dentist visit, now is a time to think about going. Put your health first, and show up to the plate, if that’s what you signed up for. Step it up at work if you’ve been slacking. Remind yourself of the importance of doing so. This is a great time for a pep talk in the bathroom mirror.
Thursday, September 14th, the Cancer Moon trines Neptune, imbuing a soft reflectiveness into the day. Excellent for art, meditation, creativity and floating. Choose fluid activities which illuminate your senses and support introverted dialogue, which becomes healing into the evening. Venus conjunct the north node, which alludes to a strong female on a soap box, possibly someone who would be considered royalty or from a notorious family. This could also be big money in the news or scandal.
Friday, September 15th, is a great day to purge. Throw things in the trash, donate clothes, or just cry ─ you don’t have to carry it any longer. Change is constant; there is so much potential out there for us. Does the caterpillar even know what it will become? Unless we allow ourselves to release, we get backed up, stagnant. While it’s easier said than done, we can make valuable strides by committing to the deep transformational work of yoga, meditation, therapy, choosing a holistic lifestyle and so much more. In such spaces, we can purge the cultural or familial programming which doesn’t serve us. Free up from distracting entanglements.
The Moon conjunct Ceres in Cancer, so no matter what you do, nurture yourself; give yourself what you need or help others in getting what they need. Venus sextiles Jupiter, forming a yod to Chiron: “Everything’s gonna be alright.” Rest assured; be confident in the process and remember that there is a teaching in everything.
Does it feel like 2016 is back from the dead? There might be some surprises today. Sovereignty, freedom calls.
Saturday, September 16th, Mercury conjoins Mars again, but this time they are in the sign of Virgo. We can expect more disputes, but this time less dramatic, and more critical. This is occurring at a very potent and public place in the sky, potentially manifesting as a hypercritical exposé or a damaging article. Of course this could go the other way too! Virgo is the little guy, so perhaps there’s an article singing the praises of a small business or lesser known individual.
The Moon is in Leo: expressive, creative, passionate, authentic, true (and perhaps the slightest bit dramatic).
Sunday, September 17th, inspiration takes form when the Leo Moon trines Saturn. Build, create, reinforce something, whether it’s a vision, a relationship, or some other project you are working on. Since Saturn represents duty, be playful as you run your errands. Go out for coffee beforehand or make a pitstop at the swing-set. Try on a weird outfit while your SO tries on dress shirts. The Moon goes void with a trine to Uranus at 8:55 pm, so be open to breaking the usual routine this evening. Loosen up and be open to new things.
Monday, September 18th, now that the Moon is in Virgo, you’ll want to keep your hands busy. Hone your craft and produce something memorable. Today can be incredibly productive, and the driving power of Mars motivates us to get moving. Just make sure not to stay focused on one little detail for too long, or you’ll sabotage yourself. Ease up when Moon opposes Neptune in the evening. Now you can escape, tune out, drop out, glaze over, get high, Netflix, or visit your happy place.
Venus lands on the eclipse degree today, offering more clarity to your eclipse story. Let’s see what transpires in the world today, which might carry a fated quality.
The Priestess of devotion, Vesta, enters Libra. Rituals center around partnerships, friendships, equality, beauty and balance. Devote your energy to someone. Venus to the eclipse degree.
Tuesday, September 19th: today is the last day before the New Moon, which is usually a period of lower energy and reflection. Venus arrived on the eclipse degree yesterday, offering us new information to integrate, while Mercury clears its shadow today. Today is optimal for contemplating the clarity we have gleaned in the past couple of months from both the eclipse and Mercury’s retrograde.
Mercury opposes Neptune, which can be extremely creative, intuitive, and spiritual, but this can also be confusing. Do you have too many options before you? It might be hard to know which way to go. It’s okay, you can always change your mind again later. Have you ever been in a situation where you weren’t sure, and you let someone else take control because they seemed certain, only later to realize that you should’ve taken charge? Yup, this is one of those aspects. Don’t ignore your intuition. Don’t let someone else insist they know better. You knew better all along, even if you didn’t think so at the time.
Venus changes signs today. We had a ton of fun while she was in Leo. We let go, praised each other’s uniqueness, but now it’s time to reel it in and perfect something we know we could do better. Often we project our own standards onto others and can be overly critical. Venus in Virgo can be a challenging placement because we become picky, and perfectionistic; remember to be kind and loving to ourselves and others! Venus sits on the fixed star Regulus, the Queendom. Listen for any messages from the divine feminine, or invoke Her into your day.
New Moon :: 27⁰27 Virgo :: Wednesday, September 20th, 2017 :: 1:29 am EDT
It’s time to look at things with a magnifying glass. The little things deserve our attention we must quit sweeping them under the rug to deal with later. We are beginning a new cycle in Virgo, which is our honed skillset, craft, discipline, and where we cultivate ourselves. Either we are refining our abilities, or its time to put them to use in a new way.
Perhaps there’s a way we could apply our skills to be of even better service to others. The New Moon opposes Chiron, which indicates possible mentorship, guidance or teaching. This aspect also suggests health and healing, which is another (often necessary) avenue of self-improvement. Is there an ache you’ve been ignoring? This is an excellent time to work with a skilled professional to address it before it grows into something much larger.
Like the cultivation of a skill, healing too takes time. Honor the process. And while its never too late to begin, a head start will never hurt. The New Moon squares Saturn, the task master, suggesting discipline, duty and that now is the time!
Mercury exactly opposes Neptune, which enhances imagination, meditation and supports allowing your creativity to flow. Channel your higher self. A bit of confusion can arise out of this aspect, which can lead to anxiousness; find a creative outlet that lets you keep your hands busy, as it will surely ground you. As Virgo is a minimalist sign, it’s a great time to tidy the home and the yard. The Harvest is near!
Thursday, September 21st, is great for deep conversation with a close friend or partner. Bring something to light. Transmute, empower, heal, build trust. Discover secrets. The Libra Moon sextiles Saturn, which is great for productivity or modest enjoyment.
Friday, September 22nd, joyous Mabon, Autumnal Equinox to All! We have reached a time on Earth where there is a perfect balance between darkness and night. In the northern hemisphere, we prepare for colder weather, hibernation and introspection; we prepare to gather around the hearth, keeping our dear ones closer for warmth. In the southern hemisphere, people are emerging from their cocoon and getting ready to welcome the Sun’s rays.
We celebrate the Harvest this time of year, pruning the garden and storing away that which we’ve grown to sustain us through the cold season. On this day, the Sun enters Libra, a time of connecting, breaking bread together, sharing the fruits of our labor, relating and solidifying relationships to last through the winter months where you actually have to make an effort to socialize!
the Moon conjoins Jupiter in the morning, imbuing positivity, and loads of energy. The Moon goes void with an opposition to Uranus at 9:04 am, which is an energy of separation. What do you wish to release? The void period can be an active one, but use it to wrap up projects. The Moon enters Scorpio at 1:40 pm EDT. We can feel the veil thinning as Samhain draws near, but for now, feast with friends.
Saturday, September 23rd, Ceres enters Leo, keeping the fire alive. We feel the love of the Universe when we can play. Allow creativity to flow. Let go… just be. Show love, be love, radiate love. Notice the inherent beauty of ALL in it’s natural state. Today’s aspects support being in the cosmic or earthly (divine manifest) flow: mystical, creative, intuitive and imaginative. Read the patterns in the tea leaves; see the pattern. There is sacred geometry everywhere.
Sunday, September 24th, the Moon is void for the entire day, so you may just want to lay in bed all day. Or maybe you want to go to the apple orchard and roam. Use your Sunday however you like, but don’t force anything. Be receptive to your inner guidance. It’s ok to be fluid today. Mars opposes Neptune, and we may have been feeling this all weekend, but this aspect dissolves motivation. “What do I want?” Either we are being too idealistic or we are clueless. “What I thought I wanted seems pointless now.” Try to discern what the true message is. While reckless abandon may seem tempting, in most cases, the message may be to let go and allow, as opposed to forcing. This is a time where we might see people go overboard with drugs and alcohol, so check in with your pals if you know they are going through a hard time. This aspect can sometimes create a sense of hopelessness, or conversely, a divine longing.
We are also beginning to feel Pluto station direct today. Pluto is the depth, the reservoir of power deep within. It’s our creative center on a soul level and place of transformation. Change is constant, we are constantly generating new cells and old ones are dying. Pluto is the process of death and rebirth. We may be ready to shed a layer. Think back to April. What was going on. What piece of you died? What did you let go of? Time to move forward with our transformation.
Monday, September 25th, Mercury squares Saturn which is excellent for study, hard work, deep thought and tending to practical matters. You may find yourself in a situation where you must hold your tongue! This is a communicative block of some kind, maybe you don’t get called on to voice your opinion, or maybe it’s writers block, or someone won’t text you back about something important. Hopefully your internet is fully functioning today─ we all know how hard it is to function without it anymore!
The Sagittarius Moon wants freedom! And with a square to Venus, we may have a strong desire to connect with our friends, to socialize and enjoy a meal or drink together.
Tuesday, September 26th, we are so excited for the future. We can see it and we can taste it and we are ready to work for it! The Sag Moon takes aim towards our conquests and we’re ready to put the muscles to work. Today can be a productive day towards our vision. Become the freedom you seek by creating something solid.
Wednesday, September 27th, deviate from the usual morning shuffle routine. The Moon turns void with a creative trine from Uranus, urging us to switch it up. Keep your brain sharp and you’ll stay young. The Moon enters Capricorn at 12:24 pm, which yokes us back in line. Get back to business.
Thursday, September 28th, the Lord of Darkness, Pluto, stations direct today. Don’t let the IAU fool you, this little guy packs a serious punch─ much like a bomb. While some of us may have been feeling this all week, today the decay is so acute, you can smell it. Whether it’s looming sense of doom, oversensitivity or cerebral intensity, it’s a heavy day in the collective consciousness. The good news is that we are moving forward. Something has been dying and now it’s time to say goodbye to that piece of your identity. Let it go. Just even a small piece of it. You know exactly what it is. We are moving forward, and you’ve mourned enough for now.
Pluto is the natural cycle of death a rebirth. I am going to dissect this subject more in my upcoming article on Jupiter’s time in Scorpio, but we need to quit fearing death so much. Skin cells are continually dying and regenerating themselves. In the birth of a baby, maidenhood dies and motherhood begins. Dead leaves become fertile soil for new growth…
Pluto in Capricorn seeks to expose the faults of the current order: the patriarchy, the corporation, capitalism, oligarchy and the major systems which give order to life. Beginning with it’s ingress in 2008, we witnessed the Stock market crash which paved way for economic peril that we still haven’t solved. We have awakened to the massive wealth inequality in the U.S.A. and in the World. “We are the 99%!” Super-PACS, Millennials “killing Applebees,” are just a few more symptoms of Pluto in Capricorn and we still have a while to go…
Interestingly, Jupiter and Uranus complete their final opposition today as well, and it’s gonna feel like 2016 is back from the dead.
Friday, September 29th, Mercury enters Libra and finds himself on the world axis, indicating that someone’s words are going to have a large impact today. Yeah, I know this sounds vague, but this placement usually creates a buzz. Mercury in Libra balances the right and left hemispheres of the brain, is a master of etiquette and will always tell the truth in a way that strives not to upset anyone. Seeing both sides of any situation, Mercury in Libra activates our ability to mediate.
Venus makes her annual opposition to Neptune, evoking themes of idealism, romance, poetry, fantasy, fairytale, seeing what you want to see, seeing the good in others, humanitarianism, elevated compassion and empathy, sacrifice for something bigger than you, divine marriage, delusion, and allure. The desire to transcend may be strong today, elevate your senses with music, yoga, art, meditation, prayer, theatre, movies and LOVE.
Saturday, September 30th, the Moon is in oddball Aquarius, making no hard aspects. Kick your feet up and read a good book, get the mental gears turning. Play it cool and slack off a bit if you need to. You don’t owe anyone anything today. Do what you like. Excellent day for socializing and stimulating the mind.
Aho Mitakyue Oyasin. You are all my family.
May we all be awakened to our heart, and align our hearts together to create a
New Earth, rooted in righteousness, love, equality, abundance and compassion for all.
(All times read for Eastern Daylight Time; for Pacific, subtract 3 hours)
This is a busy month full of twists, detours and clarity. In this climate, you'll want to keep plenty of wiggle room in your schedule. Don’t overbook yourself! The extra space will come in handy.
The eclipses are here! When the steady flux of light (information) gets distorted, we may see things in a new way─ ready or not! "I never realized that before!"
These eclipses need their own article, as they weave together with Mercury retrograde.
((Check it out here))
This month is definitely a journey, so pack your bags and let’s get on with it!
Tuesday, August 1st, optimism and inspiration warm our outlook thanks to the Sagittarius Moon. Reminded of how far we’ve come, we simultaneously direct our focus inward to contemplate deeper on our happiness. We will be doing a lot of this over the next month, but today is excellent for asking ourselves how we can ground more of our soul’s passion into our everyday lives. Mercury exactly conjoins Vesta and remains within 1⁰ for the next two weeks. Vesta represents the fire inside of you, ritual and devotion; Mercury is the mind. Reserve more time for the things that make you thrive.
Wednesday, August 2nd, be ready for anything. Despite high expectations, things may not turn out as anticipated. Twist the enthusiasm so that you can roll with the punches. The planet of chaos, invention, and ingenuity takes center stage. Uranus stations retrograde late tonight, but the ground is already rumbling. (Yes, Uranus rules earthquakes). As if the social-scape couldn’t get more interesting, rambunctiousness is in the air.
While change is important, there’s a comfort in predictability. Uranus only rattles cages when necessary─ where we’ve become too passive, apathetic, stagnant or rigid. That’s why he’s been busy recently. We got too comfortable and now it’s time for everyone to wake up! These next couple days should be very interesting in our lives and in the world. Be open to new ways of being, thinking and doing. Think back to December 29th; what changes did you make?
The Moon aligns with the Great Attractor at 12:40 pm EDT, so be careful what you wish for! Words and thoughts are vibrations which the universe understands. Be positive and affirmative, even if things don’t go as planned.
Thursday, August 3rd, Uranus stations retrograde at 1:31 am EDT, shaking up areas of life that have become stagnant. Uranus is like the anarchist who throws a molotov cocktail in protest; where do you need to speak up or push back? Uranus is the awakener, the stirrer of the pot and rules the rising of the kundalini up the spine─ similar to when you agitate a bottle and the sediment rises to the top. It’s time to shake things up!
Nerves are more stressed and people will be less tolerant of limiting conditions. “I just can’t take it anymore!” Expect splits, quits, breakdowns and break-ups, but also breakthroughs! Not everyone is at their wits end, but we all need an outlet. The Moon goes void at 5:38 pm, so now would be a great time to free yourself and let loose!
Friday, August 4th, we attune back to practical matters today with the Moon in Capricorn, while change remains in the air. An agreement, arrangement or contract may be up for review. Renegotiate the terms in a way which serves both party’s best interests, or maybe this represents a commitment you made with yourself.
Jupiter and Pluto form their third and final square. Jupiter in Libra seeks to bring order, fairness and balance to the power structures in the world; on the first square, November 26th, 2016, the Colombian government and the People’s Army signed a peace treaty. The immense power that Pluto represents can be used for good or ill. On the day of the second square, March 30th, 2017, Michael Flynn requested immunity from the FBI to testify about Trump’s relations with Russia; and just one week later, Trump ordered an airstrike on Syria.
These two planets only square off every 6 years, which isn’t very often. Let’s see what reveals.
Saturday, August 5th, big reveals are happening in the world and in our lives. Are you keeping an exciting secret? You might be tempted to share it. Or perhaps someone drops one on you. While big changes may be afoot, we can still be very productive and focused today. Make sure to reward yourself later; it’s been an intense week and you’ve earned it!
Sunday, August 6th, enjoy a Sunday-Funday. We finally get some breathing room to integrate all of last week’s excitement. Shivasana. While today isn’t necessarily busy, it’s definitely not boring! The Moon resides in experimental Aquarius and spontaneity invites us to get outside and play. Go ahead and check something off your bucket list that you’ve wanted to do all summer. Make some magic!
Monday, August 7th :: LUNAR ECLIPSE :: 15⁰25’ Aquarius :: 2:11 pm
The Aquarian Full Moon highlights the shared goals which unite us as human beings and the subsequent groups which sprout from them─ community, network, hive mind and the collective consciousness. Idealized, Aquarius represents the Utopian New Earth where everyone lives in harmony with the planet, utilizing technological advancement in service of the highest good. Aquarius deals with progress and invention, with an innovative eye toward the future.
While Lunar eclipses are often periods of sensitivity, the Aquarian energy helps us to be more objective. We are invited to let something go, in order to free up more space for the things we love. Read more about the Lunar Eclipse and how it weaves into not just one, but two Leo New Moons! One of which, happens to be the Great American Solar Eclipse everyone is talking about.
Tuesday, August 8th, tackle the important things earlier in the day, because the motivation may not be as potent later. Eclipses can distort our perception; this morning offers objectivity and ingenuity. The edges are a bit sharper this morning and you feel confident making changes. The molecules diffuse this afternoon when the Moon goes void at 3:07 pm; once we enter the Piscean realm at 5:56 pm EDT, you might find yourself totally disoriented. I’m not sure how emotional we will be in the wake of this lunar eclipse, but I think it’s safe to say that we might feel spacey and gravitate toward transcendent and subjective activities.
Wednesday, August 9th, did you recently let go of something or free up your energy? Don’t second guess yourself too much. Today we have an enlarged perspective which allows us to see that nature always move full circle. The person you parted with will, in time, find more joy somewhere else and so will you. The Moon is in the sign of Pisces, which represents oneness. It’s all perfect in the grand scheme of things. The mind is at odds with the gut this afternoon, which is a park of the process.
Thursday, August 10th: “No,” is a word we don’t always like to hear, and it seems like we’re getting a big one this morning. Maybe duty calls but you’d rather stay in bed, or maybe you wait in line for your favorite treat, only to find out the person in front of you got the last one. Reality seems to have a bone to pick with our dreams. What gives?! Maybe the message is that we must put in more effort before we can get what we want. But there is always a silver lining. The Sun sextiles Jupiter, offering hope, optimism, honesty and authenticity. (Lunar void for entire day.)
Friday, August 11th, hit the ground running with the headstrong Aries Moon. Just be careful you don’t move so hastily that you skip over the fine-print. Mercury goes retrograde tomorrow and it’s the days on/around the stations that we feel it most. The reason words get jumbled and the rational mind deceives you? Mercury retrogrades are fruitful times for inner focus and reflection; it’s a time where we are meant to slow productivity and become more meditative. Constant forward motion just isn’t conducive for growth or awareness.
Find beauty in the world as Venus trines Neptune this evening. The focus is on feeling and connecting. Go out for an enjoyable meal or beverage and conversation. Nourish your subjective side by seeking live music or performance. Make sure the atmosphere is just right!
Saturday, August 12th, be flexible. Mercury stations retrograde at 9pm EDT. Plans may to change and miscommunications are possible. Double check the details on important plans and leave wiggle room in the itinerary in case people run late. Doubling the drama, Luna conjoins Eris around 7pm, which means that people might be even more triggered than usual. The Aries Moon doesn’t help with patience either. Make sure you meditate or sweat this morning so that you can keep your cool later. Remain open and expect things to change and everything should be just fine!
Sunday, August 13th, it’s been a busy week, but today offers a chance to slow it down. Soften, relax and replenish. The Taurus Moon invites us to listen to our bodies. Feel the subtle vibrations within you and around you. Listen. Mercury just turned retrograde, which supports our inward focus, and moving at a slower, more reflective pace. Asses how far you have come; the Sun trines Saturn which shines light on the progress toward a long-term goal. How do you envision yourself next month, next year, in 10 years? How are the choices you are making today supporting that vision?
Monday, August 14th, we may get a wakeup call today when it comes to the use of our resources. How could we direct our energy more efficiently? In the collective, for example, what if more money was spent on renewable energy sources instead of on oil wars? We can transfer this wisdom into our own lives when we consider our emotional and financial investments. What brings the most peace and balance, while remaining supportive of our values?
The morning is energized by a square to Mars. Frustration or confrontation is possible, but maybe you just need to vent to someone. Blow off the steam and let it go. Today is the 2nd quarter of the Moon, between two eclipses; what have you gleaned so far this month as far as living more centered in the heart?
Tuesday, August 15th, we get off to a slow start, but the energy ramps up when the Moon enters Gemini at 10:06 am EDT. Connect, share, learn, read and explore. The biggest aspect today is Venus’ annual opposition to Pluto. Look for themes of love triangles, secrets and reveals concerning big money, influential mergers or use of resources. On a personal level, watch for compulsiveness, as desire can overwhelm the psyche.
Wednesday, August 16th, seems to be a very eventful day. I’m nervous to speculate because there is so much going on and it’s difficult to isolate one aspect. The biggest thing is there is a focused yod around this Venus/Pluto opposition I spoke of yesterday, which could express itself positively or negatively.
Trump’s chart is lighting up today. My interpretation is skewed by my disdain. But what I will say is that it appears that he’s feeling confined and seeks more freedom. It’s a strong possibility that he’s going to feel especially heated today, so we may expect some trigger-happy tweets. But like I said, there’s a lot of potential for positives today too.
The Sun aligns on the North Node of Fate in Leo, which represents elected and appointed officials. We might see changes in status and leadership. Some may be crowned, while others resign. The Moon is in Gemini, answering to Mercury retrograde. Be mindful of what you hear, as not all of it is going to be true. Intuition is going to be your best bet.
Thursday, August 17th, the morning is active, but best to work intuitively instead of a straight line. In the back of your mind, you might be processing something. There is potential for a breakthrough if you are willing and able to spend time with it. As such, it’s a great morning to plan a check-in with a health professional or for getting the kinks worked out from a massage. Follow up with plans or renegotiate the agreement this afternoon. Today can be productive and busy, but emotions drive the ship.
Friday, August 18th, the morning is potent for creative and meditative processes. Find your rhythm or maybe even chant mantra. Great opportunities for work which includes patterns or problem solving. Feelings and emotions are our guides today. Whatever you are feeling gets enlarged at 8:52pm EDT when the Moon squares Jupiter. If you weren’t able to process any challenging issues earlier, it might be too big to ignore by now and command attention. This could also be an indulgent aspect for eating and drinking. By midnight, warm feelings and good company nourish the soul.
Saturday, August 19th, the plans might change, so expect the unexpected this morning. At the very least, the day is off to an interesting start! Uranus gives us the jolt we need (sometimes the coffee doesn’t quite cut it) to awaken us to new ways of thinking, seeing, doing… When we become set in our ways, we crystalize; we become arthritic. Shakeups keep our wits about us. The Moon enters playful Leo at 1:55 pm EDT. Time to seek joy and do the things our heart desires.
Sunday, August 20th: Typically, the day before the New Moon is a period of lower energy. As the lunar cycle concludes, we are too assimilating and reflecting. However, tomorrow is a Solar Eclipse (in an enlivening fire sign, no less), so we may be feeling energized already. If the energy is available to you, get ahead of the curve and go play! Be outside and do things you love. The cosmic message of this eclipse season is so loud it’s almost deafening: ENJOY YOUR LIFE, FIND YOUR HEART CENTER IN SPITE OF THE CRAZINESS AROUND YOU! Energizing aspects continue into the night, so if you must wake up early tomorrow, make sure you burn off some energy earlier in the day. But don’t resist the current, if you can help it; the nighttime is a powerful teacher and the eclipses are here to awaken us.
GREAT AMERICAN SOLAR ECLIPSE :: 28⁰52’ Leo :: Monday, August 21st, 2017 :: 2:30 pm EDT (((The most dramatic eclipse of our lifetime required it's own article. Read all about it here. )))
Tuesday, August 22nd, what is the message? Listen closely. Your higher self, nature and the cosmos are speaking to you. Today, we are summoned to the seat of our soul to listen closely to the message we may have been ignoring. Now it’s time to heed the invitation. Mars trines Saturn to build something, or to give form. There is a readiness to put the muscle work in to make the dream a reality. What are you striving toward that is important to you? Today offers productivity and attention to detail, but infused with creativity. The evening would be optimal for journaling, meditation or even shooting hoops by yourself─ the point is to not busy the mind too much so that receptivity can anoint us with wisdom that is inherently within us. Listen up and receive the divine wisdom that is you!
It’s Virgo season! The Sun enters Virgo at 6:20 pm EDT. This is a time when the kids get back to school and we focus more on the routine. Time to get back into a rhythm. Virgo is a mutable sign and represents the transition between summer and fall. Nights are getting chillier but the Sun is still hot!
Wednesday, August 23rd, we are beginning to feel Saturn slow down and gather force in the sky as the Planet of Time prepares to station retrograde on Friday. Saturn rules concrete reality, so whatever is present in your world will become crystal clear. Sometimes it can bring gloominess, depression or sadness if there is something needing to be faced. Often, we disassociate in order to carry on with life. But now we are confronted as Saturn says, “this is the truth, now face it.” But most often, Saturn stations just feel blah─ no rainbows or unicorns, just what’s in front of you. At best, we just feel content with what is; slightly elevated above neutral, not too high and not too low. Just simple gratitude.
Saturn stations exactly conjunct Lilith in Sagittarius, which may emphasize the preserving of the wild and natural resources. We must obey the laws of nature: we cannot squeeze water out of a rock, nor can we keep depleting the Earth and expect it to keep sustaining us.
Stationing in a grand trine with Uranus, Mars and the North Node of destiny, I see this as a potent time when more people get on board with sustainable technology and ways of living. Shell recently announced that they would begin seeking more renewable sources of energy, as this IS the way of the future. Perhaps more companies will become encouraged to consider new modules of operation at this time. Saturn rules structure and is ready to move forward in a new way. This configuration seems to reflect a collective readiness to upgrade our ways of living.
In political news, Saturn stations direct exactly conjunct Trump’s natal Moon. Saturn has been in orb of his Moon since 2016, and congruently, much more responsibility has landed in his lap. He reportedly misses his old life of leisure. Being the President isn’t as easy as he’d thought! Occurring in his 4th house of the home, his usual comforts are less available to him. Quite literally, he is away from his home in NYC, where his wife lives. The Moon represents the women in our lives. On one hand, Ivanka is enjoying more responsibility while Melania seems dispirited by this new reality. Moon/Saturn aspects can manifest as loneliness and a feeling of not having one’s needs met. The station occurring exactly on Trump’s Moon indicates an acute stress on his well-being, resulting from his new position.
Thursday, August 24th, Venus squares Uranus. This aspect supports the alterations or release of anything that has become too limiting. We are craving more excitement or more freedom somewhere in our lives. What’s become too stagnant? Hang out with your most interesting friend or do something out of the ordinary. Time to experiment with food, music, pleasure, creativity or healing. Relationships which have run their course may decide it’s time to open up to more. This is also a time of impulse purchases. The only caution is that it’s Mercury retrograde; if it’s a big purchase try to hold off and do your research until you are certain, but go ahead and sit in the driver’s seat.
Friday, August 25th, today Saturn stations direct. Time to move forward in a new reality. Saturn has spent 3 years in Sagittarius and now he begins moving forward toward the sign of Capricorn. Saturn in Sag brought to the surface fears of xenophobia and the “other,” as debates heated over travel bans and literal walls between nations. It’s time to squash the last of it before we move on. Saturn in Sag has been about creating a new structure around our collective and individual beliefs and ethics. Is your structure an apocalypse bunker, an open field, or something in between?
As I detailed on Wednesday, things become crystal clear on a Saturn station. Feelings of blue or blah are common, as is simply being content with what is. Today, the Moon conjoins Jupiter, which acts like an amplifier. Either the issues in our consciousness become too big to ignore and we feel more intensely, OR, our perspective becomes enlarged and we can feel quite happy. As such, we can expect a polarization of emotional being today. Some people are going to feel low, while others are going to feel high. The best thing you can do today is stay focused on your goals and keep pushing forth! Much clarity and perspective can be gleaned today.
Saturday, August 26th, Venus enters Leo in the wee hours of the morning. Do not be shy! This is a time to fully express from your heart. Unleash your creativity and speak honestly. Venus in Leo is not shy about showing love and appreciation. Tell your loved ones how grateful you are for their presence in your life. Be proud of those in your pack and of yourself! Venus in Leo shines a light on each of our unique styles. Wear your hair in the braid you always wanted to try and put on those tall shoes you wish you wore more often. Bust out your unique flare and play! Venus in Leo is all about taking a gamble for the sake of fun. Put yourself out there and let your authentic heart sing!
The Moon is in Scorpio and Juno stations direct today. Don’t be jealous of others. We are all unique in our own way. You are just as valuable.
Sunday, August 27th, the Scorpio Moon trines Neptune just before sunrise. You may wake from an especially vivid dream. Jupiter forms its closing sextile to Saturn for the final time. A twenty-year economic and societal cycle is coming to a close. In December of 2020, Jupiter and Saturn will conjoin and initiate a new cycle, regarding societal growth, economic infrastructure, education and resources. Interestingly, this will occur just before the presidential inauguration of 2021. So, what does this mean for us now in 2017? It’s a time of assessment. How are the current modules supporting our society? Jupiter is liberalism and Saturn is conservativism. How have we changed over the last 17 years? The next 3 years are about figuring out what must change and how we can do better as a societal whole.
Monday, August 28th, the Moon is void until entering Sagittarius at 3:48 pm. Mars influences the morning, so we might be on edge, frustrated, anxious, driven, active or busy. How we feel confronts rationale in the evening. Perhaps the plans we made earlier are no longer resonating. Do you send a text and cancel or do you show up anyway? Either way, you are going to wonder if you made the right choice. Do what’s best on your conscience. Pleasant vibes fill the evening.
Tuesday, August 29th, seek the perfect vantage point. Look how far you have come. What has changed so far, this eclipse season? Today marks the first quarter of the Moon. What’s next? The Sag Moon squares Neptune at 6:00 pm EDT. Time to transcend and release the tethers. Take pleasure in an enjoyable activity where you can just be. Unite with the friends who you are 100% comfortable with, where you get just as much happiness from being in each other’s presence as you do from chitchat. Great evening for listening to records, making your favorite dish or watching an elevating or provoking film. Float effortlessly.
Wednesday, August 30th, what’s your connection to nature? How do you, as a human being fit into the equation. Many of us live in concrete jungles, and we forget that we are one big ecosystem. The Moon conjoins Saturn and Lilith in Sagittarius today inviting us to consider where we take responsibility for the wild. Do you tell your bartender not to bring you a straw? Do you bring your own mug for coffee or shop with reusable bags? Let’s think even bigger today. How can we each as individuals strive to do better? The Sag Moon emphasizes freedom. The more in harmony we can live with the planet, the less we have to worry about our survival, which is indeed liberating!
Thursday, August 31st, Mercury dips back into Leo. Forget about the details for a moment. What’s your passion? What does your heart want? Be authentic rather than perfect. The Moon in Capricorn highlights our ambitions, but what is the relationship between success and happiness?
Aho Mitakyue Oyasin. You are all my family.
May we all be awakened to our heart, and align our hearts together to create a
New Earth, rooted in righteousness, love, equality, abundance and compassion for all.
There are three modes of living. You are either surviving, alive or thriving.
When you are in survival mode, you are only afforded to seek your basic needs. Energetically tethered to the root chakra, it’s more difficult to access the fullness of what life has to offer. Millions of people all over the planet are limited to a life of survival. The average person on this planet walks 4 miles on average just to have access to fresh drinking water. This means that they miss out on time they could be learning, or enjoying other luxuries.
Still, stress is the main culprit which distances us from joy. We can all relate. Stress flushes the body with cortisol, and you simply cannot relax. Even if you drive a nice car, living in perpetual stress is not truly “living” either. Maybe stress is not dominating your life and you feel alive. You’ve got food on your table, you take a vacation here and there, and on the surface, life is great! But you often feel like something might be missing…
The missing ticket? The true passion of your soul. Beneath all of the roles you play in society lives a burning desire that makes life worth living. The upcoming eclipse season aims to reveal to us how we can live more authentically from out heart. Happiness is our birthright. You are thriving when you can look forward to the excellence each day promises. August takes us through a journey to see what needs to be released so that we can make more room for joy.
We’ve already done some of the work:
In the first 5 months of the year, Venus retrograde helped us to get in touch with our desires. We reassessed our values, relationships, finances, and reprioritized where we spend our time and energy. In the sign of Aries, we grew more impatient with the things that had become taxing. We had an easier time saying no, drawing boundaries and perhaps ending certain relationships altogether.
May and June offered a period of integration, slowing down and smelling the roses, while also offering space for healing. July began intensely, as many people were abruptly faced with their own psyche; deep rooted issues welled up to the surface demanding attention. Befriending the shadow and listening is profoundly enlightening: you become aware of your own bullshit. Now that the emotional-psycho-spiritual master-cleanse is through, now we can hear ourselves better. Let’s get to the heart now.
New Moon in Leo #1: July 23rd, 2017
Leo rules the heart, which literally sustains the physical body by pumping blood. As a result, it generates our electromagnetic field, also known as the aura. The aura is our energetic projection into the world. On this new moon, we consider the vibrations we are putting out; this has everything to do with what’s in our heart. Not coincidentally, matters of the heart are love, truth, passion and joy. We are invited to check in with ourselves. Are you happy? What needs to change in order to be more vibrant?
Leo also rules creativity, playfulness and children. Children, after all are usually a byproduct of love, play and creation! The prominent Leo energy prompts us to get in tune with our inherent childlike nature. Play for fun’s sake! Also, consider how honest children are. They don’t mean to offend anyone, they are just expressing their truth. It’s time to be honest with ourselves and the world and live more authentically.
Chances are, if you are not as happy as you could be, it’s because you are neglecting the truth of who you are─ beneath the façade of your chosen career or who the world wants you to be. Perhaps you are run down by duty and expectation. It’s time to get in touch with the true desires of your soul. The New Moon conjoins Mars, which gives us the courage to be more authentic and honest with ourselves about what we need. The square to Uranus suggests that if a situation has grown too confining, there will be an itch to create more freedom.
Releasing: Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius
The Moon culminates to a Lunar Eclipse on Aquarius on August 7th. Full of progressive ideas for how the world should be, Aquarius contains the ability to be emotionally detached. This is timely, because we need to think objectively right now. In order to peel more layers back and live fully in our heart’s truth, we have to be able to take a step back, see what needs to change and let it go. The Sabian image is “a big business man at his desk.” You are the boss of your own life. It’s time to have a sit down with that person, place, thing or idea and let it go. When you are the boss, sometimes you have to put your emotions on hold and do what’s best for the whole. Don’t feel too bad about letting something go when you know it’s right for you. This lunar eclipse demands release. Something will be let go in order to free up more space for the things we enjoy.
With Aquarius comes a quality of rebellion. To access the freedom that Aquarius offers, change is necessary. The Sun opposes the Moon at 16⁰ Leo, whose Sabian image reads, “sunshine after the storm.” Everything’s going to be ok. Change is healthy. The pot needs to be stirred to avoid stagnancy. And since nature abhors a vacuum, something else will inevitably fill the void.
Eclipses in general are Aquarian in nature─ surprise, you didn’t see it coming! Eclipses alter the normal flow of light and you see things in a way you hadn’t seen before. It can’t be unseen and it must change. While we always have free will, eclipse season seems to be a time when the forces of existence seem to play a hand in our fate. We know that the Sun is much larger than the Moon. It’s quite the enigma that they appear the exact same size from our geocentric point of view. It’s as if they were magically arranged this way…perhaps connected to the same force which pushes us closer to our purpose?
Total Solar Eclipse: New Moon in Leo #2
On a personal level, this solar eclipse offers us a second opportunity to shift our focus to more heart-centered living. We must be the change we want to see in the world (to quote Mohandas Ghandi). One really helpful exercise to live more joyously is very simple: Gratitude. It’s amazing how your entire day shifts when you begin by counting your blessings. It could be as simple as saying, “I’m so grateful that I have coffee to drink this morning,” or “I’m so thankful that I got a good night’s sleep.” This is something that everyone can practice, no matter the circumstances. Practicing gratitude eventually leads to complaining less─ then watch your reality change!
It gives me a cosmic giggle that the most dramatized Solar Eclipse ever in our lifetimes occurs in the unapologetically regal and flamboyant sign of Leo.
More people will be tuning into this eclipse than any other in the history of the world. Not only will it be visible from coast to coast in the continental US, drawing people from near and far, but people will also be able to tune in live via computers and live broadcasting. All it takes is for 1% of the population to focus on something to create a quantum shift. Eric Francis, one of my favorite astrologers, recently speculated on the quantum effects this eclipse could produce.
To take it further, the Sabian image for this degree reads: “a mermaid emerges from the ocean waves ready for rebirth in human form.” We are evolving from survival based homo sapiens to consciousness based homo luminus, as coined by Alberto Villoldo, and where I get my namesake, Astro Luminus from. When enough people choose gratitude, love and compassion, it causes a ripple effect in the collective and inspires others to do the same.
We have the technology, but do we have the courage? Things are changing on planet earth and we are at a critical point where we either choose plentitude, by evolving our current structures, or we choose scarcity by maintaining our way of living. The reality is that we are going to have to deal with the exponential rise of the population and learn how to live more sustainably.
“Imagine all the people, sharing all the world….” -John Lennon
Seriously. Imagine a world where technology helps every human live more efficiently by meeting our basic needs, thus allowing more time and energy to live more joyously. This is not a fantasy. Technology is already replacing jobs and the notion of a “universal income” becomes increasingly popular. This could very well be where we are headed.
Begin to imagine what you would be doing instead, with all of your free time. What would that look like? And further, would you be able to begin living that dream now?
The total Solar Eclipse, stretching coast to coast of the United States, forms a harmonious grand trine configuration with Saturn and Uranus. In other words, this mighty eclipse reflects the readiness to revamp the current systems. It’s not time to overthrow; we just need to update the aspects of societal structure which no longer support. This eclipse affects the entire world, but it seems to be a direct plea to the United States to get with the program again! Coal and oil are on their way out; free energy is the future. Saturn exactly conjoins Lilith, which calls for the preserve of nature. We need to protect our wildlife. No more excuses.
I’d be remiss if I did not mention that this eclipse will directly affect both the natal chart of Donald Trump and the natal chart of the United States (yes, countries have birthdays too!). There’s a lot of hype about this, and while I wouldn’t brush it off, we must remember the message of this eclipse season: stay centered in your heart. While chaos swirls in the world around us, we can still wake up grateful each day, do the things we enjoy and cherish our loved ones.
Lastly, Mercury retrograde is going on:
Everyone’s favorite astrological gripe is here. And I will vehemently defend the value of Mercury’s retrograde until the days end. Weaving its way through the entire eclipse season, this one is particularly precious. Mercury retrogrades are periods of going within. The emphasis is more on listening and intuiting rather than logic and rationale. We should be kissing the Messenger God’s winged feet, as he supports our inward dialogue, and getting to the heart of our truth. When you feel it, you know it’s real.
On August 12th, Mercury stations retrograde conjunct Vesta, who rules devotion, ritual and the hearth. In the old days, the hearth was at the center of the home, to radiate heat evenly. Just one letter separates “heart” from “hearth.” The symbolism here is strong: what makes your fire burn? What are you willing to devote yourself to?
Mercury and Vesta trine Pallas Athene, which helps us recognize patterns and create new ones. Pluto completes a grand trine, supporting the regeneration of brain cells, thought patterns and focus. Pluto also helps us to go deeper inward to get to the heart of our true desires. And we need all the help we can get to pierce through all of our facades, walls and ingrained perceptions of how we think we “should” be. Truth isn’t always pretty. It takes a ton of courage to embrace it.
Finally, Mercury completes his retrograde motion on September 5th, stationing exactly on the Solar Eclipse degree. This is huge! and echoes the messages we’ve received throughout the month. Now we are ready to move forward. Add two letters to “love” and you get “evolve!”
Don’t be afraid to be unapologetically you, express yourself; choose love over fear and have the courage to seek joy everyday despite the chaos in the world around you. Love yourself, love your life and radiate love to uplift and encourage others to seek the same. Happiness is our birthright. You are alive. Now it’s time to thrive.
Aho Mitakyue Oyasin. You are all my family.
May we all be awakened to our heart, and align our hearts together to create a
New Earth, rooted in righteousness, love, equality, abundance and compassion for all.

Saturday July 1st, Chiron represents the evolving relationship with the wound. Today, this influential asteroid stations retrograde. Ignoring the pain doesn’t make it go away; rather, neglect makes it worse! Part of Chiron’s gift is learning to make friends with our mortal aches and pains. It’s hard being human─ we hurt, we feel, we aren’t all knowing, and our soft squishy bodies are not invincible! In process of accepting our human selves, we must befriend our pain. We ALL have pain somewhere. No one is exempt. Over time, we realize that our imperfections can give us character, and even wisdom.
Remember that healing is a process and you can’t down the whole pill bottle at once. This is a good time to reach out to others who might need some reassurance on their healing path. Take care and be gentle today.

The Moon is in Libra and squares off with Mars and Pluto. This represents an emotional conflict, a confrontation or a disharmony. Libra is the sign of partnership, but also open enemies. If you know that your ex will be at the same party this weekend, choose wisely. Be honest with yourself if you can handle it. Emotions are strong right now.
Sunday, July 2nd, certainly carries an element of emotional intensity. Obsessive-compulsiveness, the inability to rationalize or forget may overwhelm the psyche. The Mars/Pluto opposition tightens to exactitude today. Healthy outlets and supportive circles are really important this weekend. This is also a war aspect, so know that people are prone to confrontation and picking fights. Feelings need outlets, so it really may not be personal; but rather a helpless impulse to blow off steam on the first person who crosses them.
In recent past, Mars/Pluto aspects also correlate with police brutality and sexual violence. It’s really about control and power. With all of the motor vehicle assaults lately, I’d be nervous about that too. I hate to dish a dark report, but just be on the lookout. Play it cool, stick close to your trusted tribe and consciously communicate your feelings.
On the brighter side, Pluto is where you access your potency; it’s a symbol of transformation, catalyst and power. When we act consciously instead of allowing emotions to control us, we can get to the root of what the emotion is trying to show us. If you are feeling intensely, get to the root of it. It takes more effort, but it’s ultimately more rewarding if you can do so.
Mars/Pluto is also profoundly sexual and regenerative. If you find yourself fighting with your partner for no apparent reason, maybe you should shut up and get naked. Then see how you feel.
The Moon is void all morning, until the Moon enters Scorpio at 1pm EDT. Go with the flow and be open to possibility.
Monday, July 3rd, the Scorpio Moon forms a grand trine with the Sun in Cancer and Neptune in Pisces. What are you doing to take care of yourself? Your feelings are your compass, sensitizing you to your body, roots, environment and those around you. Today is an invitation to honor your intuitive senses and replenish. Give to yourself and/or others in your tribe.
Tuesday, July 4th: Have you given away too much of your energy this weekend? Have you had no time to recharge? The Scorpio Moon polarizes with Venus in Taurus, highlighting issues of overindulgence, privacy, and energy expenditure. Didn’t you get the message? If you haven’t done something healing or replenishing yet, you might want to make it a priority today. We are offered a choice: following your heart or following the group. There’s an element of stubbornness here, but the gift is evolution if you choose your resistance.
If you’ve paced yourself, good for you! The thing to watch out for this evening, is the slickness of the tongue. Wit and hilarities are all good and fun until something comes out the wrong way. Mercury square Uranus gives mental agility, intuition, and quickness of the mind, but the words come out raw and unfiltered. Honesty is always best, but sometimes it’s the delivery that seals our fate. Tact is a virtue!
We’ve been preferring a slower pace over the past month, but now Venus enters Gemini (8:11 pm EDT) and we are ready to bring more stimulus into our world. We are all craving a little more excitement, inspiration and new juice. Socializing, mini-adventures, are what summer is all about. If you are wondering if you and your mate are exclusive or not, you might want to hold off on that question until Venus enters Cancer on the 31st! That is, unless you are really sure!
Wednesday, July 5th, fire warms the residual emotional dampness. Now it’s time to look forward and rekindle our passions. The Moon is in expansive, visionary Sagittarius. What’s on the horizon that you are galloping toward?
Mercury enters the heart of Leo, where heart infuses the mind. A renewed enthusiasm for learning may arise, but this aspect can be a bit of a know-it-all, as people take more pride in their opinions and views.
Vesta conjoins the north node of destiny, inviting us to connect with our eternal spiritual flame. What gives your soul purpose? Vesta cultivates the ability to sacrifice, ritual, and dedication. It’s time to devote more energy to the fire that excites your spirit.
The Sun trines Neptune and squares Jupiter. Might we hear more about this health care bill? Creativity is enhanced, but beware of seeing what you want to see. There might be a quality of overdoing, overextending or domineering. Even a good soul can unknowingly blind others with their light. You may feel encouraged that anything is possible! However, Jupiter usually enlarges whatever is going on.
Thursday, July 6th, the Sagittarius Moon conjoins with wild woman Lilith, suggesting that the instinctive, primal side of Sagittarius may be activated today. Cravings for freedom, nature, open spaces, open sky, adventures, journeys and quests. Choose activities which make you feel free. Go with your instincts.
Friday, July 7th, feel inspired this morning. You can see your future and it’s exciting! You see the illuminated path and the rush of possibility warms your spirit. The Moon turns void of course in Sagittarius, tinted by Uranus, the agitator. Positively, the settled matter at the bottom of the bottle, swirls upward, bringing the mixture to life. Like the rising of the kundalini, the potential is awakened. The day invites new ideas, renewed vitality, and can be positive for the nerves. Mercury and Venus perfect their sextile formation, acknowledging a harmony between head and heart, communication and desire. The Moon enters Capricorn at 1:45 EDT.
Saturday, July 8th, is a quiet day with few aspects. In the reserved, contained and focused sign of Capricorn, today is best spent tending to practical matters or working toward something of of long-term benefit. It’s a chill, down to earth day, combining ease and effort. The Moon sextiles Neptune and squares Jupiter within the 6:00 hour, making way for a slightly indulging meal and good company. Seek beauty. The Capricorn Moon wants to be frugal and order something smaller or healthier but Jupiter challenges that you deserve to treat yourself. Which planet will win? It’s all about balance and reaping rewards if earned.
Full Moon :: Sunday, July 9th :: 00:07 am EDT :: 17⁰09 Capricorn
The Capricorn Full Moon answers to what you began building in January 2016. Wherever this degree lands in your chart is where you laid new foundation in your life, and now, we are seeing the results.
Capricorn rules our long-term goals, ambitions, where we are invested and what we are building; it’s where we have a grounded purpose and do the work on a gradual basis. “Rome was not built in a day,” is the motto here. In construction, the most important aspects are the foundation and the skeletal structure. Do the large structures in your life still feel supportive? The Full Moon aligns with the Mars/Pluto opposition, illuminating resourcefulness and willpower, but also, our feelings. Maybe the structure is sturdy, but are you comfortable there? With Mars/Pluto, it’s vital that we are passionate and excited about where we direct our energy. Wilted passions could become reinvigorated.
The tenacity of Mars/Pluto can make it challenging to let go. You’ve put so much time and energy into this creation, which conditions our readiness to release and evolve in a new direction. Jupiter exasperates any issues and by now, it’s too big to ignore. You must do something now. Saturn trines the north node of destiny, aligning you with your purpose. What feels best and seems to flow? The path of least resistance is probably your bet, reserving energy for new growth.
The Sabian image for this degree is “The union jack flies from a new British warship.” Pick your battle. A new ship is setting sail. Perhaps it’s time to rebrand the mission.
Monday, July 10th, the Sun perfects its opposition to Pluto, which is an aspect of potency and depth, however, we are able to make light of life’s complexities. The Aquarius Moon wants to connect and relate. With a trine to Venus in Gemini, conversation is anything but dull! Consciousness can be intense, but when you have good friends to laugh about life with, no one’s getting thrown in the cenote! Be the observer and take on a dark sense of humor!
Ceres moves into Cancer, behaving as the fiercely protective divine mother. Out of bounds and prone to extremes, look out for themes of over-protection, custody, defensiveness and unwarranted mothering. Ceres remains out of bounds for most of the month; ruling nourishment and grains, I wonder if we will want to overeat!
Tuesday, July 11th, may be a chatty morning. The networking Aquarius Moon makes an early trine to Jupiter in Libra, who wants to connect and relate. Focusing might be an issue today, so instead improvise and be creative. In the evening, the Moon trines responsible Saturn, when we turn in at a decent hour and make more sustainable choices. We are invited to let go of a habit that doesn’t serve us so well.
Wednesday, July 12th, everything is perfectly imperfect. Just allow any surprises and go with it. The Moon enters Pisces at 11:51 EDT, when we soften and relax our focus. d rigidity. The more flexible you can be, the smoother the day will flow. Saturn people may have trouble with this. There a kite formation, so if you can lighten up enough, the unexpected change of course can take you somewhere magnificent.
Thursday, July 13th, are we still figuring out this health care bill? Today’s yod formation seems to carry such themes of legislature and hidden agendas. The Moon conjoins Neptune, so even though you want to drop out into abysmal oneness, it’s important to pay attention. Don’t be fooled. You can dream deeply when you sleep tonight.
Friday, July 14th, some of us don’t want to adult today! Maybe we are feeling bummed out about something or we can’t get the motivation we need. The Moon turns void with a trine to Mars in Cancer at 1:00 pm EDT. It’s hard to do something if we don’t feel like it! Feelings will color the afternoon and early evening until we get reenergized at 7:52 pm when the Moon enters impulsive Aries. Something might “click” around 5 pm, when you see something for what it is.
Saturday, July 15th, exact aspects are quiet in the sky today. But we might be feeling the tension of the Mars/Uranus square, which perfects on Monday. This can be a volatile combination if not mindfully handled. Challenging on the nerves, people may feel at their wits end. “I don’t give a fuck any longer!” The impulse to break free, break rules and quit limiting situations is on the table. More positively, the is an overall desire to experiment and to get closer to the “edge.”
Knowing that this energy is prominent this weekend, we can consciously choose ways to break the mold that aren’t so reckless! Mars square Uranus is the “pedal to the metal” aspect and gives a need for speed, so buckle up and seek your thrills. But be safe! The evening is made for enjoyment and socializing, but go easy, as we are prone to over-doing.
Sunday, July 16th, shake it free or give it an outlet. The energy I spoke of yesterday is still present, while today, Luna conjoins with Eris, the enraged feminine archetype. In mythology, Eris had every right to be pissed off. Know that your anger and frustrations are justified; but what can be done about it? There is a kite formation today, which can elevate and transport, but first the heaviness must be left behind. We are not always in control of what’s going on around us, but it’s up to us how we respond to it.
The Moon squares the Sun, moving toward the last chapter of this lunation cycle. What else do you have to do to feel nurtured and to extend it to others? Mercury inconjuncts Pluto, so we might hear or uncover something that rubs us the wrong way.
Monday, July 17th, the Taurus Moon seeks to satisfy senses and desires today. When it comes to spending, try to keep the pleasures simple; we’ve got rose-colored glasses on, so we can easily delude ourselves. It’s a great day to fall in love because we won’t see flaws, or we will glamorize them. Probably not the best day to make impulsive decisions, unless it’s a decadent dessert! On the plus side, the Neptune energy is ideal for art, meditation, music, wandering and other fluid activities.
Vesta enters Virgo today, so after you indulge a bit today, you may be drawn toward reprioritizing. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but soon. This is a great time to begin healthier rituals. What small improvement can you integrate into the daily routine?
Mars perfects its square to Uranus today (wild impulsiveness) while Neptune erodes our sense of importance. It’s about to be a weird day.
Tuesday, July 18th, can be a very productive day. You shook off what you needed to and now it’s time to hunker down and return to the practical matters, meaning and duty. You are a steam roller, but so is everyone else! The evening is nice for socializing and enjoyment. The Moon squares the nodes of destiny offering a choice: doing what you feel versus doing what’s best for the group, or passion versus disassociating. Choose to get heated or not.
Wednesday, July 19th, the Gemini Moon makes no aspects today. Enjoy a spontaneous day and use it how you like! Mercury trines Saturn helping to solidify an idea. Words have meaning.
Thursday, July 20th, Mars leaves moody Cancer and enters passionate Leo at 8:19 am but we may not feel the complete shift until the Sun enters Leo on Saturday.
The Gemini Moon merges with Venus for lighthearted conversation, banter and playfulness. It’s going to be one of those days when it’s hard to sit still. This is the type of morning where you’ll want to treat yourself to a coffee after your morning workout. Venus in Gemini has an easy time spending $5 here and then $8 there. This combo answers to Mercury on the north node, which means that someone’s words, spending, frivolousness, carelessness is going to have an impact. Mercury is also the salesman, the thief and the trickster. Let’s see what happens! The Moon opposes Saturn, which makes for a productive afternoon and evening. Duty calls and tasks are taken care of, even if you’d rather be doing something else.
The Sun squares Uranus, enriching us with a desire for excitement. “What else is possible?” asks Uranus. What has become too limiting and needs to change? Uranus transits carry a vibration of suddenness. Changes can happen like lightning speed. You didn’t see it coming! That person just moved out, quit their job and went on an adventure. Uranus challenges our worldview and complacency.
Friday, July 21st, Mercury remains aligned on the north node in Leo, which says, “this is who I am, this is my truth.” The message arrives unfiltered, because the truth cannot stay hidden any longer. There’s a sudden recklessness, where the consequences are no longer outweighed by how one feels. The truth is spoken and now there’s no going back. A new structure, a new reality adjusts accordingly. The person feels they will die if they don’t speak up.
Maybe this resonates with you on a personal level. It’s time to honor your senses: emotional, intuitive, psychic. Emotions are not something that we should learn to dominate with rationale. Emotions are a physical-sensory experience reflecting what is going on in a layer of our aura called the emotional body, which carries non-verbal memories and imprints. Our senses and our instincts are meaningful! They are often more useful tools than the mind, which is ruled by the trickster Mercury. The mind often deceives, while the gut never lies. Now more than ever, it’s important to listen.
Saturday, July 22nd, today is a unique day because it is the only day of the year in which both the Sun and Moon, our two luminaries, are in their home signs of Leo and Cancer (respectively)! I’m excited to observe this, but I imagine that aside from some of the emotional restlessness in the air, there will be a general contentedness that all is in order and as it should be.
We are all a living process─ an evolutionary unfolding of divine expression. The light of the Sun is the love of Creation; it’s life. The Moon represents the Primal Mother who nurtures our development and receives us unconditionally. The primal symbolism of the Sun and Moon is everywhere: the yin-yang, night-day, extrovert-introvert… we live in a dimension of duality. May we all connect with the courage to shine, express our authentic truth and radiate our soul’s essence into the world, while also feeling emotionally supported, loved, heard and nourished.
The Moon opposes Pluto early in the morning, which helps us to access our inherent gifts, power, potential and resources. Today we have x-ray vision to detect underlying truth and meaning. Pluto helps get to the root of the issue and once you see it, you can’t look at it the same and evolution naturally unfolds.
In perfect harmony, today is the day before the new moon, which is ideal for reflection, quiet contemplation and going with the flow. Today is not the day to begin a new adventure or begin something momentous. Rest and allow.
New Moon :: Sunday, July 23rd :: 0⁰44’ Leo :: 5:45 am EDT
The immense heart of the Leo New Moon is energized by a tight conjunction with Mars. Leo represents the expressive, creative qualities which are limbs of our soul’s essence. What makes us alive is the divine spark which lives in our heart; the heartbeat pumps lifeforce through the physical body and simultaneously generates the auric field. The heart is also where we feel intensely.
This new moon begins a new cycle around how we pursue joy, and fulfill our hearts desire. It’s also a chance to check in with what we are projecting into the world. Ruled by the radiant Sun, Leo is the star in the spotlight whose performance influences the room. This is why Leo’s have a reputation for being dramatic! You are the star of your life, so what’s the story you are projecting?
Mars governs action─ the conscious choices we make each day. In Leo, Mars makes decisions to the heart’s accord. What does your heart desire? This placement can be incredibly passionate, ambitious and willful and anything standing in the way should heed the warrior spirit. “Love conquers all.”
Mars is the War God. Why does man battle? Pride, honor, ego… or for matters of the heart. But the heart isn’t always pure. Much of the issues in the world are caused by greed and megalomania, or said another way, heart chakra blockage! Only hurt people hurt others. The Sabian symbol reads: “under emotional stress, blood runs to a man’s head.” LOVE can be the only answer.
Eclipse season is here! This New Moon culminates with a Lunar Eclipse! Eclipses carry a fated quality in the collective, and in our personal lives if it aspects sensitive points in our natal charts. Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio and Taurus, especially. Pay attention to what arises for you on and around this New Moon.
Monday, July 24th, positive vibes fill the morning, with a renewed warmth and optimism. Jupiter offers an opportunity to see something in a new way or reach beyond the norm. Venus opposes Saturn, which speaks of appropriate boundaries and limits in our relationships, finances and desires. This is a period of checking in with the rules you’ve set for yourself. Have you been doing a good job saving money? Have you been celibate for too long? Or do you need to guard your resources better? This is simply a time of checking in, although it feels abruptly in your face. There might be an interaction or event in which you are confronted by your value system. This is a chance to reinforce your values or to make any changes that feel right. Are we too closed off or are we too liberal with the matters of the heart? What needs to change?
It’s important to pay attention to whatever arises on/around today; Mercury enters his “shadow.” In other words, when Mercury turns retrograde next month, this is the place he will retrace his steps back to. If your phone goes berserk, back it up. Pay attention to what happens between now and August 12th, as this will play into your Mercury retrograde story. Don’t do anything different, don’t be afraid to take action, just simply pay attention. This is also the eclipse degree at the end of August. Super potent. Stay alert.
Mercury trines Uranus, which offers creativity, miraculous flowing insight, a sharpness and quickness of the mind, wit, and a clarity of consciousness. Today has much potential for productivity, creativity and social enjoyment. What an awesome, dynamic day.
Tuesday, July 25th, Mercury enters their home sign of Virgo at 7:41 pm EDT. In Gemini, it’s all about gathering information, while in Virgo, it’s about assimilating it. Like the digestive process, it’s about sorting the information: “This is useful, this is not.” Mercury in Virgo gives us more discernment, refinement and attention to detail. Mercury will have an extended stay in Virgo (due to retrograde motion), now through September 30th. Thus, we will have plenty of time to triple check anything we are working on.
The Moon joins Mercury in its passage to Virgo. Virgo emphasizes the daily routine which creates our reality. The small choices you make each day add up. If you want to master something, you must put the time in regularly. Today is ideal for nurturing your routine, health, skills and your vocation. The Moon aligns with Vesta, which is about devotion, service to something bigger than you. What are you working toward?
Wednesday, July 26th, do we ever truly awaken from the dream? Is any of this real? Are facts even facts? Neptune asks that we surrender to the flow, at least in the morning. Whatever happens, happens; whatever you feel should be honored. It is what it is. For now. Everything is in motion and life is a kaleidoscope. Our orientation shifts in the afternoon when the Moon aspects Pluto. Time to get to work! You are an autonomous extension of the whole, with free will, desires and complexities. Use it to serve the now. The evening might be a cranky one, with the Moon’s square to Saturn. There’s a disappointment with the way things are, but it will surely pass.
The Sun finally overtakes Mars. These two have been travelling closely for the entire month, which has intensified the will, sharpened our edge and illuminated our warrior spirit. We sense a shift; the battle is behind us and now we don’t have to put so much effort. We become the sword. Now how will you wield it?
Thursday, July 27th, enjoy a peaceful and introspective morning by going with the flow. The Moon is void all morning, which is great for follow through and routine activities, but don’t force activity if you can avoid it. We are under the influence of Venus and Chiron this morning, suggesting themes of “the harmony produced by witnessing the process.” Just allow and see what wisdom arrives. The Moon enters Libra at 11:37 am EDT. Now we can initiate and it will have been worth our while to wait. Relate, listen, share, harmonize your energies with others in the symphony of living vibrations that is life. To harmonize doesn’t mean you can’t polarize or stand out!
Friday, July 28th, the Moon conjoins Jupiter in Libra, infusing optimism and abundance into the day. So what if you overindulge a bit? Jupiter reminds us that we should enjoy the present moment. We are free and sovereign beings, so why not immerse in life’s pleasures once in a while? In the evening, Pluto gets involved and urges us to look a little deeper. This is excellent for meditation or deep conversation. Get to the bottom of it and evolve the experience.
Saturday, July 29th, do the important things early and then break free at 5:30 pm EDT. You build the sand castle and now you can stomp on it. Uranus encourages us to take a chance, get wild and do something out of the ordinary. See what else is possible. The excitement stabilizes with the Moon’s entry into Scorpio at 8:23 pm. Riffing off of the Uranian unpredictability, Scorpio has both a dark and dirty sense of humor, which makes for a fun night, but also bonding. Whether, trusted friends or acquaintances, everyone’s bound to feel a little more intimate with one another by the end of the night!
Sunday, July 30th, leap out of bed with the impulse to get moving. The Moon squares Mars, indicating a restlessness or a passionate will. The square can feel frustrating without adequate outlets. What’s in your way? Venus sextiles Uranus, which is the craving for excitement, freedom and authenticity. What makes you feel free, unlimited and blissful? What makes you feel like you are thriving? Treat yourself a bit today, but only because you simply deserve it!
Monday, July 31st, the Moon is void for the entire day. Allow yourself to go with the flow if you can. These all-day lunar voids are gifts of rest, catch-up, going with the flow and allowing for us to be intuitively guided. Much of our lives are ruled by schedules, commitments, responsibility and expectation, while days such as today offer relief. If you are reading this in advance, it might be opportune to take an extended weekend. The dog days of summer are here.
Venus enters the sensitive sign of Cancer, emphasizing our feeling nature. Venus in Cancer seeks to belong─ to be a valued member of the tribe. In Gemini, it was all about working the room, but in Cancer, we know who’s in the tribe. Cancer is the sign of the family, so we seek to feel at home in our environment. Food and nourishment are huge parts of this. What is the food your soul needs? Maybe it’s not literal food, but since Cancer governs our roots and we are rooted in the physical body, we must listen to what our body is telling us. Allow yourself to receive the nourishment you crave, and rest if need be.
The Moon squares the nodes of fate, offering a choice of direction. Remember, it’s eclipse season, so it will definitely feel fated. The level of intensity that this is felt depends on where the eclipses are occurring in your chart, but especially for Leo, Aquarius, Taurus and Scorpio.
Aho Mitakyue Oyasin. May Mother Earth and all her inhabitants be awakened to our unity, and the highest LOVE of the Universe.
Love, peace and healing to ALL....
“Chiron is experiential.”
I would agree with renowned astrologer Barbara Hand Clow, that to truly understand the gifts of Chiron, one must experience it for themselves. Most commonly known as “the wounded healer,” Chiron represents the wound that becomes our teacher. Over time, as we move from pain to peace, from disempowerment to strength, we transmute the wound into wisdom. If Chiron is strong in our natal charts, it suggests that we may be able to channel that very wisdom into healing work with others.
Chiron was unlike the other centaurs. With vast knowledge of herbal medicine, Chiron championed as a healer, sleep and dream specialist, a prophet, astrologer, musician and alchemist. Also skilled in hunting, archery and gymnastics, he was a mentor great warriors like Asclepius, Achilles, Jason, Perseus and Hercules.
With Chiron’s discovery in 1977 came the resurgence of homeopathy, energy healing, past life regression, interest in psychic and astral realms, alternative healing, kinesiology and more.
Chiron has an elliptical orbit, which causes it to spend more time in some signs than others. Chiron links Saturn and Uranus, combing practical skills and training with intuitive guidance.
Chiron in Pisces:
Chiron has been traveling in Pisces since 2010 and will stay through 2018. Together with Neptune in Pisces, we have seen an up-swell in yoga, meditation, alternative healing, and a push to legalize cannabis for healing purposes. Further, as Pisces rules hidden realms of consciousness, there has been a wave of entertainment featuring psychic, angelic, alien and otherworldly characters.
As previously stated, Chiron is experiential. I’ve been getting Chiron transits nonstop for the past couple years. And as I’ve come to discover, Chiron is very prominent in my natal chart as well. I am going to share two stories of Chiron exemplifying both ease and challenge. I must first preface that I went through a trauma that began in 2012 and put my life on hold through 2014. I attribute this trauma astrologically to Pluto and Uranus who ganged up on my sweet natal Venus while Saturn depressed my natal Moon. So, although Chiron represents the wound, he’s not always creating it. More so, I believe Chiron represents our evolving relationship to the wound.
Chiron in the Organic Healing Flow
In this chapter of my life, Chiron forms a harmonious Grand Trine with my Ascendant and my Moon. Grand trines consist of 3+ planets in a triangle, each 120⁰ apart. This aspect expresses as a flowing synergy of ease and cooperation. Each planet in a grand trine will typically share the same element. In my case, this is the water element, which is emotional, karmic and subtle.
In May 2015, Chiron first trined my ascendant; this is when I decided I would create my blog. I was ready to present myself to the world as an astrologer in a more direct way. This would prove to be very healing for me as it aligned me closer with my purpose.
Through the rest of 2015, and through 2016, I sought to rebalance my nervous system, heal PTSD symptoms, and slowly make peace with my past. Healing is a precious and delicate process which takes time; never is it easy, but things seemed to flow along smoothly. With trines, it’s not completely effortless. You must say yes and participate. The help was present and I moved through a huge chunk of multidimensional pain.
In the summer of 2016, our neighbor’s cat started coming over to hang out a lot. We became good friends with Garfield as his owners would disappear for weeks at a time. He was often hungry and starved for attention. We desperately wanted to give him a flea bath as we could tell he was really suffering from them. Both orange cats, Garfield reminded me of Rigel, the cat I had wanted to bring home with me from NYC, but the trauma prevented me from doing so. The loss of Rigel left a hole in my heart that Garfield was now beginning to fill─ but Garfield was not yet mine.
That Fall, moving trucks arrived at my neighbor’s house. I mourned my bond with this orange cat and made peace that I would never see him again. I rationalized that our house was too small for a pet any way.
Two days later, Garfield emerged from the bushes. Meow, meow, meow! He rolled on his back in the dirt and excitedly demonstrated how happy he was to see us. Who knows why, but he had been abandoned. We made Garfield a bed outside our door, where he slept until the snow arrived.
On December 1st 2016, Chiron stationed direct at 20⁰ Pisces (moving forward!) in exact trine to my Ascendant and to my Moon. It was that very night that we coincidentally given Garfield his flea bath and brought him into our home for the first night.
Garfield joined us on the couch as we wound down for bed. Blissed out of his mind, he purred loudly. For the first time in a long time, I looked around and had the feeling that all is right in the world. Everything is perfect and as it should be. I realized that it’s not just me and my partner anymore: we are a trifecta. This is my family now. After a long month of trying to elevate my spirits, I finally found the medicine I needed: helping someone in need… and experiencing something move full circle… the universe knows better than I do. The timing is always right. This experience showed me that I should never worry; Creation has my back.
The Effort to
We as humans always make excuses for our pain, and we just deal with it until it becomes a bigger problem. May 2017 was a very busy month and I finally hit my brink. I decided that I would flow with Venus and Mars and become gentler with myself in June. I decided I would begin a cleansing diet, and that I would finally address a pain deep in my right thigh that had been bothering me since 2013.
Coincidentally, I began seeing my chiropractor on the day that transiting Mars conjoined my natal Chiron! And as it turns out my doctor knows his natal chart well, and he confirmed that Chiron is indeed prominent in his chart.
Transiting Chiron is forming a grand square with 3 of my natal planets. That is, there is one planet at each corner, each 90⁰ apart. Traditionally, the grand square is considered very challenging, but can produce amazing results if you put forth the required action and effort. Chiron in Pisces squares my natal Uranus in Sagittarius (nerves, hip region), natal Chiron in Gemini (nerves again) and opposes my Mars in Virgo. Mars rules my career house and I would say that this pain is exasperated by standing a lot, but also, Mars rules action… might my yoga practice be affecting this too?
Chiron is much about process. Astrologer Barbara Hand Clow advocates that Chiron is the natural ruler of Virgo, which correlates with the “adjustment” aspect: the 150⁰ quincunx. I’ve done much contemplation over this healing process and I see her point very clearly. The work of a chiropractor requires frequent visits in the beginning─ small, consistent adjustments. Further, the doctor combines practical knowledge of the body (Saturn) with a spark of intuitive guidance (Uranus). This combination reflects the very orbit of Chiron which links Saturn and Uranus.
Between my first visit to the chiropractor, recalling that I was having so many Chiron transits and beginning my new diet, I realized now was the time to finally read an entire book dedicated to Chiron.
Then it hit me….
“I’m doing a ‘rainbow diet’…. and Barbara Hand Clow wrote a book called ‘Chiron and the Rainbow Bridge’…. !!!”
I immediately ordered the book.
The diet I had decided to do was inspired by Yogi Bhajan’s alkalizing all green diet. But since I eat so many greens, I decided I would eat the entire rainbow.
Beginning with a few days of all red foods, I would ascend through the color spectrum a couple days at a time. All in all, I spent about 10 days eating entirely plant based foods, abstaining from alcohol and meditating.
As a result, my excitement about eating was totally rejuvenated. I got more creative, quick-pickled veggies, made veggie burgers for the first time and tried new fruits and veggies I’d never eaten before. Additionally, a ton of synchronicity and magic spilled into my awareness, similar to the synergy of rainbows and Chiro-‘s I’ve described.
But after a couple weeks, my progress stalled. My doctor seemed a bit frustrated at the one visit, but I remain understanding that it’s really deep rooted. It’s a process. However, I am ready for it to go away already!
My partner and I went for a walk in the woods after a particularly emotional day. As we walked along a stream, we noticed a newly fallen tree bowed over the river. “Look, it’s leaves are still green,” I said. “Well its roots are still connected,” he pointed out.
I stared at the thick roots connecting the tree to the Earth. I contemplated the stress and strain they felt as the force of the fall yanked them. I thought of my sciatic nerves in my legs… and then the Plutonian experience I’d had around the start of this pain: my life was literally uprooted, yanked viciously away… I was that tree.
Later that week, I revisited the tree. It had moved down river. In time, the pain moves and the experience transforms. One thing that is certain in life is change. You might reach total vibrancy, success, perfect health or enlightenment, but one thing can change it all.
I recognize that my area of pain has everything to do with my root chakra. For now, I’m using the mantra “I love where I am at right now,” and “It’s vital that my roots feel nourished right now,” while I load up on beets, potatoes, yams, rainbow carrots, onions, ginger, garlic, peanut butter and turmeric! I have more exploring of roots to do.
Everyone around me is either having babies, dying, moving or traveling. As excitement overflows in the lives of others, I’m conversely trying to maintain content with exactly where I am in the now. Root deeper… As someone who’s always lived intensely, actively and ambitiously, it’s weird for me to do this, but I recognize how vital it is. And in many ways this is happening naturally. I finally feel that everything is in place. I just need to remind myself that my roots are being nourished each time I hear about someone else’s excitement.
More of that root chakra oil please!

You can finally heave a sigh of relief...
For the first time in a long time, it feels like we can finally relax a bit. The personal planets soften this month, allowing us ample space to replenish. Venus has been in Aries for an extended period, helping us to be more direct about what we want. Energized and spunky, though abrasive and selfish at times, we have gleaned what we can and welcome Venus back to the sweetness of Taurus. Here, we can slow down to smell the roses, and appreciate simply what is. Similarly, Mars grounds down in Cancer, allowing intuition and feeling to guide us. It’s time to soften and nourish.
Yogi Bhajan said there are two ways of getting what you want. One is to go out there and get it; the other is to cultivate your vibration and attract everything toward you. This month, we balance the former with the latter.
The first week of June carries a scattered energy, which coincidentally isn’t uncommon for Gemini. Thus, we may be especially busy, playing catch up and enjoying the summer. With the dual quality of Gemini and the scatterbrained aspects, be ready to do things over again!
Another bold pattern this month (especially this first week) is the abundance of quincunx (150⁰) aspects, indicating adjustments, health and healing. Gemini is all about choices, after all. This would be a great week to schedule an acupuncture treatment or get a check-up with your doctor. Take the time to give yourself what you need!
Thursday, June 1st: for the next few days, we are called to re-wild ourselves and to consciously let our primal instincts guide us. The Sun conjoins Ceres and opposes Lilith, fusing two very different archetypes: agriculture verses foraging, or smother love versus independence. Pay attention to these themes as one may require more attention. We all require nurturing, but none of us feel nurtured quite the same way. Our needs are all very different. How do we cultivate this feeling for ourselves?
Today, we can get lost in the details and become a tad idealistic. The challenge will be to try to gain an enlarged perspective to see that it’s all perfectly imperfect. Venus trines Saturn, stabilizing a commitment or relationship, and enhancing creativity. Let the inspiration flow. In the late hours of the evening, the Virgo Moon trines Pluto, which is a readiness to see ourselves standing in our power. We recognize our potential; we have what it takes.
Friday, June 2nd, Venus moves within 1⁰ of Uranus, reemphasizing the ongoing theme of re-wilding. Perhaps we are craving more freedom, spontaneity or space in general. Are you really needing a vacation? Do something before you snap! This is high-voltage energy which requires more space to move. Do something that makes you feel unleashed, fully expressed and free. Cut loose.
Venus rules relationships, so this is an excellent time to do something out of the ordinary with your partner; dare to try something you’ve always wanted to but haven’t yet, or rekindle an activity you once enjoyed when the relationship first began. This is also a time when we see couples split because they crave more freedom. Something is begging for a release, and it might be the relationship itself. Look out for radical, revolutionary or shocking behavior in the world around you. This aspect makes it easy to frivolously spend money!
The Moon squares Saturn at 11:21 am, which implies some sort of frustration, conflict or not getting one’s way. There is a tendency to worry, but try not to be so picky. There is a balance in the universe and we can’t always have our way. Rest assured that a fun weekend lies ahead! Shake it off when the Moon goes void with a square to Mars at 5:48 EDT. It’s time for an outlet. We should feel much more collected by 8:04 pm when the Moon finally enters the sign of Libra. Recalibration, balance and peace.
Saturday, June 3rd, we can still feel the pulse of the wild. Are you feeling rebellious? Ask yourself what you need in this moment. What urges can be satisfied today? Perhaps you need to break your own rules every once in a while. The Sun trines Jupiter, allowing us to feel more generous, optimistic, and prosperous. Happiness and health are true prosperity. We feel like expanding our reach; spread your wings now and have faith in your truth.
Sunday, June 4th, the indulgence spills over from yesterday. The Libra Moon isn’t done relating and filling up on enjoyment. Besides, there is an early morning square to Pluto that leaves us feeling deep, contemplative or wanting to change something. This can be fuel for getting things off the ground and moving─ especially creative projects. The Sun squares Neptune and we peer into the infinite, ever-mystical starry abyss. It’s overwhelming to contemplate the interconnectedness of All through time and space. Empathy and compassion elevate as borders between us dissolve. Today is a powerful day to enjoy art, music or theater whose message are felt.
Mars leaves airy Gemini and moves into watery Cancer, where the will to act is conditioned by feeling. We go with our gut now, which isn’t what the spearhead prefers. We may be more inclined to put our home, family, tribe and feelings first. Mars remains “out of bounds,” exponentially charging the relationship between our feelings and or actions. If you feel strongly about something, you’ll do it; if you really don’t feel like it, don’t! Watch for passive aggressiveness. Mars in Cancer knows how to get what it wants, but isn’t always direct. This transit might be especially challenging for Scorpio and Aries, as they may feel their edge has been dulled. Receive it as a blessing and see what it can show you. (Through July 20th.)
Monday, June 5th, the Moon enters Scorpio at 6:46 am and trines its ruler Mars. We may feel private, protective or restorative. The past week was wild and active as we gave ourselves outlets. Now it’s time to refuel our reserve. Take it easy. The Sun officially joins Ceres today (although they have been travelling closely for the past week), encouraging us to replenish. Perhaps someone close to us needs some assistance. Venus is at the last degree of Aries saying “self-care is a radical act.” Mercury squares the nodes of fate. Whose words will exalt or damage?
Tuesday, June 6th, we should feel a noticeable energetic shift once we wake up, but especially by the end of the day. First, Venus enters Taurus. This is a big deal because Venus has been in Pisces and Aries since the beginning of the year due to retrograde. The lesson is finally complete.
Venus in Aries gave everyone a sharpness─ even prickly or abrasive at times! We focused on ourselves to get clear on our purpose, priorities and desires. Call it “consciously selfish,” if you wish. Libra, Taurus and Pisces would have had the toughest time with this transit, although it probably proved to be very helpful! Now, Venus returns home to Taurus, inviting us to be receptive, sensual and calm. Smell the roses, chew slowly and listen. There is no rush. Ground down.
Mercury also goes home today, moving into Gemini this evening. (Are we back in Kansas again?) The mind is nimble, alert and curious. Mercury may be our saving grace while Venus and Mars kick their feet up. Mercury in Gemini will keep us from getting too complacent. What else can we learn, experience and absorb as we soften?
The Moon goes void with a sextile to Pluto, coloring the evening and all day tomorrow with stamina and assured confidence in oneself.
Wednesday, June 7th, the Moon is void for the entire day, tinted by Pluto’s healing impetus. Traditionally on days like today, we are encouraged to go with the flow. If you have a to-do list, allow yourself space to be fluid rather than rigid, and chip away as you go. We can still be very productive, but we definitely don’t have to be. Reflection and deep introspection are also very valuable. Chiron can assist in transmuting pain into peace. The Moon squares the nodes of fate, offering us a choice of direction. Expression or reserve?
The void period concludes when the Moon enters Sagittarius at 6:59 pm EDT. At 11:36 pm, feelings polarize with the mind. Talk or write it out to bring to full awareness.
Thursday, June 8th, offers another quiet day with the heart of the seeker. Follow your bliss, your instinctive, freedom-loving spirit. It’s time for an adventure of some kind. Take a different path than usual to free the mind. The teachings of Don Juan advocate the value of “breaking routine” so that we don’t become stuck in life, and therefore remain young. Even if you have a lot of commitments today, try using your left hand if you usually use your right. Even small changes will make you smile!
Fantasy and otherworldly musings float us to the astral plane when the Moon squares Neptune at 11:47 pm. Excellent for dreaming, this is a space for imagination and infinite possibility. Merge with the stars. Dissolve borders.
FULL MOON :: Friday, June 9th, 2017 :: 9:10 am EDT :: 18⁰53’ Sagittarius
This is a boisterous one!
The Sagittarius Full Moon answers to Jupiter, who is stationing direct, thus quadrupling such expansive signatures. Both Jupiter and Sagittarius represent belief, faith, religion, world travel and developing the higher mind through educational, experiential or spiritual pursuits, while the shadow manifests as rigid doctrine. The Full Moon conjoins Saturn, whose protective function has proposed a harsh immigration ban and the infamous wall since entering Sagittarius in 2015.
This Full Moon answers to December 11th 2015, when GOP front runner,Donald Trump first announced his desire to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. Ironically, there are many parallels between this Full Moon chart and Trump’s natal chart. Trump was born on a Sag Full Moon (eclipse), also answering to a stationary Jupiter in Libra! Currently, the north node of fate aligns itself on Trump’s natal Mars, which rules his 4th house of home and family, as well as his 9th house of international affairs, belief and law.
The icing on the cake? The Sabian Symbol for the Full Moon’s degree reads: “Pelicans, disturbed by people, move their habitat.” Could this mean that Trump moves home? Wishful. Jupiter stations at a potent degree of global visibility. Whatever happens, the whole world will be watching and the United States will be the “life of the party.” As of this writing, the G7 faulted the U.S. for apathy and lack of cooperation in a congruently Sagittarian topic: global warming. This discussion is not over.
Movement and change are suggested within the Full Moon’s various astrological signatures; however, with Saturn’s involvement, we can expect a certain amount of resistance or difficulty first. Saturn also means having to take on more responsibility. You’ve got to get the inspection before the deal goes through!
As Sagittarius concerns itself with worldly matters and vast attempts to understand the big picture, it can easily become overwhelming. To balance our sanity, we can take a cue from Ecclesiastes: “Eat, drink and be merry.” For wisdom is also found in life’s simple pleasures. Celebrate life!
Saturday, June 10th, strike a balance between work and home life when Mars in Cancer is polarized by the industrious Capricorn Moon. Capricorn is a driven, goal oriented sign which strives to make its mark in the world; while Cancer is sensitive, nostalgic and tribal. One pole calls your attention stronger. In the evening, conversation and enjoyment flow smoothly with a trine to Venus.
Sunday, June 11th, we are blessed with an abundance of energy thanks to Luna’s square to Jupiter. Channel it productively is all that it asks. The Moon conjoins Juno, reminding us of a commitment, agreement or contract. It could be as simple as maintaining a commitment to one’s yoga practice. Whatever it may be, we have the energy to make it so! No need to worry about time; you’ll be floating with the ease of a raft on a river. The Moon conjoins Pluto at 9:23 pm, optimal for meditation or deep contemplation; brings darkness to light.
Monday, June 12th, while the morning may run smooth, the afternoon is sure to keep you guessing. The Moon turns void at 2:45pm EDT with a square to Uranus. Expect the unexpected: upsets, shocks, malfunctions and surprises. The excitement stabilizes (but doesn’t cease) when the Moon enters Aquarius at 7:45 pm. The lesson is to not get complacent. Everything in the Universe is constantly in motion, ever changing. Truly anything is possible.
Tuesday, June 13th, the airwaves are so electric that you can feel it! Snag an idea out of thin air while your phone vibrates off the table with how many texts you will receive today. There is a grand trine in Air! Conversation, ideas, messages and information stimulate the mind. The urge to relate and share is powerful today. As the evening goes on, worry not about practical application of ideas; instead just dare to wonder. All things that exist once began as an idea. Send the vibrations out into the cosmos and one day they just may boomerang back.
Wednesday, June 14th, the Aquarius Moon keeps things casually weird. Experimental and futuristic, put yourself out there and don’t be afraid of your unique eccentricities. As the Moon arrives on the vortex of the south node, we are welcome to release an old habit or idea down the sink hole. Saturn supports the integration of these changes into the everyday structure of your reality, but you must remain disciplined! Saturn only rewards effort.
Thursday, June 15th, carries a strange vibe. On one hand, we feel an interconnectedness with the Moon’s arrival into Pisces: universal love and compassion can flow through us, while we are especially sensitive to sounds, words and feelings. Neptune slows down to station retrograde; so if you are feeling spacey, lethargic and psychically porous, you are not alone! On the other hand, the Sun opposes Saturn, the task master and ruler of cold, hard reality. What a dichotomy!
It’s true that the physical world makes up only a fraction of existence, but it’s also the container of the divine. In the end, it’s all Goddess. The urge to escape reality may run strong today, but instead, we can seek ways to ground beauty into the world. How can we do our part to embody universal love in a way that feels safe and supportive to us? I know sometimes I feel out of place on this planet, and maybe you do too. But we have a purpose and duty here. Make your words, thoughts and actions count! Sun opposite Saturn can often be a confrontation from reality or reaping the rewards for hard work.
Friday, June 16th, yesterday’s existential crisis carries over into today (and probably tomorrow too). Neptune stations retrograde today, so watch for emotional waters inside and rain outside; water will be found somewhere! If you are feeling spacey or an existential longing, Neptune is speaking to you. But luckily today is Friday. If you have a normal job, balance duty with healthy transcendence. The Moon’s joining with Neptune encourages activities that help us to feel formless and timeless. Connect with your infinity by literally getting up high and seeing the expansive view before you. Facts challenge belief at 8:29 pm. Pay attention, and always question what you hear, read or see.
Saturday, June 17th, the morning is ideal for going with the flow. Worry later, be now. Chiron invites us to relax, reflect, restore, and dream. The energy kicks up once the Moon enters Aries at 1:55 pm EDT. Use it how you like!
Mercury leaves the Sun’s reach by moving “out of bounds.” Words and ideas cannot be held in, as very little gets filtered right now. The mind is untethered. Anxiety may be high these next couple of days, so give yourself outlets and try to stay present. If meditation is challenging, try a moving meditation. Anxiety comes from worry about the future and strained nerves. Get your magnesium and extra exercise if you are prone to anxiousness. On the positive side, the untethered mind is excellent for writing, multitasking and invention. Genius!
Sunday, June 18th: Happy Father’s Day! The Moon, Mars and Jupiter are working together to offer an energized, jovial, family-focused day. Chances are that dad will want to get some things done around the house before lounging on the patio with the family.
This is not a lazy, relaxing energy. Action is necessary and can be extremely productive and enjoyable. Dad may want to be on the move; let Dad have his way! There are some tough aspects to tiptoe around, so proper outlets are wise. Mercury opposes Saturn, which might mean a serious discussion or keeping one’s mouth shut. But hopefully the Sun’s sextile to Uranus will outshine such challenges. Today is an extremely dynamic day with excitement guaranteed.
Monday, June 19th, we may see something in a way we never had seen it before. Notice the pattern; notice the connections. The Moon conjoins with Uranus, which could be a sudden breakthrough, clarity, shock or surprise. Life is always in motion, so we are reminded not to get stagnant. The teaching is illumination and awareness.
Today moves fast and is highly energized. A triple kite formation sends us skyward with abundant ideas, inspiration, passion and inner vision. With so much air and fire, watch out; it’s contagious!
A fated formation involves Venus, Jupiter and Neptune. Collectively karmic in nature, these formations are hard to predict. What I can observe is that this seems to be a very feminine formation: resources, money, fairness, law, healthcare, deceit, liquid, beauty, icon. The energy slows to a simmer at 3:42 pm and mellows when the Moon enters Taurus at 5:53 pm.
Tuesday, June 20th, “opportunity” is the keyword of the day. Flowing aspects offer the potential to create, receive intuitive guidance or simply be. Be receptive and allow “it” to flow toward you. Whatever you receive may be non-liner and subjective. Avoid jam-packing your schedule if you can help it. Instead, be open to discovery. Align with your divine destiny.
The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year of the Northern Hemisphere. Astronomically, the Sun reaches its highest declination above the celestial equator at 23⁰N27’, but also reaches 0⁰ Cancer along the ecliptic. For most of the world, the Solstice peaks on June 21st, but for the west coast, it will be June 20th.
Today, daylight is the most victorious, symbolic of the active, outward yang energy. This is the time of year to celebrate our vitality, potency and vibrancy. Celebrate your light─ outward and inward! The Solstices are powerful times of energetic shifting; when we tune into these energetic shifts, we can consciously direct this extra electrical charge into various aspects of our lives. You might find some time today to connect with your light bodies; visualize them lively, vibrant and fully expressed.
Also known as Midsummer or Litha, there are many ways to honor the longest day of the year. One simple ritual might be to remain outdoors for most of the day; celebrate the thriving green earth in all its majesty. Then, watch the sun set. Inherent in this peak of light, is the promise of the night: from here the days will grow shorter.
Wednesday, June 21st, Summer is officially here. Both the Sun and Mercury move into Cancer, the sign of roots, home, family, and tribe. Cancer is intuitive and feeling-driven, and though sensitive on the inside, there’s a tough outer shell to lead with. It’s summer, so make like a crab and do what you feel! Mercury and Mars are both out of bounds in Cancer, so watch for tantrums and emotional outbursts. You can’t always fight the feeling. The gut doesn’t lie!
In contrast to the summer solstice vital peak, the Moon is void for the entire day, which is when we often want to relax. Essentially, go with the watery flow and do what you feel! You can still be very active, but don’t hold yourself to a rigid schedule. Let your senses guide. The Moon enters social Gemini at 6:44 pm. 5 planets are on the world axis today. Let’s see what happens on the world stage.
Thursday, June 22nd, keep it light. The Gemini Moon doesn’t want to get deep or serious. Besides, it’s the day before the New Moon, which is a day best spent on the chill side. Casually connect and hang with pals. The mind still craves stimulus, so today is excellent for reading, podcasts and educational entertainment─ at least until becoming formless with the lunar square to Neptune at 5:18 pm. Now you can drop out of reality; quit answering texts and get lost in your record collection.
NEW MOON :: Friday, June 23rd, 2017 :: 10:30 pm EDT :: 2⁰47’ Cancer
This month we’ve finally had the space to slow down, receive and replenish ourselves. Now we take this knowledge and seed a new cycle around nurturing, home and family. How do we balance meeting our own needs so that we have enough juice in the tank to sufficiently care for others?
Cancer is ruled by the Moon, which symbolizes our primal instincts. As babies, we first absorb our world without words, with a language that is psychic, instinctive and sensing. The Moon also represents the mother and the infant. The psychic imprints of our early environment largely influence how we meet our emotional and biological needs as an adult. Finding where your Moon lives in your natal chart can reveal much regarding our subconscious needs and how to care for them.
Once we know what we need, we can communicate our needs and expectations and desires to our loved ones. A healthy, thriving relationship always has honest, clear communication. The New Moon conjoins Mercury in the early degrees of Cancer, highlighting how we communicate and process our needs, as well as the power of words to harm or heal.
There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to nurturing. In addition to learning your natal chart, the 5 Languages of Love test is another great way to clue into what our needs are in love. The true message of this New Moon is to be clear on what we need so that we know exactly what to do when we need to. We live in wild times, so we much be efficient in juggling the demands of the world, but also honoring our sacred self.
Saturday, June 24th, we have an excessive amount of fuel in the tank today. Get creative and use it wisely. A helpful trine from Venus to Pluto guides us to use resources wisely. One of the most valuable resources today is our time, and today’s Mars/Jupiter square gives us more than enough energy to take advantage. Better out than in, burn out if need be. The Moon trines Neptune at 4:42 pm; now it’s time to take it easy and notice magic in your world.
Sunday, June 25th, the energy spills over from yesterday. Get moving, apply it, give it form. Cut loose. If you’ve been really disciplined, reward yourself with some wiggle room. The Moon goes void with a square to Uranus at 2:44 pm, coloring the afternoon with a dose of the uncanny and unpredictable. The energy contains at 6:06 pm when the Moon enters Leo. Be open to possibility all day.
Monday, June 26th, optimism, creativity and an expansive outlook guide the day. The Leo Moon invites you to follow your heart, passions and bliss. Mars trine to Neptune invites intuition, meditative, fluid and subjective experiences.
Tuesday, June 27th, today we are invited to connect with our heart’s truth. The Moon conjoins with Vesta, our infinite flame. What keeps your fire burning? What is your passion? Your purpose? Nurture that precious flame. Vesta represents devotion, ritual, sacredness and also the hearth of the home. What does your home’s hearth look like? Before modern times, the hearth was placed in the center of the home to radiate warmth equally around. Take a moment to discover what is in the very center of your home and what that means for you.
Mercury squares Jupiter and trines Neptune, elevating the mind to the mystical or the collective consciousness. This energy can be channeled in its highest form as service to the collective or service to others. Artistic, mystical and healing pursuits are also excellent channels. On the flip side, this combo also carries the possibility of emotions running away with the mind, resulting in confusion, enlarging issues or imagining them. Try to stay grounded! The Moon turns void at 5:12 pm and enters Virgo at 8:41 pm.
Wednesday, June 28th, the mind realizes oneness with the universal mind… if you choose it. The challenge is to see the details as a part of the big picture and not to get lost in the maya. Do your art.
Thursday, June 29th, we begin to feel the energy deepen. Chiron prepares to station retrograde in the wee hours of July 1st. The wound may be speaking to us, but it’s message is one that helps transform wounds into wisdom and pain into peace. Listen for the clues to see what you will be working with. What feelings are there? Mercury opposes Pluto taking us back in time, perhaps to a period where we felt shame or hurt. Remember there is a purpose. We are all here to learn through the microcosmic self, the love of the universe. The Moon turns void with lovely trine to Venus at 4:35 pm, filtering our vision with grounded optimism.
Friday, June 30th, the Libra Moon has a nice easy day before her, gracing us with the space to be receptive. Chiron stations retrograde tomorrow morning, realigning us with our healing path.
“Every woman who heals herself, helps heal all women who came before her, and all those who come after her.”
May ALL be guided to wholeness.
Aho Mitakyue Oyasin. May Mother Earth and all her inhabitants be awakened to our unity, and the highest LOVE of the Universe.
Love, peace and healing to ALL....
Listed are some frequently used terms in astrology and what they mean in English:
Void of Course: Once the Moon makes its last Ptolemaic aspect to another planet, the Moon has no more to do and is considered “void of course.” Minor aspects, minor planets, points and asteroids are not considered here. The last major aspect the Moon makes influences the void period. So if the last aspect is to Mars, the void period will probably be more energized and excellent for follow through. It’s not recommended to initiate anything important under a void moon, the logic being that the Moon isn’t making any connections, so it won’t be as fruitful. It’s also not considered wise to make big purchases on a void moon or else you may end up buying something you don’t really need. VOC Moons are best spent going with the flow, operating intuitively and resting if need be. For some reason, VOC in Sagittarius is considered an exception to some astrologers.
Ptolemaic Aspects: Conjunction, 0⁰, merging; Opposition, 180⁰, polarizing; Trine, 120⁰, harmonizing, flowing; Square, 90⁰, challenge, effort, action; Sextile, 60⁰, opportunity, ease
Quincunx: 150⁰, adjustment, discomfort
Out of Bounds: a planet is considered “out of bounds” when it travels further north or south than the Sun’s maximum declination of 23⁰27. The Sun is the king of the solar system, so when a planet extends beyond his reach, they are acting on their own accord, free from the Sun’s reign. They have a renegade quality for better or for worse. You can’t predict the planet’s behavior other than it is prone to extremes.

April was a bumpy ride. Rest assured, May offers a much smoother month.
Monday, May 1st is Beltane! While Beltane is the final of three pagan fertility holidays, it marks the first day of summer, according to Celtic old lore. It's a time to celebrate the Earth's ripeness, fertility and abundant potential. Likewise, for human beings this can be an extremely potent time for renewal, celebration of life, creativity, play and yes, fertility!
This magical day fortuitously arrives in lieu of the Taurus new Moon, when we begin a new cycle around beauty, pleasure, abundance, prosperity, talents, resources and what we have to offer the world.
The Moon goes void with a square to Uranus at 4:23 pm EDT, so once your duties are done for the day, let your hair down and celebrate your inherent wild nature. You were born naked, free and instinctual. I for one will be dancing around like a wild woman this evening, hopefully with flowers in my hair cackling with the clan of women I meet with each moonth. The only caution is to be aware on the ride home because everyone is feeling rambunctious.
The morning may be emotional for some, as ghosts from the past whisper in our ears. The silver lining is the ripe potential for healing thanks to both Chiron and Pluto, who help us evolve wounds into wisdom and strength. So even if you don’t feel like doing what you signed up for today, power through it; coal only becomes a diamond because of pressure. Celebrate freedom tonight.
Tuesday, May 2nd, today will be the most chaotic day of the week. Mercury stations direct concluding his retrograde; but before you heave a sigh of relief, remember that it’s on the station days that we feel these planets the most.
Mercury stations with a conjunction to Uranus and Eris, who I blame for much of the chaos from 2016. Together, Uranus and Eris stir the pot to awaken, startle and agitate. Many unexpected events characterized the last year, from underdog sports teams winning championships, to a certain illiterate demagogue who continues to baffle us, assuming the guise of POTUS─ along with several revolutionary movements calling for change, fairness and equality.
So what does it mean that Mercury stations direct while conjoining this pair? Mercury is the message, the voice. Undoubtedly, someone will verbally rock the boat causing the public to either recoil in shock or awe by the outspokenness. I suspect such message will carry a similar shocking or awakening vibe, serving as a channel to deliver more of the Uranus/Eris teachings. Additionally with Pluto’s influence, it might have to do with power, control, leadership, sex or secrets.
On a personal level, be receptive to an “Aha!” Excellent for creative or original ideas as well as sudden clarity or breakthrough. People might also suddenly depart, quit or sever ties if the retrograde brought them such clarity. Expect the unexpected.
Vesta follows the Moon into Leo. Center the hearth around your heart, passions and creativity.
Wednesday, May 3rd, the Moon remains in Leo, warming our hearts and encouraging authentic expression of our truth in various forms. The Sun perfects its sextile to Neptune, heightening creativity, third eye vision, imagination and connecting to a higher force. Engage in fluid activities supported by intuitive guidance. The Sun and Neptune together are also speaking to Jupiter about something very important in the collective. Who knows what this will be, but one example might be an elevated compassion and concern for the Earth’s resources and subsequent legislature.
Thursday, May 4th, the Moon enters Virgo at 5:47 am, joining the North Node of Destiny on the royal star, Regulus. Also known as Cor Leonis (the lion’s heart), Regulus is concerned with power, honor leadership, military and success or scandal. Namely, this aspect highlights those who hold leadership in the world. Although this aspect lasts only for a few hours, the North Node of Destiny sits at this potent degree until changing signs on the 9th.
This is a hugely important transition. The nodes change signs every 1½ years, however, this occurs on Trump’s Ascendant (a point in the chart as important as the Sun and Moon placement). The Ascendant is concerned with how one presents themselves to the world; it’s how we show up and has a great deal to do with self-expression. The North Node generates power wherever it touches. All eyes will be on Trump in a very big way over the next few months.
Read more about it in my article on The North Node in Leo
Friday, May 5th, the Virgo Moon attunes our focus to the details. There’s a tone of perfection and idealization, however, where does perfection exist on Earth? Not many places unless you’ve adopted the perspective that everything’s perfectly imperfect. Utopia is a vision which exists in the imaginations of the optimistic (here on Earth, at least). The Moon opposes Neptune, enhancing creativity and imagination, combined with the Virgo ability to improve and hone skills.
Saturday, May 6th, might begin to a cranky start. Something doesn’t go as planned or duty calls and you just don’t wanna! Once the Moon enters Libra at 2:20 pm, the heaviness lifts and the potential ripens to bring more joy and beauty into your reality. Libra is a social air sign, so connect with others, share and relate. The Moon opposes Venus at 11:22pm, extending the enjoyment into the latest hours.
Sunday, May 7th, enjoy a quiet, free-flowing day of activity. Go at any pace that feels right to you. The Libra Moon trines Mars in Gemini, which is great for conversation, reading, hiking, biking, exploration and engaging in new or stimulating activity. The Moon conjoins optimistic Jupiter at 7pm EDT, perfect for a satisfying dinner and ending the weekend on a high note. Indulgence is possible after a busy day!
Monday, May 8th, it’s difficult to hold a sharp tongue! The Libra Moon confronts and separates from Uranus, Mercury and Eris, depicting the nature of dispute, confrontation or rebellion. Perhaps it’s time to have that difficult conversation. Luna turns void with a sextile to Saturn, promising a constructive outcome (7 pm EDT). The remainder of the void is practical, disciplined, and reserved, making for a self-preserving type of evening in which you might go to the gym and head home for a healthy dinner.
Tuesday, May 9th, the subtleties of existence are more easily felt with the Moon’s residence in Scorpio. Perhaps then, we will feel the collective shift: The Lunar Nodes (north and south) change signs today, moving backward through the zodiac at a rate of 1½ years per sign. As of now, the North Node has transferred from Virgo into Leo, while the South Node has moved from Pisces to Aquarius.
This is vastly important for several reasons. Deserving of its own article, you can read more in my article, The North Node in Leo.
In a natal chart, the North Node reveals the individual’s destiny, purpose and where we find true fulfilment. Collectively, the North Node represents our evolving karmic destiny and where we are subtly developing as a whole. When the transiting nodes contact and important piece of your natal chart, it becomes even more personal. To gain clarity on these immensely potent points are for you personally, contact me to schedule a reading.
Full Moon :: Wednesday, May 10th :: 5:42 pm EDT :: 20⁰24 Scorpio
While this lunation was initiated under the ultrafeminine Taurus (ruled by Venus in Pisces), the Full Moon ripens to the song of the warrior. Ruled by Mars, Scorpio governs intimacy, power, transformation and so much more. Venus decides what is in our heart, fueling the Martian function of action.
Appropriately, the Sabian Symbols reads: “obeying his consciousness, a soldier resists duty,” perhaps alluding to clarity gained from Venus retrograde where we may have experienced a change of heart; we no longer resonate with something we previously signed up for and now it’s too huge to ignore. Despite what is being asked of us, we are called to honor our heart’s truth.
One might imagine that if a solider refuses orders, this would yield serious consequences. Muhammad Ali refused the draft due to his religious beliefs; facing time in prison, he spoke his truth to the courts and eventually became victorious. Another man of conscience, Edward Snowden is viewed either as treasonous or as a hero. This Full Moon is about obeying the Truth of your heart over anything else. The world may condemn you, but at least you have, “inner freedom,” the deep peace of your soul.
Scorpio embodies an inherent reservoir of power─ to keep up instead of giving up. With Scorpio, if there is a will there is a way, however, Scorpio is not interested in doing anything halfheartedly. If it means changing one’s mind, Scorpio will figure out how to redirect the energy in a more fulfilling way. Juno stations retrograde, reaffirming the need to renegotiate an agreement, contract or partnership.
Mars in changeable Gemini squares Neptune, which can indicate confusion about one’s direction or how you even got on this path at all! This quality reiterates the courage of acting upon one’s intuition, but also cautions deceit, manipulation and the abuse of substances. As Scorpio governs natural resources from deep within the Earth, we might look out for issues of contaminated waters, oil spills, or fracking (gas).
An affirming parallel: This Full Moon answers to the New Moon of 11/11/15, around the time of the historic UN Climate meeting in Paris. World leaders and scientists gathered to discuss the planet’s future. Meanwhile, climate change denialists invested in oil, coal and other 19th century technologies refuse to get on board. Perhaps such a person’s consciousness now begins to outweigh financial prospects. Cue the whistleblowers! This was also the time of time of the attacks in Paris, so Paris may once again make the news in a big way.
Thursday, May 11th, the morning is best spent intuitively moving with the flow until the Moon enters fiery Sagittarius at 12:59pm. Now, we wander with intent in the sign of the seeker. Basking in the light of the Full Moon, musings about life carry a grounded tone. The Full Moon asks us if we are in alignment with our path, while Saturn reminds us to take advantage of our time and resources.
Friday, May 12th, rose-colored glasses emphasize idealism, mysticism, and optimism The quest to understand may become especially enthralling with the Sag Moon’s square to mystical Neptune. Mars is making aspects, so it can be a busy day! Get moving or get social. If you feel overwhelmed or that rapture is near, the key is in the earthy analytical sign of Virgo; hone in on the details or offer to be of service to others. Wild woman Lilith encourages a healthy dose of rebellion. Follow your instincts! Heed the tendency to overdo, if you like.
Saturday, May 13th, we come down from our otherworldly high, but only enough that our feet barely touch the ground. A grand fire trine inspires the spirit and warms the heart despite what is going on in the world. It’s not just hot air; Saturn asks, how is this useful? The Moon goes void at 10:14 pm with a trine to Mercury making for a chatty, intellectual or playful evening.
Sunday, May 14th, Happy Mother’s Day! The Moon is in Capricorn, attesting to long-lasting investments of all kinds─ namely a mother’s love, which builds and evolves to new levels over a lifetime!
The Moon squares Venus, which is great for taking action around what it’s your heart. Show some gratitude or express feelings. Understandably, this can be a hard day for many people. Turn emotion into devotion and channel the energy in a way that serves you. The Capricorn Moon is not particularly squishy, helping us to act with intent versus succumbing to emotion.
Mars moves “out of bounds” by declination today, remaining so through June. A planet is considered “out of bounds” when it travels farther north or south of the celestial equator than the Sun is capable of moving. The Sun is, of course, the King of the solar system. Thus, when a planet is beyond the reaches of the Sun, it becomes more of a renegade, capable of going to extremes. Mars out of bounds in Gemini will tense the nerves, causing people to lose their cool much faster. Nervous breakdowns possible, along with irrational, impulsive actions. Mars rules war, weapons, anger, aggression and motor vehicles. With the North Node just past Regulus and conjoining Trump’s ascendant, and with him being a Gemini, this should be suffice reason for nervousness!
Monday, May 15th, awaken from interesting dreams and float to work! The industrious Capricorn Moon wants us to use our time wisely. Although not necessarily emotional, the energy intensifies around 4 pm EDT when the Moon conjoins Juno and Pluto. Possible themes of power, obsession, jealousy or loyalty arise. Beware of manipulating others or being manipulated. Overall, today is an active, resourceful day.
Tuesday, May 16th, don’t expect things to go as planned this morning, as we are under the rays of Uranus. People will be extra feisty, irritable and prone to emotional blowouts. The erratic energy becomes contained at 1:50 pm EDT when the Moon enters the fixed sign of Aquarius.
Mercury returns to Taurus where his retrograde began. The mind steadies and we slow it down once more, although we are definitely moving forward now. During any retrograde, we slow down, reprocess, revisit, remember, etc. Practical, sensual, receptive and meditative, the Taurus mind is the cautious “negative” mind, which directs us to look both ways before crossing the street. After gaining new inspirational ideas in Aries, we can now decide if any are worth implementing. Now, we begin to feel more motivated and assured, ready to take fruitful action in regards to all we gained during Venus and Mercury retrograde.
Wednesday, May 17th, Jupiter tightens it’s 2nd of 3 exact quincunxes (150⁰) to Neptune. Quincunxes call for adjustments, while Neptune and Jupiter can reference the legality of pharmaceuticals or other controlled, toxic or potentially harmful substances. The first quincunx was in October of 2016, when Mylan was under attack for inflated EpiPen prices and when the Federal Court rejected the Sioux Tribal Council’s appeal to overturn the Pipeline on the Standing Rock Reservation. Oil and water are both in Neptune’s domain (oil is also Pluto, who is also not finished squaring off with Jupiter).
Following the destruction of Standing Rock’s camp, further plans were announced to construct more pipelines in Ohio; as of this writing, those pipelines just spilled in the Ohio wetlands. When will we get it right?
Appropriately, the Moon resides in futuristic and humanitarian Aquarius. Let’s envision a brotherhood of wo/man working together. Imagine.
Thursday, May 18th, we are invited to release something that no longer serves us (collectively or individually) when the Moon crosses the vortex of the South Node in Aquarius. Send it into another dimension! The Fifth Dimension presented to us the utopian-mystic-crystalline version of the Age of Aquarius; but like everything else, Aquarius has a shadow side too. With the South Node in Aquarius, we will be faced with the Aquarian shadow of the hive mind, collective consciousness, and social-elitism. Moon goes void at 8:33 pm with a square to the Sun, supporting release, processing and letting go.
Friday, May 19th, playful jest and banter are instigated by Venus’ opposition to Jupiter. Softened by the buoyancy of the Pisces Moon, it’s all in good fun! The fiery spunk of Venus in Aries is tempered by unconditional love and the desire to connect with others. Can be flirty or feisty, but not frugal!
In the collective scope, two outer planets are having an important conversation. Saturn makes its second of three exact trines to Uranus. This aspect happens every 13-19 years, so it’s not all that common. Uranus encompasses the vast field of infinite potential: the promise of technological growth, invention, discovery and progress. Saturn, on the other hand, is the solid, sturdy tradition; built to last, it’s rigid and difficult to alter. Trines are 120⁰, easy and flowing, representing an ease of integration. We are remodeling pieces of the current order.
We’ve been working with this energy since late 2016. 19th century technologies and global warming have been recent major topics. The world-wide Science March, the water protectors of Standing Rock and the UN World Climate meeting characterize this period. On Earth Day, England boasted their first day without coal since the Industrial Revolution. Free energy is growing more abundant and available, thus driving the cost down. Frequent articles describe the windmill technician as one of the highest in demand jobs of our time. Green collar gigs are on the rise!
Another great example of this aspect is the release of Bill O’Reilly from Fox News. An old Saturnian curmudgeon, it was simply time to get with the times. While it was probably a hard decision for the MSM good old boys club, it seemed to flow with ease. He got his severance pay and off he went.
These changes will hold us over until 2020, when the two planets square off.
Saturday, May 20th, today’s main event is the Sun’s ingress into Gemini. The third sign of the zodiac, Gemini is the concept of duality. First, we have Aries, ultra-yang, the monad. Next, we have the dyad, the ultra-yin Taurus. Both yin and yang Gemini creates the triad, the holy trinity. Ruled by the changeable, versatile Mercury, Gemini is a dualistic sign and is therefore genderfluid. He is binary, flexible and mutable. Curious to sample all of the flavors of life, do not put Gemini in a box!
Geminis are known for being jack-of-all-trades. They are witty, fun and interesting folk. Mercury has many incarnations: Hermes, Thoth, Merlin, Enoch, Hermes Trismegistus, and the Berdache. All of these incarnations offered humanity our sacred everyday elementals: cuneiform, papyrus, sending letters, physical and literary transportation, architecture, math, alchemy, healing and magickal arts.
Appropriately, Gemini is often associated with teaching, orating, writing, and a curiousity which keeps the brain sharp and the spirit young. Speaking of versatility, this is the time of year when spring fluctuates into summer. Frequent outings, picnics and social gatherings, people get anxious to explore the community. And the bees are busy too; drunk on pollen, the bees buzz from flower to flower in the joyous mercurial act of pollination.
Sunday, May 21st, enjoy a flexible, easy, energized day. While the Moon hangs out in Aries, she makes no major aspects other than a closing crescent to the Sun. This begins a time of wrapping up, completion and reflection leading up until the New Moon on the 25th.
Monday, May 22nd, the Aries Moon triggers the tightening Venus/Pluto square which perfects with the Full Moon on the 25th. Venus/Pluto can be an obsessive kind of love, or dealing with influential resources. With the challenge of the square, it can bring more difficult themes of manipulation based on feelings and attraction, and at worst, violation. Often with Venus and Pluto in hard aspect, there can be love triangles, jealousy and risk of betrayal.
On a higher level, this can be intense, passionate love, tantric merging and the urge to devour. However, with the square, there’s still a challenge with the higher expression; perhaps one partner is more open than the other. This can also reveal truths within an intimate relationship, taking the dynamic and trust to a deeper level or, in the case of infidelity, transform the dynamic completely. Venus/Pluto can allude to the alchemy of love, relating and potent resources; but again, with the square, there’s always a bit of resistance somewhere.
Tuesday, May 23rd, maybe we didn’t sleep so well last night, but we can take advantage of a smooth, restorative day with the Moon’s residence in ultra-yin Taurus. Intuitively nurture and pamper yourself and pamper if need be. Taurus is all about senses and feelings. Go with your gut and listen to your body.
Wednesday, May 24th, the Moon trines Pluto, again activating the Venus/Pluto square, taking us back to gloomy November when the pair conjoined and began a new cycle around resourcefulness, intimacy and either healing with love or healing the wounds of love. The Moon turns void of course at 3:08 pm. The work is done. Now treat yourself to happy hour or a leisurely hike. Healing and transformation tint the rest of the day, restore your reservoir in a fulfilling way. Also great for follow through with work if you must!
New Moon :: Thursday, May 25th :: 3:44 pm EDT :: 4⁰ Gemini 46’
We live in an important era. The times we live in will be remembered as revolutionary as the 1960’s socio-political zeitgeist. The United States’ natal chart is undergoing some heavy-duty transits now through the 2020’s. We are redefining ourselves once more.
The Gemini New Moon occurs in the 5th degree of Gemini, whose Sabian Symbol reads: “a revolutionary magazine asking for action.” Perhaps it won’t be quite so literal, but it could be. There is already a global demand to change our ways with rising concerns about the planet’s well-being, along with vast economic inequalities worldwide. Gemini is a mutable sign; on a personal level it suggests we could be more flexible, or as the symbol suggests, take dramatic action as a responsibility to self or otherwise.
Gemini is ruled by Mercury, who just completed his retrograde journey. Mercury spent half of his retrograde in Taurus, which invited us to slow down, contemplate and absorb. Dipping back into Aries, we renewed our inspiration. Now we are more clear on our immediate purpose and ready to move forward!
The New Moon widely conjoins Ceres and is challenged by Venus and Pluto, who perfect their exact square formation today. This might mean that we must be willing to loosen our grip on something. Ceres is the nurturing principle, how we consciously meet our biological needs. In Gemini, it might be about feeding your head with new ideas and stimulus. Ceres in Gemini craves information. Consume wholesome, original ideas, think, question… Get to the grassroots level and talk to others. Read: REAL HUMAN CONNECTION. Gemini rules the community, after all. This is a great time to ask ourselves, “is this nourishing?”
When I think of the buzzing quality of Gemini, I can’t help but think about the inherent vibratory nature of all existence. “In the beginning was the Word…” Gemini rules our speech. If we are what we eat, might every vibratory frequency we consume influence us as well?
Friday, May 26th, in the wake of the energized New Moon, imagine the possibilities! We have an airy, inflated, dreamy dynamic in the morning. Float on your magic cloud or peer through hazy vision. The Moon in Gemini meets with Venus and Mars, excellent for human connection, conversation and social gatherings.
Saturday, May 27th, the weekend is off to an auspicious start with several dynamic planetary aspects. Such aspects will take place on the world stage, echoing into the collective.
Often a celebratory weekend in many parts of the United States, Memorial Day weekend honors those who have served our country. The Moon resides in the sensitive sign of Cancer, which places an emphasis on family and sticking close to your tribe, but also patriotism. Cancer is your roots, where you come from and the tribal markings─ from the general vibe of the clan to the family crest or even the nation’s flag. Enjoy the long weekend of outdoors, grilling, and enjoying the true beginning of summer.
Today we have a fated element in the sky combining watery, deceptive and mysterious Neptune with the mental function of Mercury, ruling media, youth, versatility and impressionability. Both point to Jupiter on the world axis in Libra, where he will station in just a couple of weeks. Jupiter is the important one. He will remain at 13⁰ Libra, the world stage for the entire month of June! Jupiter is the law, legislation and justice; in Libra, it’s about fairness, equality and aiming to ground more harmony into the world. These types of formations are difficult to predict because they bring a dose of samsara to the collective: fated happening based on the karmic repercussions of collective free will. We don’t control it; we’ve already made our bed.
Concurrently, Sunday, May 28th, not only does the Moon trigger the Venus/Pluto square from the emotional sign of Cancer, but again, this is also the sign of nationalism, clan, tribe and home. Interestingly, the United States is a Cancer Sun-sign who likes to mother the rest of the world imposing our version of “freedom” onto others. The Venus/Pluto square is about how we are using our resources and the motivation behind it (among other things).
Next up, we feel the culmination of Mars opposing Saturn. This is not an easy combination. Recall August of 2016 when the two conjoined. Individually, we may have felt blocked; something was making it difficult to move forward, whether it was red tape, responsibility or just generally the need to be patient. This was also the time when Trump won the Republican nomination and the DNC cheated themselves. It was certainly a challenging time! January 19th was when they formed a square─ just one day prior to Trump’s inauguration. What happened for you personally at that time? Now, the story continues as we reach the culmination.
From an astrological view, it seems that all eyes will be on Trump in a very big way May through August 2017. Mars is the renegade, out of bounds, doing whatever he pleases, while Saturn says, “Hey, you didn’t follow orders.” Saturn maintains structure, honoring the time-tested traditions which have sustained us over time. The challenge is in the polarity between tradition and young, fresh eyes. Mars wants to crusade and Saturn expresses caution. It’s the classic tale of the old versus the young. Let’s see what pans out.
Monday, May 29th, today is a relatively quiet day in the heavens. The Leo Moon makes no aspects, which is just fine as we may still be reeling from the weekend’s events both personally and collectively. Leo is pride, which many patriotic people will be expressing today, but it’s also time for play!
Tuesday, May 30th, the creative, playful Leo Moon gets busy! A morning sextile to Jupiter brings ambition, optimism and renewal, while a square to Mercury might just make it hard to focus or hone the energy to actually make it happen. The ambition is there, but maybe we are still too tired from the weekend.
Wednesday, May 31st, the Moon goes void at 7:14 am with a sextile to Mars. Motivation colors the morning, but we might work in circles instead of a straight line. The lunar void inspires us to operate intuitively rather than rigidly, but once the Moon enters Virgo at lunchtime, we get much more focused, honing in on the details. Not a single end is untied. Excellent day for research, completing, cleaning and deep thought.
